one thing I noticed- having an address change makes them review your case anyways and if everything is already complete, they just work on it then and complete the approval. I had an address change , it rapidly changed from review to approval. Can't for sure say if that truly truly works. let us know  if some one else tries it and the theory works.

I just submitted an address change today.

I moved around New Years, but left the address the same since my mother owns the home with the previous address, so I wasn’t pressed to change it. Now that I’ve seen this comment I’m testing out this theory. USCIS is telling me I should receive a reply by August 1st.

My PD date is: 08/26, AR date: 09/24 out of CSC. I’ll keep everyone posted if anything happens.

Me either.  I hope we don't get the standard, "You're within current processing times", because we weren't when the inquiry was made.  According to the processing times site, they are taking 8.5 months to process the 130s.  I got news for them, we're already at 8.5 months so why do we have to wait until July to contact them?  I'll be at 9 months in 5 days...

Exactly! We already surpassed the 8.5 months. If we are to make an inquiry in July then that means we can potentially be waiting almost a year for a final decision?

This really annoys me because NVC has a wait as well even after that decision making and all documents submitted. Haiti, which is the embassy my case will finish processing out of, is already all over the place with interviews and severely back logged. Only God knows when we’ll have visa in hand.

  3. I connected with Emma again today even though they keep telling me I’m at CSC but after one of the agents did a little more digging they responded with this and ended the live chat. Does that mean they submitted my inquiry for me? Also why did they end it with VSC ? Does this mean my case is actually in Vermont? Or is it still in Potomac which in is Virgina?

    I’m so confused.

No!!!!!  This comment is inaccurate.  This is inaccurate.  The US citizen petitioner MUST submit a separate I-130 for EACH beneficiary.    In addition, there are no DS-160s involved.

My mistake. I’m thinking of the K1 way. I will edit my comment.

or delete it if someone have permissions to do so cause I can’t.

  5. If you’ve already paid and completed your DS-160 abs created your US travel docs profile page to select DHL courier location:

-You must have the beneficiary go get their medical exam done (ranges from 500-650).

-obtain a police certificate if they’re over 16 years old. Also must have a police certificate for any other countries they’ve lived in for more than 6 months, if I’m not mistaken.

-obtain passport pictures for their interview and assemble originals & copies of all necessary documents

-ensure their passport is not close to expiring.

I am at CSC with a PD of 8/10/21. USC petitioning for spouse.  I filed an out of processing inquiry on 4/12/22 and have not gotten a response other than an email saying that they received my inquiry.

Wow, thank you for sharing. I wonder what’s going on. I’m petitioning for my stepson. I know CSC had a longer wait time for USC I-130 petitions at one point, however it recently dropped to a 6.5-8.5 month turn around time, yet my case is on month 9 going on 10. I sure do hope we hear something soon. Let’s keep each other posted, thanks !

    I-864

So as a joint sponsor you will fill out a separate I864 unless you are a child of the primary sponsor and reside at the same physical address as the primary sponsor and they are relying on your income to meet the requirements, then you can fill out the I864A as household member of the primary sponsor.

    Good Luck!

Thank you so much! You all were very helpful. I’m glad I asked because I was close to filling out the I864A, but I am not in the same household! Thank you again! 😊

  8. Hello,

I’ve read the instructions, but can someone clarify this for me regarding the affidavit of support.

If I’m the petitioner and I choose to have someone else sponsor the beneficiary, do I have them fill out the I-864A or the regular I-864? Do I as the petitioner still need to fill out the I-864 and then have the other person fill out I-864A?

Please let me know if I need to provide more details to best help answer my question.

    thank you!

  9. I’m also actually following a few I-130’s from family members who I helped file their paperwork.

My cousin who filed for his son and daughter both under 10 years of age, the same day online did so in July of 2021. Both PD dates were 07/18/2021 originally at the California service center.

The sons case went into AR on 10/20/2021 and his case is still in AR as of recent.

His daughter, on the other hand, her case didn’t go  to AR until November 14th, 2021 and she was approved recently on February 22nd, 2022 before her brothers.

We waited to see if the sons would change in the next few days as well since we basically filed the same day and time and due to the fact that his went into review before his sisters, but it still has not. We inquired with Emma and found out that the sons case was transferred to Texas And the daughters case was transferred to Nebraska. We were flabbergasted at how fast the daughters case was approved and it’s cause Nebraska has a processing timeline of 4-8 months. Texas is 18-23 months for my cousin since he’s a Permanent resident.

New Case story: now my other cousin who I sent off his paperwork for his mother, just got an approval today.

The PD date: 04/07/2021 from Potomac Service center

    Case AR: October of 2021

Case approved: Today, March 11th, 2021 from Texas service center

I love the new feature on the website where USCIS uploads any document they mail out to you as soon as it’s generated in their system. So although my cousin hasn’t received the official letter in the mail yet, we saw the approval notice uploaded in the documents tab in his USCIS account.

I write all that just so people can have an idea of dates they’re working on in certain centers and try to make some sense of what’s going on depending on the service center.

  10. Hello everyone,

My husband & I filed for his son (my stepson):

    PD: August 26th, 2021

    Case AR: September 24th, 2021

Our notice said Potomac service center, but when I inquired with Emma , she shared it’s at the California service center. Even though my case status updated from received to reviewing under a month, I thought it would be a quick turnaround but I’m still waiting almost 7 months in.

Hoping to get a decision at least by the summer so he can complete NVC & embassy stage by the end of this year.
