Dear may filers! I’ve been reading this topic almost from the beginning, but haven’t posted anything… Want to say thank you all!! You made my waiting game so much easier.. Can’t believe we will finally be together soon!!) I wish you all good luck, the day when we can finally look into our favorite eyes in the world and say «I do» is right around the corner!))

Trump Ban 3.0 kicks in oct 18th. "bona fide" relationships no longer an exception. ban is indefinite.

Can't seem to catch a break from this process...

Your senator is D.ick Durbin, a Democrat. I'd say start calling his office ASAP and see if he'll help you get the case through. Not much time to spare, though...I hope things work out for you.

Im not fishing for sympathy, I just want to put something into perspective for all you guys. My petition was received on may 16th. After 5 years together we were finally coming to the end of our long journey to be together forever. August 11 my life was turned upside down when my darling fiancé was tragically killed in a car accident. I still don't know what to do with myself. For all of you worrying about how long this process is just remember the time is coming for you to be with your loves. You will see each other again no matter how long it takes. I can not come to this thread anymore to read the news. It just hurts way too much.

Much love to everyone going through this process and good luck to you all.

    😘

    Dear Jan,

This is so sad to hear. I was wondering what had happened since your last post, and it has been a while. I wish my condolences while you are going through, what I must believe is, a very difficult time.

Been almost a year for me so quit complaining

No need to be rude. 1 month, 4 months, 12 months.. it's all long when you are separated from the one you love. We are here together for support and information. Are members who have been away from their S/O for more than X-amount of time only allowed to express their feelings here? Nope. Show some compassion.

Good Morning All! (Its morning here on the east coast of the USA)

We are truly struggling with the distance. We are only about 70 days post NOA1. The waiting time is painful and extremely difficult. How are you all coping with this while you wait. My work schedule is pretty hectic, however we communicate often via video/phone calls? How are you all able to cope?

My timeline keeps pushing back towards almost the end of September?!! HELP! :(

My fiancé is on the east coast, also. Thankfully she's not on the West... I don't know if I could handle that time difference. We just try to text a bunch, facetime at least once a day. Try to find something to look forward to. Sometimes I go on Amazon and order something random for the house. Makes me feel included, she can show it to me over Facetime, and such. She's also taking a class she missed during her undergraduate so she can get a promotion. Luckily, I majored in that field, so we spend some time facetiming and going over her homework.

Most of all, I found it to help the most to segment the wait. Try to plan visits, have the dates set so you can have something closer to look forward to. Setting many small goals is so much better than having that long road to the approved K-1.

  6. Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing ok. I e-mailed the US Embassy here in Iceland to ask them how long they usually take from receiving the package from NVC and scheduling the interview. They e-mailed me back and told me it would be OK to start looking at the medical examination. Here in Iceland only 2 doctors are permitted to do the physical, so they are pretty backed up. Especially during the summer, because of summer holidays. The soonest appointment they had was in September. Maybe this is something you should consider looking into as well, just to account for any possible delays. Just be careful not to go to the physical too soon. It has to be within 3 months of the Embassy Interview.

My fiance also tried contacting her local representative to see if we can get expedited. She works for the military, and I've seen some military personnel get expedited. This probably won't work, since she is only a contractor for the military doing DNA anaylsis, but it doesn't hurt to ask. She does get similar benefits at airports as the military does.

I'm just trying to be on top of everything.. I do get to see her in two weeks, so that is a plus side!! ^_^

From the expected dates many are listing in September, how long is the rest of the process until the beneficiary can enter the country on the K1? Estimates are fine. Just trying to get an idea. I'm thinking we'll need to plan for our backup date of 4/28/2018 instead of trying to squeeze it in for winter this year (bc outdoor wedding).

As to what I'm doing... as the bride in the States, where he is moving, I am wedding planning and MOVING. I was planning to stay put during the process BUT a house came up that's twice the square footage for the same price, in a great location in the same

town, so. I just put together all the wedding things and it's already a lot...

Our Aussie engagement session canvas is at the bottom left

Congrats on the new house! Definitely exciting times. I think a lot depends on your embassy. Has anyone tried reaching out to their embassy and ask how long they usually take before issuing the interview?

I think I'm lucky, since Iceland is a part of the visa waiver program the US Embassy here is mostly busy with immigration visas. I think they process them pretty quickly, not many people live here :P

  8. I was snooping on the forums for earlier month filers. Looks like there's plenty of movement in the March group. I wish we were there. Some people with NOA-1 dates of March 20 got their NOA-2 July 13th. So that's just under 4 months of waiting.

I also saw in the April forum that many people have had their processing estimates pushed back. I just checked mine and it got backed from August 26-29th to September 1-9th. :(

    Here's to waiting. :pop:

  9. We are planning on having two weddings :o. Her father can marry people in the State of California. So we'll probably fly to California quickly after I enter the States on my K-1. It will just be our parents and immediate family and have a cute moment there. Then we can start the next steps of the process while we wait to have our big ceremony in June! We plan on having an outdoor reception in California by her cabin. It's a beautiful area by June lake, near Tahoe and Yosemite. I don't know how many people will actually come from Iceland to the wedding, but we plan on sending Save the Dates around September / October.

Yaay.. this is a fun topic!

  10. Oh I have one question for the group. I am the beneficiary. Has anyone had their beneficiary or, if you are the beneficiary, have you gone to visit your fiancé in the States after filing for the K-1? I really want to go visit her in Delaware and my parents in California, but I worry about being turned around by immigration. I mean, I obviously do have intent to immigrate eventually (even though my intent on the tourist visa would only be to visit).

If so, did you bring proof of ties to the country and did you face hard questions by the immigration officer?

    best,

    Adam
