  1. And here again the sarcasm… I guess I will figure it out myself, or perhaps a kind person may come along. Thanks anyway.
  2. Hi there, thanks for responding. I’m not really sure why the commenters on Visa Journey tend to do this, by merely responding with a link or with some other form of curt response as though the querent is a moron. I’m not sure if it’s sarcasm or what else. Of course I did thorough research before posting my question here because I wouldn’t wish to waste anyone’s time with something I could easily Google. The website you provided was my first place of research. As you can see, it refers generally to anyone passing through. However, what I was unclear on was if K1 visas counted as a form of US visas. Because here is another piece of information I discovered during research: ”London (Heathrow) has the Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV). While most flyers transiting through London require a DATV, exemptions exist for travelers bound for the US, Canada, Australia, or Japan with valid visas. If you are traveling to Brazil via London, a DATV is unnecessary.” Therefore, I wondered if anyone here might have had any prior experience or information that might be helpful or offer some clarity.
  3. Hey there! Question: If my fiancé will be traveling to NY with me but we have a layover in London for 1 hour 50 minutes, does he need to obtain a transit visa? Or does the K1 Visa in his book count as having a US Visa (as I have heard that US is exempt from the requirement of transit visas in the UK — please correct me if I am wrong on this one). Any idea?
  4. Hi guys, 3 weeks ago the Lagos Consulate emailed me our Packet letter stating they were ready to complete the final processing of our application, which means time to interview. They sent us our instructions on what to do next and how to schedule. Yet when I go to the website to schedule, it always says: “Does your immigrant case number starts with LGS2019, LGS2020, or LGS2021?” Of course, ours does not. It begins with LGS2023. So we select “No”. After that it stops us and says: You are not eligible to schedule an appointment for K visa at this time. Please wait until you receive a notice of eligibility. I am currently in a Facebook Group where yesterday it was announced that K1 Visa interview dates had opened up. I went to the website, and still received the above warning. Everyone else was able to schedule interviews— but not me. I also do not hear anyone else mentioning this warning. I called the Embassy, of course, and they have no comment on it. They simply tell me to send an email. When I do send an email, what seems like a robot responds with only instructions on HOW to schedule an appointment, but no comment on the warning. #1: Has anyone else seen this when trying to schedule an appointment? #2: Should I just wait? My worry is that the US Petition is only valid for 4 months. Likewise our Police Certificate is only valid for 3 months. If we don’t get an interview this year, would that mean that our Petition has expired and we must start the process again? Thank you, Krystale
  5. Hey, We received our Packet from the Lagos Consulate with instructions to schedule our interview, get medical and police reports. However, when trying to schedule an interview, there’s a question that asks: ”Does your Immigrant visa case number start with LGS2019, LGS2020, or LGS2021?” Obviously, ours does not because this is 2023 and we just got our packet two weeks ago. So we choose “No.” After selecting this, a notice pops up which states: “Please note that at this point, you cannot proceed with scheduling your K visa appointment. Please wait to receive your notice that you are eligible to schedule your visa interview.” I called the Embassy and they put me on hold and told me to send an email. I sent an email, and got an automated response which says, ”We understand that you would like to schedule an appointment for a K1 visa application. Please note that at this point, you cannot proceed with scheduling your K1 visa appointment. Please wait to receive your notice that you are eligible to schedule your visa interview.” What “notice” are they talking about? We received email instructions to proceed with our interview. But the website mentions “LGS2019, 2020, and 2021” — Does this mean the Embassy is backed up and only taking appointments from those years?
  6. Hi everyone, So my fiancé recently submitted his DS-160 application because our case says “READY” when I checked, and read online that the next step is to complete the DS-160 form. I am also working on the I-134 form as well. But… what happens now? Ordinarily with another kind of application (for example, B1/B2) I would move on to scheduling an interview. I see many people talk about a “Welcome Letter” from NVC but I have not received this. The letter I received was the K1FTP, which stated that our case would be sent to my fiancé’s country and the Embassy/Consulate would contact my fiancé when they are ready to process his application. The awkward part about that is that “home mail” is not really a common thing in my fiancé’s country, so I wonder how exactly will they get in contact? Or since our case is marked “READY”, do we go ahead and complete our documentation, medical, police certificates, fees, and evidence and then schedule interview ourselves? Thank you for your guidance!
  7. Hi Geraldin, Good question. I was indeed selecting “Nonimmigrant” at first but later realized I should select “Immigrant”. My case is ready. I am happy to say that I have completed the form. The glitch still persists but has reduced a bit. The site times out every 5-10 seconds so between typing responses it would glitch. I had to “retrieve my application” at least 40 times and continuously switch my browsers back and forth between errors. I still do not know the cause of the glitch. I wish I did so that I could help someone else who might be facing the same thing. What has helped me is simply time and persistently going in and out between errors. Thank you all so much for trying to assist me. May you all also find help in your times of need.
  8. Very good question. I wish I could know this information except the website glitches for me. It doesn’t accept my Case Number as it keeps saying “Invalid”, and the number is directly copied from my letter. When it doesn’t say invalid, it goes to an error page displaying an ID to send to non-existent “support”. I’m simply confused 😭
  9. Hey guys, After receiving my case number from NVC last week, my fiancé and I have been trying to fill out the DS-160 form. However, the weirdest glitch keeps happening. Specifically 3 types of glitches: 1) After selecting a location, the page will refresh. This is the worst. When this happens, my location selection will disappear and go back to “Select One”. I will try to do so again and it will no longer be available. Literally it will be stuck on “Select One” with no location options (see this screen recording https://streamable.com/ghw9fc ) 2) The other glitch is that SOMETIMES after the refresh, we may get lucky and the location stays put and all I have to do is put in the code, and finally I am able to at least get to the “Computer Fraud Act” page. I will quickly select our security and agree, save our application number, and continue. As soon as this button is pressed, the page refreshes back to the “Select Location” page.. again. Having the Application ID does not help in trying to ”retrieve an application” because I did not get to start the application. 3) The 3rd glitch that happens is when I used my phone to try another attempt. With this device, I was able to start an application and fill out the first page including name and date of birth information. I have saved our Application ID, and quickly try to save at least this first page — and what happens when I click the “save” button? You guessed it! Back to the “Select Location” homepage 🫠 But I don’t give up, I now have some form of an Application ID and attempted to type some information in on the first page of the application even though “saving” it appeared to trigger the glitch again. I try to “Retrieve Application” this time, but the system says that our Surname and DOB is incorrect — which it is not. To even get to this part was difficult, because as soon as I type one letter of the Application ID, “Session Time Out” appears — literally after 2.1 seconds of being on the page. To save you the trouble… Yes, I have refreshed. Does not work. Yes, I have switched my browser between Google Chrome and Firefox. Still glitches. Yes, I have restarted my laptop. Yes, my network connection is currently excellently stable, but still, I switched to another network just to be sure — still glitches. Yes, I have tried other devices, including two other laptops and my phone. And I have waited two days before trying again, assuming it might be a technical error that may be fixed if I give it some time. But nothing. Absolutely nothing has fixed the glitch. Is anyone else experiencing this? What do I do? I’m a little worried about it because getting help on this is clearly impossible, and we received our NVC case number recently and I’m not sure what to do if we can not fill out the form. Any ideas? Thank you so much in advance. PS: Here’s a short clip to show you one of the glitches in action: https://streamable.com/ghw9fc
