JayeBird reacted to Cyberfx1024 in K1 visa applicant getting a SSN before marriage
Then go to a different office. This happens sometimes and people usually just go to a different office to get it done then. It's frustrating to say the least.

I don't think that's going to be a problem.
As long as it's not an error made on a D.O.B or something like that - it should be ok.

If you answer yes you have smoked you will face a ban. If you say no then your drug test better be clean. I'm going through same issue.

I think your fiance will be fine - It is a good sign when they asked for her passport. Unfortunately, big gap in age difference is one of the many red flags that they look for see link http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/red-flags-that-make-uscis-suspect-marriage-fraud.html
You are not the first and surely wont be the last.
I hope they approve her visa soon.

Hi All,
I am a Feb filer who have gone through the process, welcoming all the newcomers. WELCOME!
The toughest part of this journey is waiting on the NOA2 approval (some of you may have figured this out already if you have been on other forums), so pack some patience. Average wait time is 3 months for NOA2.
I hope you all receive speedy approvals, so you can be with your love ones!!!
Stay close to the forum to help you through this journey.
Cheers!!

It will pop up right below document delivery location.
It will show your name, passport number, case number and status. Under status it will read - courier shipping number: xxxxxxxxxxx.
Click on the number and the details will pop up.
My fiancé's interview was on August 14. The visa was issued/printed on August 17. DHL Picked up the visa from the embassy yesterday, August 21, after 11am and it was available for pick up by 12:15.
If nothing is there now, give it another day. your interview was a day after my fiancé's so should be ready soon.
All the best.

Did you registered online for DHL pick up at the head office? If you did log into the account and you will see the waybill tracking if DHL already picked up the visa from the embassy
I was able to give my fiancé the waybill tracking number and he received his visa yesterday. He was there before and they told him it wasn't there but it was. he went back and gave them the waybill and they found it and gave it to him

Sure, here you go. It is the same site you scheduled the interview and paid for the visa.

Hi All,
I have been silent for a while but I wanted to let you know that the interview went well although it wasnt much of an interview. The consular that interviewed us said our interview will go down on record as the fastest interview she has ever conducted.
She asked us ony 2 questions.
1st question she asked my fiance was - what kind of work he does.
2nd question was if he had kids. He said yes. I jumped in and said we have 2 together and told her their ages. She then took off her eyeglasses, closed the file and said "this interview is over. If you both have kids together there is nothing else to say to convince me about your relationship." She said the visa will be ready by the end of the week.
I realize there are a few still waiting on NOA2. All I can say is don't loose hope. I know it must be difficult but hold on. It may last long but not forever.

I am very pleased to say that babe and I got approved today at 11:24am today!! The CO SAID that it would take APPROX 2 weeks to get the visa. My experience as follows:
got there at 8:30, received a folder with a list of items to put in folder.... about 9:20 my name was called to review the folder and all the items were taken, some questions were asked for verification- who is the petitioner, her phone number, my address and phone number as well. Asked to step out and wait for my name to be called. At 11:15 my name was called again for the interview.
Questions asked:
CO: how are you? Me: nervous and hungry lol
CO: let's see how quick we can get u out of here then
who is the petitioner?
what is the relationship to the petitioner?
how did you and ur fiancé meet?
where did we meet?
has she ever been to trini?
how many times have you seen each other since being together?
do u get along well with her family?(feel like this question came because we are same-sex)
where did the proposal happen?
Who proposed?
When did u propose?
How long have u known each other?
When do u plan to get married?
what are the plans for the wedding?
Where does my fiancé work?
what does she do there?
The CO was very nice and basically asked the questions while reviewing my package which was lengthy... her questions corresponded to the part of the package she was looking at
, atthe time.

Sorry I have been absent so long. I know everyone's experiences are different.
We arrived at the Embassy at 9;00 for a 10:05 appointment. Waited outside for about 20 minutes until we are allowed to enter through security.
After we pass 2 security check points, we are instructed to have a seat. Maybe 30 minutes, we are called to the interview called. As the man is asking for the documents requested in the Packet 3, he is casually talking to us. After he finishes entering in the computer, we are instructed to have a seat. After sitting, I asked Wendy if she realizes that was the first interview. She couldn't believe was so easy. She was completely unaware. He asked for no further documentation from us.
20 minutes later we are called to the 2nd interview. He reviewed our file. I asked for interview in English. He said no. If he had any questions for me, he would ask in English. Asked Wendy about her occupation, family in USA, where we will live and how she learned English. Then handed her a blue slip telling her how to pickup her Visa. Everything in Spanish. She turned to me crying. I asked what??? She says he says congratulations. 😍 As we walked past others waiting for their interview, everyone began congratulating us.
Never even opened the folder o had with documents.
We we will be traveling home next week together. We are grateful to VJ and our fellow members as we help each other through this stressful process. For those still waiting. Patience is difficult but necessary. Have faith in your relationship and your fellow citizens who are serving in the immigration process.
Best Wishes to all
Wayne y Wendy

I agree completely.
A lot of people here are applying for their loved ones in other (let's just call them "first world" or "information accessible" countries). For those of us who have loved ones in less connected countries....one piece of paper could cause weeks of delays....
I would make sure she/he has a copy of everything. Just in case

I think it is another one of those things that are embassy specific (I know it is required for the embassy in Algeria....along with the receipt from the DS 160...but again, that's algeria)
Me, personally, would take absolutely everything . ...just in case they needed something at the interview.
