I was under the impression that Filipinos and their non Filipino spouses were exempt from the insurance requirements?

Good evening all,
My wife and daughter (the filipino-americans) and me (just american) are headed to the Philippines in September, and while I know things can change on a dime, currently, does anyone have any experience using the proctored tests such as optum for headed to the Philippines? I'm very aware for the way back, PAL will only take a test administered in the Philippines, but for the way there, through LAX, was hoping to use a proctored test where you video call a nurse to watch you and read the results. Flying from South Texas to LAX in the evening before our PAL flight, spending the night in a hilton near LAX then flying out noon the following afternoon, so we could hypothetically do a test at the TBIT in the morning, but that seems cutting it close.

That would be quite complicated with her in the US and him in mindanao

Would the dna test be necessary even if he is listed on the certificate?

Good evening all,
My wife has just naturalized this past friday, and would like to bring her father over from the Philippines, however him and my wife's mother were never married despite my wife's birth certificate saying they were. He has since married my wife's stepmother. And while my wife was raised by her father and stepmother while her mother was abroad, the only real proof we have of a relationship is just her birth certificate and various photographs from throughout her life, due to the Philippines being a very cashed based society with little to no receipts. Would these and a cover letter explaining the situation on an I-130 be sufficient? My father in law also was a sea-farer with a US visa as well. If this all goes well, we plan to have him petition his wife and minor children as family of a permanent resident. Any advice on this would be appreciated to ensure success on this petition.

I had my interview yesterday afternoon. I arrived about 20 minutes before my interview like the letter suggested. I noticed there was a line in front of the building, so i got close and asked and apparently we were all scheduled for our citizenship interview for the same time. It was about 25 of us in the line, we went through the security TSA style check in, then had our picture and biometrics taken as proof that you attended the interview.
After that, i was given a ticket and asked to wait with everyone else in a waiting room. I waited for about 25 minutes before the officer called my name. One thing i noticed was that, it seems the order with which we were being taken in was already assigned to the officer, and was not based on how early you got into the line. Instead you were being called based on how quickly the officer finished the previous interview.
Anyway, we made small talk as the officer walked me to her office. She was very professional, and stoic. She swore me in, asked for my greencard (which was the only document she asked for) and we took the civics and history test:
- What Territory did the US purchase from France?
- How long do we elect a president for?
- Who resided in America before Europeans?
- What was the main concern of the US during the Cold War?
- What was the reason Colonists came to America?
She typed my responses. We did the reading and writing part. Then we went over the yes/no questions. I had 3 speeding tickets from 2018, which i got dismissed after deferred disposition but i mentioned them on my application as was advised here. But because i had basically responded yes to the citation, found guilty, and deferred disposition questions, she said the system was showing it like i had 15 tickets. So she deleted them and told me i didn't even have to include them at all.
After that, she confirmed some of my other responses on my application. Then she told me i was getting approved and congratulated me. There were some uncomfortable long pauses in there, as she read through my application and the room was eerily quiet. She circled approved on a sheet of paper that was attached to my whole immigration file that they had. Then she started giving me information on the ceremony that she would try to get me in for Friday. As we were having that conversation, another officer walked in and said the cutoff time for the ceremony for this friday was 3:30. But he said the next one will be in February as well, possibly in two weeks and on a Friday. She told me not to get in trouble before my ceremony and then walked me out to the exit. I walked to my car, checked my status on the USCIS website and it already updated to "My Oath Ceremony will be Scheduled"
What time was your interview scheduled for? Curious as to how late they go into the day.

After first interview where they said we filed too early, new interview coming up 17 Feb at 11:35a for my wife. I wonder if that’s too late for a same day interview, good thing we live in Bexar County

I have a question for you, if you are vaccinated, did they accept your cdc vaccination card? Or did you put that in to the health pass system to make it work for you?

Foolish that children are not exempt. So even if my wife and I are vaccinated, we would still have to sit around in a hotel for a week with our 4 year old, who isn’t eligible and frankly doesn’t need a vaccine.

Looks like San Antonio has increased it's processing time again, to 14.5 months.. Ridiculous!! Why does it takes citizenship application to process in more than a year?
Estimated time* until case decision:
approx. 4 months
When did you apply? My wife’s status says 5 months and applied at the end of December 2020?

Still no interview date for me
No updates since Jan 2021 and the website doesnt give me a date anymore to when expect completion.
"Your N-400 personalized processing time is down for maintenance. Check the estimated case processing times for your field office or service center."
Same, and we have two friends have have naturalized in like three months, same office both before and after us. Very discouraging.

My congressman had an event in my town, so I had my wife fill out a form so they can inquire, and hopefully serve as a “bump.”

Not seeing it but I’m sure it’s temporary

I filed on December 4th and I received the biometrics reuse notice on January 12th. New Orleans Office
Check this out
Is your case still showing your smear image as September?
-
saw this pop up and saw it in Philstar as well! I’m not sure if this means no more tests or quarantine when arriving in Manila or Cebu, but definitely going in the right direction!
-
My wife’s completed time lapsed one month to October 2021. San Antonio, Texas.
-
So my wife filed on 26 December, and got a biometrics reuse notice on 13 January. And a friend of her’s filed in mid September, and had her interview the 7th, so our office seems to be chugging along. And we all live in Bexar County.
-
Just checked my wife’s online account, she now has a biometrics reuse notice dated for yesterday, 13 January. Completion estimate is still September. But she had a friend who applied a few months before her, just waiting for her oath went from applying to interview in 4.5 months. So hopefully we follow the same trend.

Good evening and Merry Christmas, my wife is applying under the 3 year rule, and her date to apply was tomorrow, the 26th. However, I guess the USCIS website runs on GMT, allowed me to submit and pay. The case showed up on her account and shows as December 26th. Applying in San Antonio, Texas, hopefully this flies by.

Same, I’m not sure if I should do padlab or Red Cross, or if they are dependent on what terminal you arrive in.
Proctored COVID antigen tests for entry to PH?
