I do not think our experience is the norm; but here is a list of what I can remember.  They usually have their own interpreters, but, the day of our appointment their New York office was closed due to snow so they had to use the interpreter I brought with me and I am sure that was part of the issue.
 
He ask me:
How we met?
How many time I visited her?
Wife’s family (Mother, Dad, Brothers, Sisters names, if they had kids…)?
Dates parents died?
Wife’s children (names, date of birth, married, husbands name, kids…)?
 
He ask the wife:
All the questions he ask me plus!
I think he ask all 80 plus questions that are on the I-485?
On many of the questions he would change up how he ask the question to see if she would give a different answer?
He seemed to concentrate on questions about military and weapons training?
He ask her our current address?
Where I worked?

Personally I don't think someone granted the privilege to immigrate here is entitled to bring their whole family solely on the basis that they are related. I would make an exception for minor dependents of the immigrant assuming they are otherwise qualified to immigrate here. If you are approved to live here as an immigrant you accept that privilege knowing full well you will be leaving your family behind. If you dont want to leave your family behind don't come here. There should be no inherent right to immigrate here just because your family member immigrated here unless they apply for and are qualified to immigrate here independent of their family member. 

My Fiancé was approved on 24 Aug at Guangzhou (no issue and no 221g).  Then on 30 Aug we received a 221G by email (the consulate had lost her divorce papers).
 
We sent papers and on 11 Sep the CEAC site changed to issued.  On 12 Sept received another email that said her Profile on the ustraveldoc site had an error that needed to be corrected before they could issue the Visa.
 
19 Sept ustraveldoc (Citic back) site said her passport had been received from the consulate and was being processed for delivery.
 
Today (22 Sept) the Citic back told my fiancé she should have her passport w/visa on Monday (25 Sept).  I know (or hope) this is not the norm.  I would not recommend making in plans that cannot easily be changed.
 
For us this has been stressful, but, not a big deal; only because we decided early on not to try to rush her departure after she received her visa.
 
I fly to China the first week of Oct and we return to the U.S. together on the 26th.

I guess every case is different because my Fiancée was approved this morning and her English is pretty bad.  Her appointment was at 8:15 and she was finished by 9:30.

Got an email today through my USCIS APP that our I-129F was approved yesterday 14 Jun.
Checked the USCIS on line status checker and it said the same thing.
