Hey I got an email through nvc it was the welcome number and now I can pay the fee so I’m going to now. That’s was fast because it was yesterday I just filled out the ds261 🙂
I think if you're the petitioner on the application and you selected yourself as the agent AND you're currently here in the states, they process your DS261 much quicker. I submitted mine yesterday, called NVC this morning and they accepted my DS261 while I was on the phone.
Good luck on the rest of the process! Almost there....

I just called NVC. MY case was sent to DOS on 1/12/18. They received my case on 1/22/18. No case # assigned yet. Still more waiting but that's what I expected.
Yay! Both our petitions were received at NVC at the same time. They said check back on Feb. 5th or 6th for case #. Already starting to get financial docs. ready to go.

FINALLY!!!! I received my 130 approval notice in the mail last night. My PD 12/8/16. Case approved on 1/4/18. It was mailed out on the 5th. I signed up for text and email notification. Never received those. My case on the website and the apps still say received. The main thing is i have the approved document in my hand! I wasn't expecting to receive it last night but I sure have hoped and prayed for it. For all still waiting for approval, never stop believing and never give up hope! This process is excruciating painful at times. Always remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's been longer journey than I ever imagined. I am hoping the next stage goes faster. Thank you to the VJ family and this forum who has helped me through this process and all the insight I have read along the way. It's nice to have people who can understand.
WOOOOHHOOOO! OMG STEPH&BOO I AM SOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!! Way to hang in there.

Quick question , just being Impatient here ,
Trying to estimate my remaining timeline
My i-129 was closed on 4th , I called tier 2 on 5th they said i-130 case approved on 5th , no online update or mail for either one yet ,
So typically how long is Nebraska taking to send to DoS after this situation ??
I'd like to know too. My I-129F was closed on 01/05 and I have yet to receive any updates and even called to check on my I-130 and still no approval. When you spoke with a Tier 1 officer, were they able to see if your case was approved? Or did you have to request to speak to a tier 2 to get that information for your I-130?

so happy for you girl <3 it was definitely deserved and a long time coming!
nothing easy about waiting beyond the normal processing times in Nebraska. I know exactly what you guys are going through, but know that the approvals are coming, slowly, but surely <3 this year will be the one, guys.
Aaaww thanks girl <3 it has been a long time coming and I am soooo grateful that I am close to getting the heck out of hellbraska lol
This process is never easy and it will NEVER be easy. But I'm so glad to have found such an awesome group of people who understand. Thank you all!

You can start seeing the light out of the Hllebraska tunnel! The next stage I hope if over in a blink of an eye for you.
Thank you so much Steph&Boo. Now it's just anxiously waiting for an approval letter for my I-130. I know yours is on its way to..

UPDATE: This morning I received 4 text messages and an email that my I-129F has been closed and benefits have been received by other means.
I am beyond happy and grateful!!
Now currently waiting for an update on my I-130.
@Alexis9294 I am a DEC 2016 filer. Although I just received that notification, I am still stuck in Hellbraska till my actual approval comes through. So far there are three known DEC 2016 filers in this forum including myself. We will all get out of this place eventually!

I'm also Dec 2016. Nothing yet. Thinking about it alone break me everyday. PD Dec 13th. Our inquiry response was to allow 60days additional time ( ending on 15th January) and yet nothing. What else can we do? Any response from anyone asked to allow 60days additional time pls? Nebraska have really make life so painful. This is too much
I'm so sorry you have yet to receive an answer yet. There is still 10 more days till the 60 days they asked you to allow them and I PRAY you will get an approval before or even ON that date (preferably BEFORE). I was told to allow 60 days as well (ending Jan 28th) due to additional reviews. It does get very discouraging but sooner or later they're gonna have to let us out of Hellbraska. Hang tight, we're all here for each other.

Crysta I'm sorry you were delayed because of additional reviews too. I've never been given a time to wait for an answer. I don't know if that is good or bad. I would just be disappointed if that day came and went without approval. I wonder if our files got stuck with the same officer who picked on our files for whatever reason. We will get out of here. I am hoping both of us get out of here soon too! I hope you get an answer long before 1/28.
I'm sorry for you too that you have yet to hear anything back since you filed early Dec and I filed near the end of the month
I'm starting to think that is the case that both our cases are probably with the same officer and I'm wondering if there are any OTHER Dec 2016 filers besides us that are still stuck. It's just so ridiculous that it takes them this long to process applications yet they're already approving April filers
Granted, I am beyond happy they're receiving their approvals and are able to move past Hellbraska, but it just gets more and more discouraging every single day that passes without an approval.

Sundee - I've done all those things to only be told additional reviews needed to be done and once that is complete my petition would be approved. Which I've come to learn that additional review means background checks. Of course they don't tell tell you what is causing the additional review or when we went in background checks. They just say be patient. The last tier 2 I spoke to told me to stop calling (I've only called 4 times in a over the year since I filed ) and putting in service requests (I've put in 3 within that year). I've read that because my husband's first name is a a very common name that I can expect a very long background check. He has no criminal records, etc. I also read: The records maintained in the FBI name check process consist of administrative, applicant, criminal, personnel and other files compiled by law enforcement. Initial responses to this check generally take about two weeks. In about 80 percent of the cases, no match is found. Of the remaining 20 percent, most are resolved within six months. Less than one percent of cases subject to an FBI name check remain pending longer than six months.
I am just hoping we don't end up in the 1%.
All I know is I dislike this process very much. I think the system is severly broken. If I could fix it, I would. Even with extreme vetting, it should never take this long for a petition to approved. We are US citizens and we have the right to have our spouse with us.
Hang in there, I'm also a Dec filer still waiting too. They've told me the same thing as well to wait till 01/28 for an answer and that my case is currently pending adjudication and of course it was delayed due to additional reviews. *siiiigh*. We'll both get out of here some day...soon I hope :(

From my own personal experience and I went to both Congressman and both state senator's they don't care, they don't push anything on your behave, they only do the same thing you and I do, we just hope that if they do it, it might hold more merit but honestly it is nothing but a waste of time they do not help, well at least in my case they were uncaring and really unresponsive.
Thank you Khallaf and Sundee. I knew the voice in my head (being in Nebraska made me have little angry impatient voices in my head lol) was telling me to just wait and I just wanted someone else to tell me the same thing. LOL. Oooooh Nebraska you Hell whole making me go nuts!! LOL

Crysta if your Email says your case is being reviewed then it means an officer is looking at your case and is doing your background. Give it a few more days and I bet your going to get approval any day now..
I know it’s really hard waiting and waiting but your Day is coming...
Thank you Sundee. I've been telling myself that too since I've started getting the urge to get my congressman involved but kept putting it off. I'm going to continue to wait! <3

I'm not sure if I asked this yet, but I was wanting to get feedback. I submitted an "Out of Normal Processing Time" inquiry on 11/02 and received a response via email on 11/28 that my case is being reviewed by and office and to allow 60 days for an answer. Well, being as impatient as I am now with my one year mark coming up in a couple of days, would it be necessary to put in a request for my Congressman to reach out to USCIS on my behalf? Or should I just ride out the remaining 31 days since I received that email response and hope for an answer?

Today after 10 and a half months, we finally got approved.
Priority date: February 8th
USCIS notification received today, now to wait and start calling NVC in January. It's been such an emotional and difficult journey, thank you, everyone, for being here! and I hope that the ones waiting get their approvals soon. <3 Such great news for the holidays! Big hugs everyone
Woohoo! That is awesome news and what a great Christmas present. Congratulations!

I just spoke to a very unsympathetic Tier 2. She just read me the standard bull lines that I've been hearing for months. I asked to speak to someone else but she told me there was no other person I could speak to. Is that true? At least when I spoke to a Tier 2 a few weeks ago, that guy gave me hope (maybe false hope) and I felt he was trying to find me answers. I am so over this process! At 376 days since my PD!
You hang in there @Steph&Bobo and know that you are not alone in this. I am currently sitting at 354 days and was told via email that my case was being reviewed by an officer and to allow 60 days for a respond. That 60 days will of course put me way past my year mark just like you. There is a light somewhere at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there and we'll both get through it together!

But, when my wife called and spoke to Tier 2, they were able to look it up in their system, most recent update was last Thursday (as of last Monday), which brought slight comfort that somebody is actually working on it.
That is great! I hope you'll receive an answer soon. I just spoke to a tier 2 and of course I receive the same spill that I get from a tier 1. Currently under review by an officer and to continue to allow 60 days. eerrrgghhh

with them telling you that your case in under review, have you seen any status change when you check on your case with the app or online check with your case #.

Is exactly 1year today(DEC 13 to dec 13) and nothing. My husband made inquiry and he was told to wait for 60days again. And we don't even know if they will still give us RFE. I can't even face my family again bcos of this issue. How can one officer just seat on someone happiness since 1year now without review. Thinking of it alone is breaking me everyday. I don't think they understand the pain of been stagnant in one position.
I share your same pain @Oladipo.. my pd is Dec 30 and my one year mark is coming up soon and still nothing.
They did reply to my service request that my case is under review and to allow 60 days for an answer.. I am so impatient and I pray that I will receive an answer soon, and I pray the same for you! Hang in there!

no it was a tier 1, and when I called back to talk to a tier 2 they told me that they can't see that so I never should have been told that. I got so fed up in the last 2 days of calling that I placed a call to my congressman's office, gave them all the information I had about the Nebraska service center, and she told me she was going to make a few calls, and dig deeper into it and I would get a call back by Monday. I don't know how much weight the congressman's office is going to be able to do but it was worth a try. I am just beside myself that the other two service centers who process the same cases are into June and July approvals and here we are stuck in a black hole of Nebraska. I filed not one but 2 expedite request because of the ISIS threats and attacks and each time my request has been denied. I told them I fear for my husbands life. Guess they don't take ISIS threats too alarming. I have anxiety every day waiting to see if I will wake up and my husband still be alive
this wait is torture, and there isn't a single person that is working in the Nebraska center that even cares.
Hang in there @Khallaf! Each and everyone of us in this forum will eventually make it out of Hellbraska, but just know that we are all here for each other. Your husband will be home with you soon you just have to keep your head up. There are wonderful individuals in this forum that can answer most of your questions and even give advice or a friendly reminder that you will get through Hellbraska. One of those souls that I find to be my angel through this time right now is @Sundee. We're all sailing on the same boat and we must try our very best to keep our boat afloat. Hang in there!
