Yes she picked it up today. Though setting up the bank draft was a mess. She is going to meet a friend's mom who is a bank manager tomorrow.

    Ahhh good luck to you!

When she came to study in the US she had to present the bank with her visa and with the information from the university on the tuition costs. Nepal has super strict currency rules for taking money in and out of the country if you are a citizen or a foreigner. I just know she is nervous because she wants to make sure it is all in hand well ahead of time. To bring money here she either has to convert it to USD first or get a draft which is safer, she can't fly with more than $50 USD worth of Nepali Rupees.

Ah yeah that does sound difficult. I'm sure if I were in that position I would be the same and want to have it all sorted out ahead of time. Good luck to you guys! I'm sure we'll have our visas on hand soon!

We are sitting at the same stage, CEAC says issued as of the 17th. Information at the moment still shows her Passport is at the Embassy. She is getting nervous because her flight is in a week and she needs the Visa before she can get a bank draft because of Nepal's currency controls.

Yeah, sounds like we're playing the same waiting game. But wow! That would be nerve-wracking! Is it difficult to get the bank draft? Could she get that done the same day as VOH? Good luck to you!

  4. Hello everyone!

I just want to say thanks so much to @CopperChem @_Mia_ @rachied26 and @DrivinAForeign for the helpful insight!

Our CEAC status changed back to "Administrative Processing" the next day and then on Friday switched to "Issued"! We were super excited but knew we would have to wait until after the weekend for there to be any info from the courier service. But still no email from them today! We're super antsy because he's going to be flying out the day after VOH! Anyway, we were hoping to get an email today, then VOH tomorrow so he can have his POE on Wednesday but all that is being pushed back at least one more day. @_Mia_ it looks like we are still in very similar situations. I hope we both hear something soon!

But oh well! We are so close I really have so little to complain about. A HUGE congrats to all that are having their POE today! @rachied26 @S*UK

I can't wait to see even more good news coming in on here

    Hi @Salty2305 @PygmyPuff @S*UK @_Mia_

Wondering if you UK'ers could help.

I've finished collecting all the paperwork up for my K-1 and ready to schedule an interview at the London Embassy.

Did you guys submit an application of readiness before booking an interview. I see some of you have and some didn't. (Packet 3 sent)?

The Instructions here doesn't mention anything https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

But I found this link and wasn't sure if I still need to do this ahead of booking the appointment?

    https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/immigrant-visas-notification-applicant-readiness-form/.

Would you mind sharing with me if you did this step ahead of booking your appointment or not.

    Thanks,

    Sunj

Yes! Go ahead and submit the notification of readiness form before booking the interview!

Well, her status updated on CEAC today so hopefully they send her an e-mail to pickup the visa tomorrow/today for her. Beyond that, so far she thinks everything she has will fit in the luggage and be under weight. Unfortunately she has two more weeks until POE to fix that.

hahaha that's amazing. Yeah, dealing with luggage weight and size constraints can cause so much stress. I think that excitement will probably overpower any negative concerns like that, though!

We were approved today! Interview went pretty smoothly.  She will get her visa in a week or two. Next stop, POE!. Good luck to everyone waiting.

    Congratulations!!

Ok, so we called USCIS on September 11 and they told us we got an RFE. Bummer.

On September 12, the case tracker udpated, confirming that they mailed a request for additional evidence. After 2 weeks, we still hadn't received a letter, and after calling USCIS 2-3 times and requesting that they resend the RFE (which they didn't), my boyfriend contacted his congressman who was super helpful and nice. He contacted USCIS directly and attached the scanned RFE in his email on October 3. The only problem was that my bf's picture was too big. -___- So he got a new photograph and sent it via overnight express and DHL sent me a confirmation that CSC received our letter on October 4.

And today, the case tracker updated, with confetti raining down on my screen. No kidding.

Can you track your RFE response? They received ours the very next morning.

    Dankeschön.

Oh gosh that must have been terrible! I'm so happy it's all worked out for you now!!

In our case, Petitioner got emails from embassy until DS-160 then they switched up to the Beneficiary email address.

Keep calling the NVC every day, around 1130pm is easiest and end of the day.  Just keep busy with your medical, police clearance, and other etc's as much as possible while this is going on - you will be ahead of the game

Oh I didn't think we could book the medical without the new number from the NVC. Luckily we've already got the police certificate and all the other documentation together. :jest:

Not totally sure.  She scanned copy of her passport bio page and emailed it to them.  Called several times, eventually they had a record on the system of the email, gave her the nvc number.  It never got fixed at the nvc level.  It left NVC before they had time to fix it.  Frankly, it don't matter.  Your DS-160 is your application that matters.  It really is just a hiccup and it really didn't change anything time wise for her except delayed in getting the nvc number.  Your embassy emails you when it is 'Ready' so maybe that is tomorrow or the next day?????  Anyways, even tho you can't see your case moving, it still is.

She's super nice.  Send her a message - she'll reply to you.  Maybe she will have a pointer to give you to get the number faster :D

Thanks so much! That's helpful, I didn't realize the embassy emailed you when they got the case - that's super helpful!
