just checking in to say 'hello' to everyone.  We've been so busy with everything, just no time to lurk on VJ anymore (except at work here and there lol)  Glad to read the good news and sad to read the continuing struggles.....  Ann and I didn't have much difficulties with the process as compared to others but I can say with full confidence that the visa journey was soooooo worth it!  We are having the time of our lives.  I wish y'all continued success and best wishes but most of all....... Merry Christmas and Blessings on your New Year and New Lives Together

Monica woke me up this morning with the greatest news.  2Go has her Visa and she is going to pick it up tomorrow morning and be able to fly to the US either tomorrow night or Saturday morning depending on what ticket I can get her.

Yes @_Mia_, you are correct, finally.  Was beginning to think it may never happen and now it looks like I get an early Christmas present.  I am so happy right now.

Well Today is a much happier day than I have had in awhile.  Last night before going to bed on a lark I decided to check the CEAC site and guess what?

Now we just have to wait for VOH and she can come!!!  I am so excited.  It is finally becoming real.

@Mike & Tuyen, @Estibaliz and @_Mia_, I appreciate all your thoughts.  The good news is that CEAC changed to Application Received.  Hopefully it will change to Ready and then to Issued by Friday, but still have to wait for it to be delivered, so not much of a chance for her to come this weekend, but should be able to next week/weekend.

    Again, thank you all.

Keeping you and Monica in my prayers that you don’t have to spend another holiday waiting to be together. I know it’s possible to get through it quickly because mine was really quick. I know PI is different but hopefully they’ll finally find the right gear.

We did have one little hitch in Sheki’s consulate interview... the interviewing officer’s Albanian assistant decided he would do some more investigation after the officer approved her visa. By investigation I mean inappropriately calling her at all hours of the day. He even tried calling her after she had her visa in hand. She wouldn’t call and complain to the consulate because she was afraid of retaliation and she only had several days before she was leaving.

Thank you.  I am sorry that she had that happen.  Probably should report them, as that was highly inappropriate.  They definitely step over a line on that.

For me, there is nothing I can do, but spend more money on plane tickets to get her here when they finally figure it out, but it will most likely not be this weekend.  Maybe next weekend.  I have had to reschedule my time off 3 times now so that I will have some time with her when she arrives.  I do hope that it will be before Christmas.  Her sisters are planning on coming down for the wedding and are working on their Visa to get here for it.  It is a whole thing to get this done.

I appreciate the thoughts, as for Christmas, I have no idea if she will be or not.  It would be nice if they would have some sympathy, since they are the reason that it has taken longer, but that is not how they work.  After all it is just and extension of the US Government.

@Keith & Monica You would hope that they would have some sympathy for your plight and not drag their feet as it seems what is happening. I haven’t been on the forums much and hadn’t realized that you haven’t been reunited with Monica. Man, that sucks. Is she going to be able to make it here for Christmas?

Hiya, fellow Aprilites! It's been a while since I've been on VJ and was just trying to check in and read some more of the happy reunions. It's been crazy busy for me, Shehide, and our daughter Edona. We got married on November 1st two days after she arrived in Orlando. We've been working on our house in Oviedo (Orlando area) on the weekends and apartment searching through the week here in Jacksonville. My little one bedroom apartment in Jacksonville is way too small for the 3 of us so we have to upgrade. So this weekend doesn't look any different than the previous... moving at a breakneck pace with the move and all.

Shehide is acclimating well and loves it here. Edona is having a bit more problems because she's a 10 year old who has just left all of her friends and family behind (and she lived with a BIG family) She'll have a better chance of making friends once we settle into the new apartment and hopefully can adapt a little better then.

It's so nice to so many of my friends here being reunited with their sweethearts. I hope you are all experiencing the same happiness my journey has brought me.

I'm getting ready to file for AOS and EAD once Shehide's SSN comes in this next week. I was kind of blindsided when I tried to get a SSN for Edona and the SS office told me she wasn't eligible as a K2 applicant until she has her green card or has filed for EAD. Seems a bit odd filing an EAD for a 10 year old but if that's what it takes, oh well.

To the few that are still waiting, my heart and prayers go out to you. This process is difficult enough to endure without a prolonged wait.
