IR5 Jan filer here for both parents.

Does the processing time on USCIS indicate a rough start to finish of the petition OR is it until approved to be passed onto NVC for processing?

    NOA received Jan 4, 2023

one says 7 months until case decision, another says 9 months until case decision.

I Think it’s until approved to be passed onto NVC for processing.

Just wondering your reason for sending your mom's birth certificate and her marriage certificate?  Correct me if I am wrong, I believe the the sponsor's birth certificate would list your parents names showing family relationship.

Arhh, prior to uploading there’s a descriptive part stating to upload marriage certificate if there was any name change- My mom name on the my birth certificate has her maiden name only & I’m filing in her married name ( if that makes sense). So I decided to just send those to prevent any unnecessary confusion.

    Thanks Much :)

so you did not include any pictures taken with your mom or text messages?

I know this question might sound stupid, sorry :(

Lol nah , I just upload what they asked for but in reference to your question someone replied in a previous post saying when it comes to parents , we don’t have to show “proof” of a bonafide relationship due to our birth certificates. What would be prob more of a concern is if the beneficiary had a B1/B2 visa and they overstayed their time/ caught working , giving birth to a US citizen child in the pass etc which may hinder an approval/denying of the I-130 application. 🤷🏾‍♀️

    Good morning everyone,

Could you please please let me know what other supporting documents you submitted along with I-130 form for your parents?

I am about to file for my mother

    Thank you so so much

    Hey

For my moms filing . I sent my naturalization certificate, passport page, birth certificate and marriage certificate (since I have a name change)

And my moms birth certificate and marriage certificate ( since she has a name change as well). This was actually one of the simplest supporting documents since K-1/AOS Lol.

  6. Recently took my N-400 interview, passed the civics , reading and writing portions and recommended for approval BUT my interviewing  officer states my original folder is missing / they can’t locate it , only a copy / temporary was available during my interview thus a decision couldn’t be made &  I couldn’t part take  in the same day Oath Ceremony UNTIL ITS DISCOVERED😔. Has anyone ever heard or experienced this before ???? What if it’s not found ???

Finally had my oath ceremony in Atlanta last Friday. It was a solemn experience. I literally chocked repeating the words from the oath of allegiance. All covid protocols were observed, we sat 6ft apart and were masked. The whole thing lasted about 20 minutes. Then we were offered the opportunity to register as voters. I did. Felt good selecting "yes" to the are you a US citizen question.

I know it's still a bit of a waiting game for many. Hang in there, the day does finally arrive and when it does it will be well worth it.

Congratulations again! We’re family allowed to the Oath Ceremony? My office is ATL as well.
