Good, just make sure that you don't pay for tickets until you have your visa in hand. Anything can happen.

Neither. The US Embassy/Consulate approves immigrant visas; they do not issue green cards.  He will get a CR-1 immigrant visa. 

If he enters the US after your 2nd wedding anniversary with his CR-1 visa, he will get a 10 years green card.
 
If he enters the US before your 2nd wedding anniversary with his CR-1 visa, he will get a 2 years conditional green card.

Here's my honest opinion:
Ignore visits/trips bla bla .. save that money .. get married, live in Egypt for a year (at least) as a married couple .. that is if you intend to file for a CR-1, which is for couples who have been married for 1~2 years, to get approved on the spot.
K1 is dead like someone said. It used to be faster, but now with new changes it will be as equal to CR-1, or even worse (because now they know that ppl knew it was/used to be faster).
File for a FOIA before filing for a CR1 or any other immigration case to find out exactly why you were denied, to avoid it in future petitions.

You say the K1  is faster but look how long you have been waiting and now you would have to start all over again. If you spend more time getting together and then get married you may very well have a stronger case. Contrary to popular believe the K1 is not a better visa. The benefits of a CR1 far outweigh the K1. Yes, the K1 is faster but by only a few months. But then look your situation. It ended up not being faster.

Its ok as long as you could get married and live in egypt until you get visa  .. but remember..  K1 visa is  much faster than  CR1 (Maybe two years)

I know, but we wont be waiting around indefinitely to start our lives. It is what it is at this point. And as we Egyptians say, a person doesnt learn for free.  I would rather be on AP married with my fiance then waiting around on AP not knowing if and/or when he may get the visa. I wish there were people on VJ who were on AP out of Cairo and can say they got off eventually and received the visa, but not one person expressed that happening to them.

My fiance and I are thinking of getting married and retracting our K1 visa. It is hard to believe after all the hard work we put into applying for the visa to have been put on AP now. So at this point we are going to give it some additional time but are looking to get married and apply for the spouse visa. 

no , nothing new for me , i called them today to see if i can get any new information , but it was just a waste of time 

@C.ezz you filed a few days before me, I am a 12/9 filer. We just sent our documents to the embassy today. How long after did they email you to pay for the visa and schedule your interview? I  didnt see your packet 3 dates on your timeline. Our NOA2 was only approved a few weeks ago on 8/4, so we waited a very long time. Scared we will have to wait even longer on AP, though  we have all of the docs and are case is pretty straightforward. 

The reason why I gave you the information before is because I assumed you already sent USCIS all taxes and all required forms. I'm also assuming you're a K1 Fiance Visa I-129F petitioner.
It's not clear to me why the embassy asked for another I-134.
However, in all cases you can do what I did: message the embassy and find out if there any other documents remaining required (they may say wait 2 weeks to review your documents, bla bla). And when you get the "everything is OK". That's when YOU schedule the appointment on ustraveldocs.com/eg.
FYI, I didn't wait for them to send me a packet or for them to tell me I can schedule my appointment. I just did.
After messaging them about basic interview documents that I should get (e.g.: medical exam), I scheduled my appointment right away.

Hey Everyone,
I wanted you all to learn about my recent interactions with the NVC.
I called supervisors at the NVC and they called me back several times too for follow ups. They say that the case is fine and everything is OK. It's the embassy's fault for any delay and that we should "call" them to know what's going on.
 
Looks like this is the new norm, extra delay in Middle Eastern embassies.

I wanted to share with you today this article. It highlights "extreme vetting" facts, implemented by dumb trump. I came across it before but didn't think it'd apply to any of us, but seems that I was wrong.
However, I was right when I said before that changes in administration staff is the main cause. Not just in presidency, and other 3-letter agencies like DoS, but also in the embassies overseas. They had to put/replace staffers who are willing to enforce their new rigorous regulations.
Also, the article mentions form DS-5535 which is sometimes requested from some people at the interview nowadays and since March, 2017. The forms has fields for information such as your Social Media platforms, previous travel history in past 15 years, and other background check-related stuff (and violation of privacy).
 
What does it all mean? Nothing but longer waiting times for all visa categories under the pretenses of "extreme vetting" and "background checks", unfortunately.
