    Viel Glueck!

Its good to see you too! It feels like it was so long ago we were in the k1 forum! Life is good, I adjusted pretty well and didn't suffer from any home sickness thankfully. I brought my dog with me so she has been my little slice of home ❤ How have you been?

I can't complain either. It's a bit odd to have my very active life slowing down from 100 to zero. But I'm glad I'm not homesick!
Yeah, true, it feels like forever! Last year we just started this whole craziness a while ago, and now we're waiting again haha

I completely agree, I came on a K1 back in November. Currently waiting on AOS and I can honestly say I've been the most chilled out in a long time. I'm just happy to be here with my husband, I check the mail once a week and never check the case tracker, it's like I'm a whole new woman

Same here, haha! Since I've reached the day 100 mark I check my tracker every day, but that's it! What will come, will come. We all been through longer waits... oh hold on, no! My NOA2 came after 93 days :jest:

Good to see you again! How is life for you? Adjusting well? :)

It seems like a lot of January filers have been getting impatient with their EADs, and I noticed it's mostly those adjusting from B2. Is this visa generally quick to obtain?

As someone adjusting from a K1 visa, I am not expecting my EAD at around day 70 something (getting an interview sched was more of a miracle) and I see fellow K1 visa holders aren't getting impatient as well. I think it's because they know how looong this process can take. And the AOS process is supposed to be longer! At least now we're with our spouses, so the wait isn't as stressful as when we we applied for the K1.

Just hang in there, fellow January filers, and don't keep checking your case as it'll just stress you out. Many 2017 filers are still waiting. Enjoy all your free time with your partner, start a new hobby, try something new, learn new things! Once you get your EAD, you'll wish you didn't spend this waiting time stressing out so much. :)

I'm on day 99, coming from a K1 as well. Not impatient yet! :)

I guess we're more used to waiting :P

When I was around day 70 I didn't even bother checking the status of my applications.

I honestly think that those update are just a bunch of BS. I have seen people get approved in 1 month and some in 1 year. It seems to be a hit or miss.

I am just wondering if I should apply for I-131 or not. I should have done it with EAD. I want to travel in October and looking at current processing times reported by VJ users I think it is unlikely that I will have my GC by then...

If I was you I would submit the AP application. You never know how long it will take to get the actual GC.
Can't hurt having it. Even if you might end up not needing it.

    Driver's License

Did anyone have any issues with their driver's license? Was at the DPS just now to register for the application of a driver's license since I got a car recently. The driver's license from my country is only valid up till 90 days after entry.

Anyway, the staff pointed out that my I-94 is only valid till 04/22, which is next month. I told her that my I-148 & I-765 are pending still. She said something like I would have to come back and renew it again once immigration update my status. I didn't have a chance to ask more as I was ushered to the next station.

The question here is will my license be valid up till 04/22? There is nothing else to do whilst waiting for the reply from USCIS right?

Great! My appointment is on the 28th. Received the letter a few days ago.

I can only speak for VA.
I, being a military spouse can drive with my German license, because they have an agreement.

I wanted to go get me a DL anyways, but got rejected, because my I-94 only had 23 days left, they needed 30.

So, that matches with what I heard from people from other states.

The DMV needs something with an expiration date. So they would give a DL out, only valid as long as the I-94. Pointless, because likely the EAD won't be there to be a legit basis to renew the DL.

Resume: You will have to wait and go back with your EAD/AP card.

I decided to call. Nothing was happening with my case apparently as per the uscis lady on the phone. So she put in a service request to the office in my jurisdiction and only because i was over the 90 days. She said it will take up to 15 days for them to respond. Hopefully that helps if not I wait anyways.

    Cross my fingers

Good luck, keep me updated! :)

Have you called uscis at all? I'm wondering if it would be worth a shot.

    No I haven't!

Signed up for myuscis account today, but it says the same as my trackers. And the timeline here on VJ is at end of March/second week of April for both.
And since I saw plenty approvals after 105-110 days I'll give it two more weeks before I start inquiring.

    Will you?

It’s pretty straight forward, you can either check like you would online or add your case numbers and it sends notifications when there’s a change... however as you can see from my first post, the changes aren’t necessarily changes!!!

I've read from someone the other day - don't remember who and where - they had the same "issue" which turned out to be an approval in the mail.
Brace yourself - something nice might be coming! :)
Good luck from someone surprisingly patient on day 94 since bio! :)

I got approved!!! Finally!!! Today, i talked to tier 2 officer again, and she told me that my ead is in production. I am so relieved. She said call us back on tuesday or wednesday, and we can give tracking number.

By the way, both online case status page and myaccount.uscis page still shows received. But, this morning app showed me an alert that there is change in my case. It showed no change, but I got approved, yeeyy:)

    Congratulations! Finally!
I hope your job is waiting for you (yeah I followed this thread quite silent)!

Let me also point out that can an employed spouse (basically cuz of no ead) jointly file for tax with the other employed spouse... I guess this goes to the K1 AOS filers like @tearsofBabylon with SSN but no ead.. @tearsofbabylon could you please indicate if you filed for tax jointly with your spouse regardless of the fact that you haven't worked since you've been here due to no ead yet?

Agreed with the others up there.
You can add a dependent, even if this dependent doesn't work.
    We didn't file jointly though.

    But... just to mention.
If Wayoo's I-94 is expired he/she has to wait until the EAD is here. SSA only gives out a SSN basing on the K1 visa as long as the admission is not expired.

I got my SSN the week after I arrived here.
