SCOOCHY 1 got a reaction from Joyoussinger in AOS RFE HELP PLEASE!!!
Thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it. I've sent my friend this information. As I recall, I think transcripts were preffered but i've also asked her if she submitted 1099 or not.

When she submits all this does she have to send a new application? She doesn't want to pay all that again!

It's not an RFE, that's an RFIE - Request for Initial Evidence. Which means they didn't include something they had to include. It's kinda more serious. I got pretty much the same letter, and my husband is self employed as well.

One of the most popular mistakes self-employed sponsors make is they put gross income instead of total income. It doesn't matter how much money he earned last year, what important is how much money left after deduction. If that make sense. I don't remember exactly how it calls. But I can check where to find this number in taxes.

The problem with my case was I didn't include form 1099. I found out about that just because I hired a lawyer, otherwise it's hard to get what they need from you because the letter is kinda the same for everyone :).

PS English is my second language, so forgive me my mistakes.

This has nothing to do with which version of the form she used. It's pretty specific in what they need. She should just follow the directions and send them what they're asking for, even if she has to send duplicates of evidence she already submitted. They want tax forms and supporting evidence for the most recent tax year. She can send her husband's 1040, but transcripts from the IRS would be better. Make sure you've signed the form. Good luck!

You were right.  The interview was just about 15 minutes, but the wait was too long, both before and after the interview.  The journey is finally over !!  Thanks for sharing your experience.

You will do well the interview is about 15 minutes nothing to worry about. The questions are easy just make sure you know who the governor of your state is and representative.
    Wishing you the best!

So all went well. Be prepared for a long day. My appointment was at 8:30am and the actual interview took place at 10:40am. Oath is on the same day for Newark Office - ceremony three times a day at around 11:00am, 2pm & 4pm

I will write a longer review later 😊
    I'm now a citizen yay!

Not from New York but no, interview and oath ceremony will not take place at the same day, normally it will be 4-6 apart (so they can do your request for name change if applicable and print/prepare your certificate).

The Newark office is in New Jersey not NY, as for same day oaths this office & the one in Mount Laurel NJ both do same day oaths.

More oath info... this doesn't come up very often, but I've read a few posts about people being uncomfortable with the wording of the Oath of Allegiance.
USCIS allows you to take a modified oath based on two objections.
1- If you object to word "swear" and the phrase "so help me god" because of religious beliefs or lack thereof, you can ask to "affirm" instead of "swear" and you can drop the "so help me god" phrase at the end. This only requires you to tell your interviewer that you want a modified oath. In many jurisdictions, they don't schedule a separate ceremony for you, they just ask you to leave out the parts in question when you repeat the oath.
2- If you object to performing military-related services on behalf of the US, you are required to explain your religious objection to doing so and to get a letter from your religious organization stating that this is their position. A few years ago, an English atheist applicant asked for this modification, but was unable to provide a religious document. USCIS refused to naturalize her and she sued them. Two years later, the courts ordered USCIS to naturalize her and she became a citizen.
Here is the USCIS information on modified oaths:
