you definitely don't need a visa to go to the UK now.

for returning to the us, in addition to your AP card and passport, you shouldn't need anything else, but to be on the safe side, maybe pack a folder in your carry-on with all your AOS supporting docs.

Thank you! I didn't think I would need an additional visa to my passport I just need reassurance :)

and I just put all my confirmation paperwork in my backpack :)

  2. Quick question for anyone who has travelled with their EAD/AP combo card..... I'm from the UK, this is going to sound like a stupid question but I'm not going to need a tourist visa or anything like that to travel to the UK, my passport is still good for being a citizen ?

Also do I need any other documents to be able to get back into the US other than my EAD/AP combo card :)?

No update on EAD after 91 days. And in light of court rulling yesterday, Persians (even Jewish Persian like me) are impacted. Probably they will halt processing our files.

    Good luck

No don't worry about it. It's illegals that he is concerned with.... not going to be causing any problems for anyone who is in the country and immigrating legally :) There is a lot of march filers with higher than 91 day wait times, a lot of early march filers still waiting for EAD/AP notices. Don't freak yourself out over it. :)

    Good morning everyone!

I just got my EAD in the mail last saturday.
Now, my next step is going to Social Security to do a change name and removal of conditions with the social security with my existing social security card. Would you guys know which documents I need and do I need photocopies for it?

Thanks you and I hope everbody's doing well 1f642.png

How do you know if your SS has conditions on it? I have a SS from a previous working visa, do I need to go to the SS office to present my EAD and have them connect the two, or will they just know that I'm eligible to work?

  5. Hey guys, I don't post on here very often but I'm a march/april filer....

This week I received notice that my EAD has been approved (see signature for full timeline), thought I'd update you guys, although there are still a lot of early march filers who are yet to hear an update on their EAD, hopefully this will spread some positivity amongst you april filers that the time is getting close for it to be the april filers time to get their EAD approvals :)

I called USCIS about it last Friday and let them transfer me to an IO and she said that since I have no co-sponsor but my husband is my main sponsor who makes enough money for the both of us and signed those papers I will not get an expedite approved based on a job offer (she pretty much said there's no way for me to expedite).

I've known this though because I had looked into it before and there's been threads from the Jan and Feb AOS Filers who had the same problem (people without co-sponsor got their expedite refused).

oh okay, yeah that makes sense. I'm sorry about that. Well hopefully you'll hear something soon

Of course I wasn't serious about the punishing part!! Haha

yeah i know comparing is something I shouldn't do and I actually didn't bother about it until recently but it's also easy to say when you are well within the processing times and haven't been waiting for 113 days and have a job offer that might not be available anymore if I don't get that paper soon. You would think that in the 21st century USCIS would have a system that just pulls the oldest submitted application to get processed but they just seem to randomly seem to select people.

I wish you all the best and I'm really hoping on seeing my approval this week as well.  😊

if you have a job offer, why don't you use that and expidite your EAD?

Thank you for your wishes, and my thoughts are with you in hoping you get some positive news this week.

    Congrats! 😊😊

Im starting to wonder whether UsCIs is trying to punish me because of all the service requests I've been raising. Lol

I submitted my documents a month before you and answered to the RFIE in March and you did in May and you got your card already while I'm still waiting...

They aren't going to punish someone they don't even know, thats just silly..... and honestly I used to compare my timeline all the time to everyones, and it would frustrate me too, but bottom line is that no one knows how USCIS choose the order of what they process. Positivity and patience is key for this process. Your time will come :)

i really need my work. i am getting bullied by my husbands brother in law. i wanna move out. but we can't do that if we both don't work. I hope i will get my work permit soon.

we are staying with my husband's mom's house atm.

Don't worry! I get it, we all aren't in the same boat here, everyone is gettinf anxious and just ready to work to become a regular human again, but all this waiting is the price we have to pay if we want this for our future with our partners.

Your work permit will be here soon, so until then just try and keep yourself busy, worrying about it and constantly comparing your timeline to others will only make your anxiety worse.

    :)

So odd that your case was already updated with interview update even though your RFIE was much later that my wife's.

Well if there is one thing I have learnt from this experience, its not to compare every tiny detail of my own cases to others, because it only leads to disappointment when you see things like this. This forum is for supporting each other, but honestly, our RFIE timeline isn't 'much later', mine is only 6 days later..... and honestly when I was searching the forum to see generally how long I would be waiting for a response, I've seen people wait 30 days, so I was shocked that I got a response so quickly. But don't panic, your response will come soon. :)
