I put in a service request on the phone yesterday, but it is still says that my case isn't assigned.

They did ask me whether my EAD was being filed alongside an adjustment from a H visa.... so potentially you might not be able to, but it never hurts to ring and ask, the worst they can tell you is no..... but the best outcome is that you are allowed to put in a service request

you just USCIS and you ask to put in a service request, it says on their website that you can put one in after your application has been pending for 75 days with no actions taken

The first time it was a really simple request. My father in law needed to send a proof that we all are living at the same address. In the time we filled he was living in their second house. We even went to USCIS to ask exactly what we need so I doubt we didn't send everything. Maybe it is my birth certificate, or taxes from this year, or..ooooh I really don't know... I know it is frustrating, but just try remain calm, have you taken up ahobby or anything since you aren't working..... I have loads of good TV shows if you need any recommendations for something to watch to keep your mind off it.... I've always really enjoyed writing, and actually had a book published, so i figured as I have something so fresh to write about I'm actually documenting my journey for my own personal reference and in the future I can look back over it, so every time something happens I open up my word document, and type, its like my own story, maybe you could do the same, I find it is a postive way to keep me excited about the journey, and where I am going, rather than focusing on the negative what ifs.  

I really hope that it is something simple for you  As it is a RFIE for you 485 I would still try and ring to placce a service request, because I was told my RFIE was going to pause my progress on any applications filed concurrently, but not reset my EQAD processing time, but I was told to ring today and put in aservice request, and I told them I had a RFIE on my 485 but was told it was going to affect my EAD and she said let me have a look, looked and said it was fine. So you never know, at this point just try and focus on the future and your end goal, the opportunities it will offer you and the doors it may open. Bottom line is this entire process means that you can be with the love of your life, it is going to be totally worth the wait in the end

I'm so sorry to hear that.... but honestly it will be anyone's guess what the RFIE could be for, my guess would be that maybe they are still missing something from the first RFIE, or that whoever sent you the original RFIE didn't read through your entire application, just realised something was missing issued the RFIE, and now after receiving the required evidence, review the application again and got further and realised there is something else missing...... but honestly do not panic...... it is all guess work with USCIS, you will receive your RFIE in the mail in a couple days and have a solid answer for what they need from you. I know it is frustrating, but it is going to be so worth it in the long run, and you will be that little step closer to being a regular human once again ::)

Called USCIS today regarding my wife's EAD. Long story short, since we did get RFIE for AOS the time resets for AOS and all concurrent pending applications. The lady told that we should be expecting a status update within 75 days of RFIE response received date. If we don't get response within that time then we can do a service request. i know this sounds odd, but maybe try ringing again tomorrow and see if you speak to someone different, i've heard this alot before where people have had RFE/RFIE and called and been told no they cant put in a service request, called back another day and it has gone through fine. Perfect example of this is that I got an RFIE for my I-485 and when I rang to confirm all the details of the evidence I was going to send back and make sure it was ok, I was told that my RFIE only paused concurrently filed applications, and wasn't going to reset them and specifically told me if I didn't hear anything to call on the 12th June to put in a service request, I called today, and the lady put in my request. It sounds bad but it seems to be dependent on who you speak to as to whether you are allowed to do certain things. 

So maybe try calling again tomorrow and see what they say

Today is day 87 so fingers crossed  for this week and for everyone else's EAD that still on hold and really close to 90 days. Especially for those that are over 90 day!! Let this week be a great one for all of us!!

when did you call to put in the service request, I've just rang today, as it is past the 75 day mark, but like you I'm not expecting much, as ther eare so many people waiting over 90 days for their EAD right now that I've very much aware its going to still be a while before I have my EAD in my hand.... but what I keep remembering is I am closer every single day to get that work permit, and sooooo much closer than what I was at the beginning of this process, and there has been so many times where i've just wanted to give up. But we are almost there guys! one step closer everyday!!!

yeah i did know about that, I just feel like the people I've seen that put them in online have had to ring again after 90 days, where as the people who rang on day 75 get a better result.

I know! I'm always totally in shock when people say that the USCIS lost their evidence or their application.... like thats so bad.... what happens to it,  does it just fall behind a desk somewhere..... like I'd love to go visit the NBC and see their organisation and processing system

Awesome, thats good to know. I mean I'm still waiting to hear back whether they accepted what we sent, they told us we needed a joint sponsor, because part of my husbands income was financial aid, which they didn't accept so we got the RFIE, and since we sent the application he got a new job, but hasn't had it for 6 months so they wouldn't accept that income, so we had to get a joint sponsor, we asked his grandad but his income is all retirement money, and the lady on the phone told us we could use that, but then we also included assets which he owns his house, so we are hoping that even if the officer who is processing our case decides not to accept the income he gets, the assets should be enough as the assets are over the poverty guideline.

I'm just really hoping that my RFIE gets accepted, and then that will allow my EAD to continue being processed again.

Thanks for the response, so you think its likely that they would have sent all of the mistakes that needed fixing in one go.... I know I need to get my medical done, but I'm leaving it until they are ready to schedule my interview (don't want the medical to expire) 

It's been 2 weeks since they received my response and updated my online status, I am really hoping for an update soon.

Anyone who got an RFIE/RFE how long did it take for your status to change from 'Response to Request for evidence has been recieved' to something else..... I dont know, what comes after that? Am I liking to get another RFIE, or would they tell me all mistakes in one go?

I love great British bake off, its like an annual event for us brits anytime a new season starts at home, EVERYONE watches it, and then its all anyone will talk about the next day. I'm definitely excited to try the chocolate avocado cake, but I'm concerned as to how the avocado will affect the taste and texture. I mean it's meant to replace the butter and oil in cake, so thus less calories, but if it doesnt have the same flavor as butter will it over power the chocolate? I guess i'll find out when I make it. But I'll defo let you know, and post the recipe i used along with photos and taste review if anyone else is a chocolate lover like me and wants to use all this spare time we have to make it too. 

Thats cool that you volunteer with the fire service. I just volunteer at an animal shelter, but I love it cos it means I get to hang out with dogs all day, and help them find their new forever homes.

Thanks for the driving practice website, I'm definitely going to be using that. I have a friend who has already gone through this entire process, and said that the transition from driving in the UK to US is super easy in terms of the written, we just have to get used to more cars, and driving on the other side of the road.

I'm just checking my status more and more this month, and I also find my constantly checking the processing times to see what date EAD the are processing.

Just follow the directions on the RFE's, and remember if they send the RFE it means they're working on your case! Don't let your hopes go down!

Go and take a walk, I have been improving my cooking and baking (It has helped lots), I've been practicing my driver's writing test, I have really good recommendations on Netflix and books lol! Just let's be patient!

Netflix and hulu have been my savour, I have caught up on so many films and shows that I've always wanted to watch but just never had the time til. I also started volunteering, just so I could at least justify my break from employment, and thinking about using this last portion of waitinf for my EAD to start learning ASL. I'm right there with you on the baking, I've been trying to get a kick start on clean/healthier eating, and I found a recipe for avocado chocolate cake (I LOVE chocolate cake) so really excited to try that. 

probably should practice my written portion of my driving test, what are you using to practice?

you are just feeling guilty for thinking about how many times you check it a week....... I lose count how many times I check it a DAY!!! Some days I'm totally fine, but then other days, I'm so impatient, want an update like right now!

What kind of RFIE did you get, have you tried to put in a service request and been denied, because I got RFIE on my I-485 and was told that it hasn't affected my EAD processing time.
