PR&PR got a reaction from Tella&T in September 2017 AOS Filers
    Hey guys!
Look what I woke up to!
I got a text message from USCIS and when I checked it was that my card is being produced!

The new website still does not reflect that though.

Annoying indeed! I actually sent my documents within the 60 days mark but they registered it 3 days later! How frustrating...
oh well it is an easy fix and in the grand scheme of thing not worth worrying too much!
let’s stay positive and hopefully I get my approval as a Christmas gift :).

They told me to send it 90-120...I went with 90 since I want my EAD/AP to be valid as long as possible. You would think they handle renewal quicker than original application.
We have been waiting for our green card interview for over a year, so yeah reapplying for what we did is not a top priority and is really a waste of everybody's  time.
So upsetting they force us to go through this again.

There is an option to expedite if I can demonstrate that not getting the AP in time would cause financial hardship or humanitarian hardship. I did the math and on top of the cost of the flights ($1600) it would also cost me around $2000 to take unpaid leave to travel when my AP does come through (and the cost of the flights again / so an estimated $5000-$6000 in total.
My daughter has had some health issues and is likely to take it very badly if I can’t make it for Christmas - it would undoubtedly affect her health / but it would be a lot of hassle to get a doctors letter to that effect. I am hoping that gathering enough evidence will help get it expedited. I wonder how successful others have been / or if anyone else is in a similar situation? I am annoyed that my PD date is nearly two and a half weeks AFTER the date of receipt of my application. This buys USCIS more time. When I applied the first time, processing time was supposed to be 90 days so I was shocked to discover that it is now 4/6 months. I sent my application 5 months and three weeks ahead of my travel date - you would think that should be long enough?
thanks for your feedback. On another forum someone was just downright rude and told me I should have sent it sooner and that I had only given myself four months and that wasn’t enough time.

don't lose faith there is still more than a month for the EAD to get there.
Maybe give them a call or make an appointment with your office to see if y ou could get a stamp of some sort?

From what I have read, you only get the notice saying an update or interview was scheduled, you will get the actual date in the letter only.

I was confused for a moment, and then I realized you probably went a different route than me. I did a K1 visa, so there was no way I could have waited for the medical as I had to send it in to get the K1.

As promised this is the checklist I created of documents to bring to the interview, 98% of which they never asked for at the interview.  One thing you can likely count on:  If you don't bring something, they will probably ask for it.

I created it based on the the instructions in the interview notice.  If you use this checklist, I would also suggest that you first compare it with your own interview notice and make any necessary additions.  The file in the zipped file is in RTF format -- open with either Wordpad or Word.

My husband and I attended our interview in Chicago yesterday and his green card is now in production! The interview was quick and simple. We were not approved 'on the spot', but I did get the case update via text a few hours after the interview. It was cool seeing our file on the officer's desk that had all of our immigration documents in it. I don't remember sending such a huge K1 packet, but I guess I did!

I also noticed that the top of our file folder had a yellow piece of paper stapled to it that said "Interview Waived" on it...I wonder if our interview would have been waived had the rules not changed? Well, that is all just speculation now. I'm looking forward to a nice 2 year break from USCIS.

Good Luck! As far as the name on the bill, I had some issues too for the verification, we had to email them proof of identities and it worked. Talk to them and see what they need in order to verify your identity.

Hey @mushroomspore & @Canelita, once your interview is ready to be scheduled. it means it's at or getting to your local office for them to finally schedule it ...At least that was my understanding and what I have been told by tier 2...

Man that Sucks. I know how you feel cuz I’ve been waiting as well. After multiple calls and service requests, we received an RFE. We called a week after they received it what they requested and they told us to wait for a month and call Back. We finally received a notification yesterday sayd EAD is being produced. It took 8 months. Couldn’t be happier! Good luck and keep us updated.
