SkruDe got a reaction from Willy Wilcox in January 2017 I-129F Filers
Update:
My fiance had her medical exam today in Bogota, Colombia. All appears to have gone well and she was able to pick up her packet of results in the same day! She did have to get 3 shots. Chicken Pox was one of them. I think one of them was the Flu also, which it's not Flu season so I don't know why she had to take that one, but she did. And I'm not sure what the third one is.
Anyways, it appears all is well and now in 1 week I fly down to see her and in 1 week and 1 day we have our interview at the Embassy together!
So close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SkruDe got a reaction from Drillerone in Questions regarding Form I-134 Affidavit of Support
I started filling out the I-134 Affidavit of Support and have so many uncertainties and questions....
This is all referencing the most current I-134 form Revision 11/30/16 (As shown on lower left corner of each page)
Part 1 Question 12. This question is under a heading "Citizenship or Residency or Status". This heading has questions 11a thru 11e, and then question 12. Questions 11a thru 11e, I don't have to answer because I am a birth citizen to the USA. But I'm confused if question 12 is just a continuation of questions for NON-US citizens that had to fill out 11a thru 11e, or if I have to answer it as a birth US citizen? The question is "I am (fill in age here) years of age and have resided in the United States since (Date). For the questions about beneficiary spouse and children (which is no spouse, no children) do I leave those lines blank or right N/A or right None? And questions about my dependents (which I have none) do I leave blank or say None? Part 3 Question 5. Value of my personal property. Obviously, this excludes my house since that is another question. But kind of of info do you put here? If I have positive equity on my car loan, should I enter that positive equity as value of my personal property? Part 3 Question 6. Market Value of stocks and bonds. Are you able to put 401k here or no because it's retirement money and not readily liquid money? Part 3 Question 8b. Are they asking for total amount left to pay on the mortgage loan? Or what my mortgage payments are? Part 3 Question 22a and 26a. 22a asks about previously submitted Affidavits of Support, so I know that is a NONE for me because I never submitted one before. BUT.... 26a for "submitting visa petitions to USCIS on behalf of the following persons" it DOES NOT say previously submitted. So am I to write in my fiances name here? And lastly, and this might be a stupid question. For my phone number. It asks for Daytime phone and Mobile phone. Both phones are the same for me. Should I put the same number in twice?
Thank you to anyone who can help me!!!

SkruDe got a reaction from Willy Wilcox in Heads up on Colombia Embassy Website
Thank you for this information. My petition is at the NVC right now and soon will be traveling to the Bogota consulate.
I have a couple questions for your if you don't mind....
You mentioned to schedule everything over the phone once you have the DS-160 filled out. When can you fill out the DS-160? Do you HAVE to wait for the packet to arrive from the consulate to your fiance? Or can you do it once your petition says "Ready" at the CEAC?
Will that phone call be able to schedule fingerprinting and medical in addition to the interview?
What comes in that packet from the consulate? Any action items? What can she expect?
I'm just trying to find ways to save as much time as possible. Luckily my fiance does live in Bogota. So travel isn't an issue.

Pleased to report that we FINALLY have our case number! I called this morning and they didn't have it, but we spoke to the same agent just now who confirmed our number. At long, long last. CC: @eastcoastgroove

Hello everyone! Happy to announce that my fiancé's visa was approved this morning 😊 Went to the interview with him. There was a bit of a delay during his pre-screening because they could not find his case file. Turns out his case was sent electronically so all they had was an empty folder with a sticker (I am not sure what the numbers were (might be his case number/petition number etc) 😅 Anyway, after they found it, everything was smooth. 😊
So to all the others who got approved, say late April to early May, whose case is in Manila, Philippines, if they can't find your case file, tell them right away that it might have been sent electronically. Either they are not aware of the new system or they are still getting used to it. We got passed around from window to window just because they can't find his file. Got scared for a bit that they might not have received it (maybe the "ready" status was a glitch) or maybe they really lost it. 😅 So just let them know that it might be in a different container/box/shelf because it might have been sent electronically 😊
So glad to be finally done with the interview. Can't wait for the visa to come.
Sorry if my thoughts are all over the place.
Updating my timeline in a bit 😊

dbmathis here.
Today was root canal day for me. I had a run in with a crappy dentist three weeks ago, who sent me to the ER after drilling into my sinus and pouring bleach into it. Today I had a specialist go in and fix all that damage, so I was extremely nervous and scared about today. However, I woke up and checked the informed delivery and there it was. The golden Wonka wrapper, the USCIS letter.
I didn't tell my fiancee because 1) until I opened that letter it could have been and RFE and 2) I wanted to record a video of me opening the letter so that she and I could get the good news at the same time.
I sat through the 1.5-hour root canal cleanup job, staggered out of there and headed toward home toward that mailbox. About 5 minutes from the house I started recording a video and talking like nothing was up. Then as I pulled into home, I changed my tone to be much more excited and told her that I hope to have a surprise for her. I walked to the mailbox, pulled out the letter so that the camera could see it, walked to the car and got in, took a deep breath and NOA2!!!!
Received: Jan 31
NOA1: Feb 2
NOA2: June 7
Please hang in there everyone who is still waiting. I know how hard it is, but the good news is on the way. I have said it before, and I will say it again, you all are the strongest and greatest people I know.

Hello January filers! My fiancee and I are November filers, but we were just approved, today we just received our NOA2 and found out we were approved.
Is it safe to say that more or less the NVC is receiving cases on average just over 2 weeks after approval? Thats what I seem to be seeing from recent approval timelines.

We received our NOA2 by mail today 💃. I cannot be any more happier. I woke up by the call of my fiancé at 5 am 😍. I hope everyone who's stuck get out soon.
The fact is it had been approved on May 30th, but we obly found out by post! The website still doesn't work and we called USCIS (after the approval), they claimed that they're still working on our case and the timeline is correct. Ugh! Why do they do this to us?!
We spoke to tier 1, we asked to speak to tier 2, he didn't permit it and said tier 2 would say the same thing 🙄. If the same thing happens to you, insist on speaking to tier 2.
We didn't set a consulate, where can we find out which embassy to go?
Oh, and what's the next step?🙈 So sorry for asking. Should I do anything while waiting for the NVC number?

To give some hope to any other January filers still waiting for NOA2...we finally received our NOA2 today after 153 days of waiting! We honestly thought it would never come at this point. We are estatic!
Good luck to all those still waiting. It is so hard to see others moving along this process while you feel left behind but do not lose hope, your time will come and it will feel so amazing
