Karenxvii reacted to bad4tatt in AOS status: Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview
Times will vary, sometimes fast sometimes slow. Mine has been in line for interview since Sept and still waiting.

I got a friend her USCIS case status changed to "Ready for Interview" since June 2017. She got her interview Feb 2018.
My USCIS case status didn't changed and still stuck at "Fingerprint fee received" but I got my GC November without interview.

So, I agree with bad4tatt. Time varies from case to case and across different field office.
You may want to check out the workload of your field office from the USCIS website.

Thanks! No attorney. I thought it has a fee.. I'm just wondering the "what if" that ever happens to me because now my AOS is still pending and I'm just worried about the fee.

Hi there no I didn’t my EAD card would have expired in June and got my GC last week. When is yours  expiring?
yeah I know it’s 90 days I was also worried but luckily got my interview date end of January and had a month to prepare for my interview that was March 1
  5. Thanks
Karenxvii reacted to aleful in Renewal of EAD
first of all there is no fee, just like the first time, the fee was waived because you sent the i485. the case is still pending so there is no fee for renewal

if there was, they wouldn't refund the cost, and once the case is resolved and you get your case approved, the ead will be cancelled

no need for an EAD if you have a GC

  6. Thanks

First of all you don’t renew it before 180 days. You have to wait until the last 180 days before renewing. It’s free to renew. If your card comes in then you just use that instead of the EAD. Greencard is taking about a year from date of filing now.

a note to all those of you still waiting and feeling a little despondent right now...

Don't change your plans - the cases are moving. Random dates are joining the approved list every day.
If your case has been waiting since October then maybe calling the CSC would be helpful (as per the post above).

If you are a November case, then hang on in there!  It coud be today, it could be tomorrow - give yourself a time frame.  It's probably reasonable to consider allowing to the end of February.  Whilst that seems a long way off at the moment, things move really quickly after that.  Two weeks from NOA2 you should have your case number for the embassy - then you can schedule the medical and visa interview.  This can be completed in as little as a month and not more than three months.

Whilst you are waiting, get prepared for the next stage of the process so that you don't have any hold-ups.  The petitioner should compile the financial paperwork necessary - the i-134 and supporting evidence - (and post it to your fiance/e) and the beneficiary can organise the police report and any medical documentation needed for the medical exam (get vaccinations if they are not included in the cost of your medical). You can also both complete the information needed for the DS-160 for the beneficiary to file.

This means that once you get your case number, everything else will be ready to go.  You can schedule your medical (which is available really quickly in some places) and complete your indication of readiness and schedule your interview.  It could be just a few weeks after the NOA2 if you are prepared to move quickly.

Don't give up! Even if your NOA2 doesn't arrive until the end of February - you could still be together by Easter!

We won't.  I have to wait for my son to finish High School before I can go - and his final exam isn't until 28th June - but Aaron is coming over to visit in May so it will make the wait a little more bearable - longest we have ever been apart...

Anyway - hang in there - and be prepared!

OMG! My fiance and I got approved!!!

Thank you to all the people on Visa Journey that helped answer our questions and making this wait more tolerable with your humor and kindness!  It helped knowing there are people out there going through the same journey, and understand you.

Special thanks to @JimJesDuma for starting this November 2016 thread.  And huge thanks to @geowrian for your efforts everyday posting those updates.  It gave me something to look forward to reading every night I got home from work!

Good luck to everyone waiting and for everyone in the future!

Here's a little picture of my fiance and I at a friends wedding.  Soon it will be our wedding!
She's the Canadian citizen Kimchi/Korean and I'm the US citizen Filipino/Lumpia

    No problem

Another reassuring statistic is that the rejections for improper filing seem to be sent out within a couple of days of receipt.  So. those of us still waiting are more likely to get an aprroval or an RFE - not a rejection.  I have only stumbled across a tiny number of later rejections whilst doing this. So the good news is that there is obviously a basic paperwork check in place upon receipt - and we are waiting for the more detailed check and data input to find out if any minor details or further queries are necessary.

Although - somethng else to note is that some case numbers are way out of sync with their date - and so, could end up getting processed a few days later (or more) than others on the same date.

For those who have the app, go into the search function and search 100 cases begiining 30 or 40 case numbers prior to your own.  Then filter it to i129Fs.  That way you'll have an indication as to whether your case might be processed with others that have the same received date.

Someone on here said that they have an October 18th date?  If you don't have the app, message me and I can do a search for your case number and others on that date - just to see whether yours seems to be stuck on its own or if there are others from the 18th still waiting too.

    All the best

    Chelley
