  1. Sigh I am a LIN Filer and I got an RFE last week. The stuff they requested is stuff I know I sent. How the bleep do they lose it. Sigh whatever. I gathered extra stuff and hopefully I should send things back out to them next week.  Oh well least I know they touched my case. My bestie was like what you and your husband are so in love it makes you sick. HAHAHAHA my friend the other day said she was jealous of all the dates my husband and I go on just because. Two weeks ago we just up and drive to Utah for a two day vacation. hahaha We have a week long vacay in Arizona to visit his brother and fam in July. We rented a house with a pool. Soooo excited for that. Like my husband said at least we are together waiting for things not like the K-1 wait. Truth.

So the old form that got rejected had 12/05/17 version on the bottom left of the pages. The latest one has 12/02/19 on the bottom left. They both expire on 12/31/2019, have OMB 1615-0038, and ask the same type of questions. The only difference is that the latest version has a barcode on the bottom of the pages. As long as you got the form from the USCIS site, your fine. I somehow got it mixed up with an older copy I guess. Didn't realize that forms are also versioned on the bottom left.

Oh that bites :( Sorry to hear that happened. I work in insurance and I often have to send out the sorry your form is outdated replies. I hate it.

  3. My case was updated today online at USCIS to this:

Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken
As of December 9, 2020, fingerprints relating to your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number LINxxxxxxxxxx, have been applied to your case. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Wonder if that means they used the fingerprints from my AOS.....

  4. I got a text Thursday night but did not see it til yesterday that my case was received. :) I will update the spreadsheet after this post. I sent my package Oct 22nd and they received it Oct 26th and the cheque was cashed Nov 13th. I haven't received anything in the mail but soon I am sure. OMG I was sooo excited when I saw that text at 5:30am when I got up for work yesterday. lol My poor husband who did not have to work til 10am but he was excited too once he woke up just enough to understand. hahaha Oh yes I have LIN.

  5. Yay love to hear all the happy news. :) I am afraid mine will be waylaid. We moved a few months ago and I tried to update my address online but i couldn't get into my account. i tried calling them to get it fixed and nada. Each time saying someone will call you and gave me the number so I would answer the phone. So last time the lady said why don't you just file and hope for the best so I did.

Oh well on better news I got a new position at work and start training on Monday woohoo.

  6. I actually am enjoying this before the 90 Days although it is somewhat like a train wreck because you can not look away. As for considered dating mmm well that depends. My husband and I met in an online game and we considered ourselves dating online as our characters dated in Second Life but as for really dating that did not happen til we met in person for the first time and real sparks flew. :D

I'm finally getting round to watching the tell-all.  Liam's affect is perplexing.  The incongruent giggling responses to his mother's plight.....wth??  Maybe he isn't disabled, but rather a psychopath?  And stoned as well?

Btw, I love Ludwing.  I need a Ludwing.

I love Ludwig too he is so awesome. As far as Liam goes I could see both your scenarios lol

I always thought that Laura's son Liam was off, but after the display in the tell all, he's not off, he's full blown RETARDED!!!

I really hate that word. It is not a nice word to say at all.

Chromosomal syndrome, in my professional opinion.  I remain convinced that Tim is similarly stricken.

I agree with your assessment regarding this.

As for the shows I prefer to watch Pillow talk. lol But I catch the others from time to time. Yeah Liam was definitely a bit out there during the tell all. I felt sorry for Laura.

Back from the interview! Approved on the spot. The interviewer was very kind and kept things pretty easy and mostly just observed us interacting to his discussion and questions. No real issues but we had a small panic when he asked us for the medical, and then he realized we were K1 and didn't need it and apologized, apparently we were the 8th interview of the day (it was just after noon) for him and K1s of course are rare compared to others that do need medicals.

Given the low level of activity on this thread, I suspect we're probably the lone of the last January AOS filers, if not the last, (that's still active on VJ, anyway) to get approved. The has been a loooong journey, and thanks to everyone who's been supportive here!

Woohoo fantastic news. So happy to hear this.

Did any of you have to file a second (or update your original) 864?

The language on the interview letter is a little vague (it says "unless already filed" but also says they want all current financial info.)

Less than a week to go. Finished putting together the relationship documentation and it fills two 1.5" binders -- and to think I was worried because we were light on pics and emails! The actual filings fill a third binder.

No we did not have to which was good cause my husband at that point was not working and I was the one making all the money. Still am although he now has a part time job. Funny how things change that way. Yeah those interview letters are hard to read into what exactly they mean. We just brought the current tax stuff since we had sent in 2016 taxes so when we had our interview we brought 2017 taxes. So if I were you just bring in the 2018 taxes.

Wow I did not bring near that much and we were ok. All we brought was our joint bank account, our car insurance, the title to my car in both our names, the health insurance and I brought other things but they weren't interested. He did however love my picture collage I had made up of our first year together since moving to the USA back in October 2017. Right now I am currently preparing for my ROC which isn't for another year but as we collect stuff I add it to our folder lol. We are currently working on getting a mortgage and buying a house which for both of us is a first as we have only ever rented but we both recently cleared all debts and are for the first time debt free and ironically we decided to go for a house because we both want a place to call our own. A place we can putter around in, do gardening, painting, and grow old together. :)

Good luck on your interview. You both will do great.

  11. I honestly stayed in Montreal for 11 days (had to be more due to the fact my interview was around thanksgiving. lol) at an airbnb apartment that was a ten minute walk from the embassy and medical. My Mum and I made a vacation of it since I was moving away and it was gonna be hard leaving. I am from Manitoba so for me it just made so much more sense money wise. We had so much fun sightseeing in Montreal. We have decided that sometime in the future we will meet there for another one along with my husband. :D

The only thing that still bugs me is the complete lack of street lighting over here (worse in the winter).  Like, American’s must have supervision bc even with 20/20 vision, I struggle hard when it’s dark.

OMG I though it was just here that was like that. Drives me crazy. What else drives me crazy is sooo many people here drive with no lights at night, when its foggy they do not put their lights on or when its blizzarding. I am like REALLY omg people. I swear that that where I live is the worse for driving. Honestly it puts Montreal drivers to shame and we were always told Montreal had the worst drivers in Canada.

  13. I had my medical in Montreal and did not have proof of chicken pox either or the vaccine. They just asked me if I had it and when and took it at face value. Not sure though if that has changed since October 2018 lol

  14. All we provided was hotel receipts and a receipt from getting into Mount Rushmore, and my airline tickets from my second visit down and my now husband's airline tickets from coming up to see me and maybe 3 photos one of which was a picture of him with my Mum and siblings and me. I am not sure the photos are regarded very highly but we submitted them anyway.

I will say that at our AOS interview the officer we had LOVED the fact I had brought a collage of pictures and asked if he could keep them and was delighted when I said of course that is your copy as I made a copy of it for my desk at work. :)
