  1. We went through the GZ consulate. Had a huge file to show domicile. They never asked about it even though my husband was living in China for 13 years. He just moved back a few weeks before my interview. Officer asked where my husband was currently to which I said “USA”.

We had had the following in case asked:

    - Moving contract with shippers

    -  Signup with real estate web company looking for apartment

    - Letter from his mother saying we would live with her on xxx and would be looking for a permanent home.

    - Drivers License (he always renewed even though living in China)

    - Credit Card & Bank account showing USA addressed (he used his Mom address)

    - Copy of flight reservation to USA

    Good luck!

i asked her if i should apply for a renewal for ead cause it expires in september and the company i work for is asking for a new.

she said she will do her best to finish the case today and i will get something in the mail in at least two weeks.

she also kept a few pictures, boarding passes...

Congratulations! We asked a similar question. He told us that we would have to return our EAD card when they send us the green card. That there would be an envelope to return it. However all we got in the mail was a green card. Strange.

Hello, do u know if it will be delivered to my mail box if I am not home? Where do u see the tracking no? On USPS informed delivery website or USCIS website?

I wasn’t home for 3 days and it was delivered to my mailbox. It was sitting in there like any other mail when I returned home from my trip. We found the tracking number from the Case Tracker for USCIS app on iPhone (it has an eagle on it). This is where we got all our status updates.

Hi guys! had our AOS interview last July 26, 2018 and we got approved! the status is now " New Card is Being Produced." To those who have their GC's already, was the GC delivered via normal mail or certified mail like when the combo card was sent? Thank you in advance!

Congratulations. It’s delivered in a USPS envelope but it doesn’t need to be signed for like an express envelope. The last case update you will get will say it was delivered to you and it provides a tracking number. I believe when status update changes to “card mailed” it will also provide the tracking number.

Hi! Were you at DTLA or San Fernando? 😊

Hoping ours is the same timeframe! PD Sep 15 2017 at San Fernando. Did you ever file EAD renewal? And did your online status ever change from biometrics fee received for I-485? 😊

ETA: sorry just saw your status did change! When did you receive your interview notice in the mail? Thank you so much and congrats!

Thank you. Ours was in DTLA. Yes it changed to interview scheduled. We received “interview was scheduled” online 5 weeks before interview. Got mail with interview date one week later.

Fingers crossed for you. Happy to answer any question.

    Hi Everyone!

July 2017 Filer here. I received scheduled interview notice for beginning of August.

Too bad, I found out that this whole thing has been a sham. :(

Can anyone direct me to a help section on stopping this process & notification to the proper departments?

    Thank you in advance.

I’m so sorry to hear it. I’m sure someone will be along to guide you on how to cancel.

    Hello,

My hubby got an RIE back at the end of March (for birth certificate) and they reset the clock back in May.

Due to recent developments with RFEs not being issued anymore come September 11, I'm terrified of something being wrong with our AoS now. Particularly that we didn't have our joint 2017 taxes (first year joint filing) completed when submitting the initial packet. Now that the clock has been reset to May, does that mean that they would likely request the 2017 returns?

I filed for a tax extension until October.

Should I send them to USCIS without them asking once I get them completed?  Should/can we call them and ask if they want it? In the initial packet, I did provide returns for the years 16,15,14, and a letter of long term employment with my salary stated and a few paystubs. I make over the limit for income requirements, but not by a whole lot and we don't have a sponsor for back up.

I know there's a lot of confusion right now, should we be worried? Do applicants often get an RIE and then an RFE down the line? We were told our timeline is now 12-22 months for my husband's green card. I'm scared of a now potentially unmentioned RFE (like his medical exam might expire or etc) that could happen at any point during this time...

    Thank you!

We also have not filed our 2017 taxes. They did not mention the I-864 nor anything about not having latest tax return. On medical exam they asked if USCIS wanted us to do a new one. We just said no. Got approved so there is some hope. To be honest it’s really a crapshoot based on officer you get at interview based on the reviews I’ve read. Good luck.

  8. Just had my interview today. They did not ask any questions regarding finances or for any pay stub or any other financial documents. However they did ask my occupation. So if you had the same officer you would have passed as your occupation hasn’t changed. All the rest of the questions were based on relationship.

    Wish you good luck.

My husband had his AOS interview yesterday, and was approved! We were there only about 10 minutes, and prepared a bag full of documents, but wasn’t asked for anything! So thankful to be done with this process for a couple of years!

    Good of luck to everyone!

Congrats! We have our interview next week. Hope it will be as easy as yours.

Congrats! Did your USCIS online status update to "We sent you a letter with your schedule"? I also filed i485 on July 31 2017. No interview yet.

Thank you. We only got the USCIS online update (no email or text message). It said the following:

“On June 12, 2018, we scheduled an interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXX.

We will mail you an interview notice.”

We received the interview mail yesterday, June 18th so took about a week for us to receive the mail with interview date on it. Since you filed on same date hopefully you receive it this week since same office.

    It's a pinned thread. Specifically this part;

Do I need a medical exam?

What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

    Source: I-693 instructions page 6 &7, Part 3 FAQ, #3

If you were admitted as a:

    A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or

    B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

    C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

    1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year of an overseas medical examination, and:

    (a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or

So I think we're good to go. Because I'm in the same boat as you. My medical was done in December 2016, and my interview is next week.

We just got our interview notification. This is very helpful. Thank you. We were worried about the medical. Good luck on your interview.

Ugh, USCIS just loves messing with us at this point!

Friday night, at 11pm we get a message on our phones indicating an update in case status. Turns out it was the EAD case status indicating the card was delivered, about SIX MONTHS after it was delivered! Talk about getting your hopes up just to have them crushed.

Haha. Got the same one. I knew it was too good to be true.
