There is lots of information if you google those forms. I have read a little about this situation. One person I know was going thru the same thing and I read that its difficult to get those waivers approved. However, you have 2 daughters and they may consider that when applying for that waiver. Bottom line, it's all about USCIS to approve it or not. It's all on how your attorney presents the case to USCIS. It's the price for breaking the law and worst case scenario, she would have to spend 10 years outside the US before she can return.

Mi esposo afortunadamente no tuvo entrevista. Le aprovaron la Residencia Permanente sin necesidad de entrevista. Segun estuve leyendo, hay probabilidad del 50 % que los aplicantes de Ajuste de Status (I-485) que entraron con visa K1  no tengan que asistir a una entrevista. Nadie sabe en que consiste o que decide si tienes entrevista o no.
 
Con respuesta a tu pregunta, Un amigo que acaba de pasar por la entrevista me envio la copia de su cita y cuando recibas la carta para tu cita de entrevista ellos te daran la lista de cosas que tienes que llevar contigo.
Planea llevar alguien que pueda traducir por ti. No tiene que ser alguien a quien pagues o certificado. Simplemente puede ser un familiar o amigo. Ellos no dejaran que tu o tu esposa se traduscan el uno al otro.
Le hicieron preguntas tipixcas como:
Donde se conocieron?
Fotografias
Quien le propuso a quien y cuando y como paso la propuesta?
Mientras mas pruebas lleves de convencerlos que son un matrimorio legitimo... major.
Copia de estado de cuenta de tu banco donde los dos aparecen como "joint account holders"
Si tienen tarjeta de credito juntos, Estado de Cuenta.
Copia de tarjeta de beneficios Medicos, dentales, etc
 
Buena Suerte en tu entrevista

A mi amigo le dieron la cita para un mes después de que el recibió la carta con su cita de entrevista. Pero tu actualización dice que están listos para agendar tu cita. Lo que significa que podría tarda una semana, un mes o dos en darte la cita. Nunca se sabe con ellos. Esperemos que sea en los próximos días. Tenemos que ponernos positivos.  El hecho de que ya cambio el estatus son buenas noticias. Pero si tienes dudas, no dudes en llamar al numero de USCIS que recibiste en tu NOA para el permiso de Trabajo. Ellos hablan español también.

Ellos te estan avisando que te van a enviar la carta con la informacion para tu sita de entrevista de pareja (lo que significa buenas noticias ). Has mirado el estatus  de tu permiso de trabajo?
Si el estatus de tu permiso de trabajo es el que escribiste, entonces quiere decir que quiza no te van a dar el permiso de trabajo porque la cita de aprobacion para tu Residencia es muy pronto (me imagino). Recuerda que tu puedes hablar con un represesntante por telefono y pedir mas informacion.

Today, we were surprised with an update that says: "New Card Is Being Produced" for our I-485. They approved us without interview!! Yay!! We are so happy!!

Si miran el comentario que hice anteriormente, se podrán dar cuenta de la confusión.
Para el proposito de buscar el estatus de tu visa K1 tienes que seleccionar IMMIGRANT VISA con to BGT # (aunque en realidad se trate de una NONIMMIGRANT VISA.
Yo acabo de hacer la búsqueda con el BGT de mi esposo tuvo en octubre pasado. Una vez mas: solo funciona cuando seleccionas IMMIGRANT VISA.

Que no te de pena. Es solo la confusion del proceso. Yo acabo de checar el estatus de la visa K1 que recibió mi esposo en Octubre del año pasado y tienes que elegir:
Visa Application Type: IMMIGRANT VISA
Immigrant Visa Case Number: BGT2017XXXXXX (no el WAC que antes mencionaron)
Despise poner el código de seguridad.
 
Cuando aparece los resultados, la clasifican como visa NONIMMIGRANT pero cuando seleccionas el tipo de visa en las opciones tienes que hacer lo anterior.

El proceso es mas simple de lo que parece:
1. El primer paso es enviar la solicitud y la gran espera de casi 3 o 4 meses para recibir tu NOA2.
2. Una vez que to NOA2 es aprovada, La USCIS manda to aprobacion  al NVC (National Visa Center) donde ellos te suministraran con tu numero BGT. El numero BGT es usualmente expedido a la segunda o tercer semana de la aprovacion de tu NOA2. No es necesario esperar. Puedes empezar a hablar al 603-334-0700 (en USA) alrededor de la segunda semana. Una vez que obtengas el BGT#, podrás empezar el proceso en Bogota de acuerdo al paquete incluido en este mensaje.
Muchos aplicantes piensan que tienen que esperar hasta que la embajada les envié las instrucciones y están en lo correcto pero también puedes agilizar los tramites con las instrucciones adjuntas. 
Hay manera de rastrear tu paquete del NVC a la embajada (si necesitan ayuda me pueden mandar un mensaje).
3. Ya con el BGT en mano pueden ingresar y pagar la tarifa para la visa en linea y pedir una cita en la embajada tus huellas. Si el caso no esta liso en la embajada no te dejara hacer la cita. (ahi te podrás dar cuenta que el caso todavía no esta listo). Pero como soy un desesperado yo lo intente 
4. Después de poner cita con la embajada y tus huellas , deberas llamar a uno de los doctores listados en las instrucciones y ellos te preguntaran cuando es tu cita en la embajada y los pasos que debes seguir para tus exámenes medicos. (planea estar en Bogota por una semana).
5. si puedes convencer a los medicos de la lista que suministren las vacunas y te llenen el formulario de vacunación estaría perfecto pero ninguno te lo va a querer llenar. (según escuche solo lo hacen para las personas casadas y no para los de K1).
La alternativa para las vacunas es tratar de tomarte todas las Vacunas requeridas en Colombia y obtener un certificado internacional de vacunación. (fue lo que nosotros hicimos).
Ya en los Estados Unidos tu tarea seria encontrar un doctor que te pueda llenar ese formulario o tendrías que pagar todo el examen medico otra ves.

Por cierto, para todos aquellos que no quieran pagar por traducciones de registro, envíenme un mensaje para obtener el formato de traducción. No es necesario pagar cantidades gigantes. Yo tengo el formato que compre en linea para la traducción del certificado, Solo se tiene que incluir una declaración que la persona habla ingles y español y firmarlo.

I have been busy and out of the forum for a while. Having a love one home keeps you busy! Its kinda crazy but that is how things worked for us in Texas (San Antonio). But here is it worked:
1. We applied for SSN the same day we got married and got our license (11/07/16). We showed out marriage license but the employee wouldn't even look at it or made copies of it.
2. We waited for almost 4 weeks to get his SS card with his original "maiden" (single, original) name. Once we got it we went back to the SSA to re-apply with the marriage license again and changing it to my Last name.
    According to the employee, you apply (the first) with your original name for the USCIS to recognize the info to match with your application. The second request, they already have record of your petition and the name gets changed. It does not make sense to me but it worked for us the second time.

I agree with the above. I will also add...
 
You only have legal status in the US until the I-94 expires (90 days after entry). Once you file for AOS, you are in a period of authorized stay while that case is pending. If there is a gap between the I-94 expiration and filing of AOS, that is a period of unlawful presence. It's unlikely any action would be taken, but technically you could be deported during that period. Once you file for AOS and authorized stay begins, that risk no longer applies and the overstay is ignored.

I dont know yet if I will fall into the February or March filers yet. 
I sent my AOS paperwork via USPS Certified Mail on Feb 13th, and it was supposed to be delivered on February 15th. Somehow, the USPS updated with "delayed" and they ended up getting it and signed for it on Feb 20th.
So far, they have not cashed the check or sent any Text/email notification after 14 days of receiving it. I am kinda worried and I have been calling since last week to get an update. They always tell me the same thing: "We don't have anything on file yet. You may want to resend the paperwork again or wait a few more weeks."
 
Do you guys think I should keep waiting for another week before I do anything? What is your advise?

Quick question guys:
My NVC visa status changed to "In Transit" and followed by a message that says: "Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center."
That does not mean they are assigning the date for my interview, correct?
I still have to fill out the DS-160,pay for fees and schedule the interview on my own. Can somebody help?

I can tell you what is annoying:
Having to read hateful messages about intolerance. and people not being patient about getting their NOA2. Some of us that are at the beginning of July have not gotten ours. Yes! Its a very unfair system, but there is nothing we can do about it.

I have a friend that works at the CSC and he mentioned exactly what soulstriker said. He said: It only takes me 10-15 minutes to approve an application if everything that I am looking for is there!! He also said that every application is different but in average if everything is there and the application is complete. (10-15 min).
