I`m trying to apply for my brother to come and visit me on B1/B2 visa but problem is that next available appointment for B1/B2 at US Embassy is around April next year 2023. who should I contact to get his appointment sooner? Would Senator/Congressman involvement helps?

No you need to have Naturalization certificate to apply for passport. 

Here is my timeline

2/9- Applied for Passport application at local USPS (Normal application)

3/1- Application received and in process

3/30-Application approved

4/1-Passport received

4/5- Passport card received.

4/14-Naturalization certificate received

Another Update:

After getting status that my passport is shipped got another status later that they have approved by case. Did anyone experience that?

Update:

Passport application approved today and also shipped as well. Hopefully it will be delivered around April 05,2021

Update:

Finally got a text message last night that DOS has received my passport application on March 01,2021.now the waiting game begins!

Still no update on the system eventhough USPS delivered my passport application to Philadelphia passport center on Feb 15,2021. Cheque has not been cashed yet! Look like Philadelphia passport are slowest among all passport center!

Hello VJ members,

I recently became US citizen and I have already applied for passport earlier this month which means that I have submitted original NC to DOS. Meanwhile, I am in middle of switching to new job and recently got a job offer letter from employer which I gladly accept it so the question is how do I have to prove to HR team that I am US citizen? All I have a photocopy of NC and I did not update my SSN since I became US citizen. Would photocopy of NC works? Anyone with similar experience can shed some light on that?

Entered into passport app system: Feb 2nd

Passport printed and sent: Feb 22nd (still waiting for it to be delivered!)

I had no idea why the customer care couldn't find my application b/w Dec 30th and Feb 2nd, and was getting super anxious like you. But as long as your app has been securely delivered at Phili, you should be ok - its a waiting game from here on. Hope you are luckier than I was.

Thanks to USPS local office, they were able to tell me that my passport application has been delivered to Philadelphia on Feb 15,2021. Not sure if all NYS applicant routed to Philadelphia passport agency? I had a fear that USPS lost my application but atleast they were able to track it down (that is what I was being told by USPS officer) and hopefully be in safe hand! My cheque has not been cashed yet as of today! So how long did it take for passport agency to cash your cheque?

You can check with the postal office to ask where they sent your passport application to, they should have a tracking record. If your passport application ends up being processed in New Orleans chances are you'll get everything back quickly as that's what other people's timelines here show.

Okay I will check with USPS tomorrow. My other concern is that I have filled passport from NYS and within 2 weeks I am relocating to TX .In DS-11 form, I have added Texas address as my mailing address, so hopefully they will send my passport/NC to the address mentioned in the DS-11.

Thanks MrKo for your kind words. I will wait until next week and check with local post office as to what's going with the package? Hopefully until then DOS has received my application.

Btw where did you file your passport case?I mean which state?

This morning, 2/25/2021, I got another notification that my passport has shipped. The USPS tracker is not showing anything at the moment but hopefully that will update later today.

 

So, in short, mine took around 3 weeks non-expedited. I hope everyone else's is as speedy.

I have applied on Feb 09,2021 and still no sign of update on the website and upon checking with Passport customer service number, they are still unable to find my application and asked me to wait since they are delayed with the processing. My bank cheque has not been cashed yet! Don't know how to keep track of my passport application? Should I be worried?

Its been almost 2 weeks since I have applied for US passport, so far nothing showed up on the DOS website! Wondering if the current weather across the nation caused the delay!

When did you apply for US passport?

I have applied through On Feb 9,2021 and still nothing showed up on the DOS website. Probably due to unprecedented weather condition across the nation, it might take another week or so to show on the system!
