I am filing in October, 90 days prior to my completion of the 3 years of LPR. My window opens on October 15.

BTW, @amocitos41 @Beddy2015, you meant that you are filing based on 3 years of becoming a Lawful Permanent Resident while being married to a US citizen, right? The instructions for the n400 form state that "An applicant filing as the spouse of a US citizen under section 319(a) of the INA may file up to 90 days before meeting the required 3-year period of continuous residence as an LPR". A person may be married for 3 years and yet not meet the requirement.

I am filing the N-400 and under Part 8 I have to write the Street number and name, if it is an apartment, suite or floor and its number, city or town, state and zip code. 

I worked as a volunteer for a nonprofit inside a base located in a US territory. The information I have is: the name of the building, the number of the building, the name of the base, the city where the base is located, state and zip code. 

So what should I put in the Street number and name part? Should I put the name and number of the building? Or should I just write the name of the base?

And what should I put in the city or town? Should I use the name of the city where the base is located or the base is considered a city for this?

I added the column "Transferred to a different service center?" to the 2018 tab. It is very important to take this information into consideration. Many CSC cases are processed faster because they are transferred to Nebraska Service Center. A week ago I investigated why some CSC October 2018 filers were approved while most of us weren't, searching through the VisaJourney timelines, and I found out that all those cases were transferred to Nebraska. The latest not transferred cases from CSC recorded here on VisaJourney that were approved are from July 2018 (check their profiles here, here and here), which gives us a processing time of around 13 months.

The latest not transferred cases from CSC recorded here on VisaJourney that were approved are from July 2018 (check their profiles here, here and here), which gives us a processing time of around 13 months.

I just traveled with my extension letter and I also had Global Entry. It depends on the airport. Entering in Guam (US Territory), I went through the Global Entry line and the machine didn't accept my expired GC and told me to see an officer. There was an officer right there after the Global Entry area, so I didn't have to go through the long line. Now, entering in Minneapolis I tried the Global Entry machines again, it didn't work, and there was no officer there, so I had to go to the end of the long line, which was very frustrating. 

If you can, try to update the Global Entry account with your new expiration date, or even better, try to contact Global Entry and see how you can use their kiosks with the extension letter. I am still trying to figure out how to do it.

As of the extension letter, every person I showed it understood and I had no issues.

I've just learned here that once your I-751 is approved, and before you receive your GC, you need to have a special passport stamp to leave the country. I am leaving the country for 1 week and my mail is on hold with USPS right now. I have the extension letter and the expired GC with me. Some people that applied around the same time that I did (but different Service Centers) are receiving their approval letters.

Is there anything I can do to make USCIS wait until I get home to send me anything?

Yesterday I received a letter stating my approval, and it also says to not leave the country until having the new card in hands.  The letter states that if I do need to leave the country, I should call them and schedule to go get a passport stamp, but the stamp needs to be approved on a case basis. I’ll share the letter here when I get back home tonight as it might be helpful to know upfront - in case someone has a trip planned and it happens to fall between case approval and receiving new card.  

 

I never received any emails or text updates. I have to proactively login the app. But all in all, I’ll say I am a bit surprised with the updates and amount of information available to me this time around, compared to the AOS. The visa tracker app has been updated to “Card was picked up by the USPS” and they also provide the USPS tracking number so I can stalk where the card is.  It appears USCIS is adjusting to the 21st century.  

 

I am leaving the country for 1 week an my mail is currently on hold with USPS until I get back home. 

Is there anything I can do so the USCIS doesn't send me anything meanwhile?

Also, what is this visa tracker app? Could you send me the link? Sounds useful!

Hopefully will get the long awaited approvals very soon. 

I looked over in the Case Tracker and they approved one just 5 cases after mine and then another one 17 cases after mine.

 

Looks like it's pretty random.

 

My guess is all the October 2018 applications are with IO but some IO are fast some are slow. I can imagine the piles of papers on their cubicles.

What is the Case Tracker? I want to check mine too.

Good news for the California Service Center folks, I searched the timelines and found 2 people who filed in October that had their I-751 approved. @kath1980 (filed 10/15/2018) and @clangdj (filed 10/12/2018). I wish it wasn't so random, because there is still people from September that are waiting... Anyway... There is hope! Maybe our cases will still be approved in 2019.

I know not everyone uses the table, so I will ask. Except for GREENGEM was anyone else approved? 

I checked the August 2018 filers forum and it looks like some of them have been approved! So we might start seeing approvals here in about 2 months, I guess.

 I'm anxious!

I checked my mail box and as happened to @lucky91 and @p-ana anticipated, I also received a biometrics appointment letter. I guess the letter I received back in March saying they would reuse my biometrics was just a joke . Why they even do that? So frustrating!

Now I will follow the example of @cynpen and try a walk in at an Application Support Center out of state. I need to figure out when the office is open and make sure I go there before the scheduled time, which is on July 16.

I think we are in the same situation. I filed in California but then I moved to the midwest. I received my 18 months extension letter in my new address and I had "fingerprint review completed" as of march 15 and I received a letter saying they would reuse my biometrics. Now I am worried they will schedule a bio appt and I will miss it. I'm currently traveling and I redirected my mail, so I might receive any letter with some weeks of delay. I have informed delivery with USPS, and I didn't see anything from USCIS though. I am wondering if I will have to do the Biometrics again...

I am sorry they made you go to secondary inspection. I travelled to Guam (US Territory) with GC and expired letter one month ago and didn't have to go through secondary. I hope it doesn't happen when I travel back to the continental US.

By what people have been posting here, secondary inspection for of GC+exp. letter is not a standard procedure. I hope you have a better experience next time.

Also, I see you are Mexican. I can understand why you would freak out. Your community is going through a lot of discrimination these days. Receive my thoughts of support.

It is weird indeed! I suggest you call them to clarify. And I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else!

I want to share my experience going through immigration with the expired GC and the extension letter and Global Entry.

The Global Entry machine read my GC but didn't print the receipt. Instead, a message appeared in the screen telling me to see an officer. I waited in the line and when the officer called me I said right away that I didn't have a receipt because my GC was expired and that I had an extension letter. He checked all my documents and stamped my passport with the "admitted" stamp and wrote "LPR" and my A number on the stamp and that was it. No second screening, thankfully. That was entering Guam, which is a US territory. Let's see how it will be going back to the continental US.

On a side note, I was surprised to see CBP officers questioning people during the boarding of an international flight leaving the US. I guess they are looking everywhere now.

I am currently with an expired CG and have an extension letter and Global Entry. I will travel to Guam and from there to South Korea, then back to the US. I will be 3 months out of home. In my way back I will enter through Minneapolis, where I have 2h51m to change flights. 

1. Is everybody with extension letter sent to second screening? 

2. Will I be sent to second screening even though I have Global Entry?

3. Do I need to inform USCIS that I will be out of home for 3 months, in case they want to schedule an interview? (Biometrics were reused) How do I do it?

It also makes clear that the 12 month extension is from the card expiry date, not the receipt date of the I-797.

On https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do my case status isn't updated either. But it is updated on MyUSCIS account https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/.

Interesting response. Do you think it means they already decided to approve? Maybe they just don't want to pass your case in front of the others that were submitted before.

February 2020 sounds right to me, considering the extension letter gives us 18 months. I'm curious, what date were you expecting to have it approved?

Your Service Center is Nebraska, right? If you check the processing times for I-751 you will see it is between 15.5 to 23.5 months (check here https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/).

We all have to be patient....

On the other hand, for the ones that married a US Citizen, we will be able to apply for citizenship even before we have the I-751 approved, when we complete 3 years of the 1st GC.
