Is Seattle only doing virtual interviews? That worries me.
And any of you had the N-400 with I-751 still pending at this office? What happens?
-
Yeah. I am stuck with a pending I-751 that’s in some black hole waiting for the Seattle office to get the N-400 done. So my ROC got delayed and still no idea when it happens.
Had I not done the N-400 I would have my ROC approved already based on the LIN office having approved all before and after my case.
I got screwed and had read too many people getting their ROC approved fast by a fast N-400.
never do this if you have the Seattle office. They are extremely behind everything.
-
With the Seattle office the N-400 with I-751 pending will actually DELAY the Removal of Conditions.
The USCIS will put both applications together for a dual interview.
The N-400 in Seattle is badly backlogged.
If you are at a location where the N-400 process is fast. It will speed up your pending ROC. -
Wow lucky birds. Mine is Seattle and that has to be the worst of all USCIS offices for N-400 still waiting for over a year and my ROC is held hostage for 2 years.
I am glad for you all who get the ROC and N-400 fast. -

Looking at your timeline it seems you applied for N-400 with the I-751 pending, that's the most likely reason your case was transferred since N-400s are handled by the local offices. With the two cases now getting handled together your I-751 was yanked out of the queue at the regional service center and sent off to where your N-400 is. You'll probably end up with a combo interview and both cases adjudicated together - you likely delayed your ROC but will end up a citizen sooner.
As for me, no N-400 until I see where the election goes, I don't care about the fee increase (which is on hold anyway)...
Well. That’s what happened to me. I fu*ked up my ROC since it got yanked out of LIN due my n-400. Not realizing Seattle office is extremely slow. I had an interview at my AoS. So LIN just wanted to clear the plate and chucked my away.
Bellingham? Nice. I live in Lynden. -

Here's a couple I found from a quick VJ search:
Thanks!
if the N-400 fee was not going to increase, I would have waited.
All I can do is hoping that USCIS is smart with my applications.

Yes, you can apply for citizenship as soon as you are eligible even with the I-751 pending. The N-400 cannot be adjudicated until the I-751 is resolved: what that sometimes means is that your I-751 is "pulled" and adjudicated faster, or that you get an interview notice for N-400 but it is then cancelled because I-751 hasn't been adjudicated, or people will get combo interviews for both I-751 and N-400. Sometimes, depending on the field office, applying for N-400 with I-751 still pending will slow things down significantly for both I-751 and N-400. The biggest example of this I have seen is at the Seattle office but you might want to do some digging on VJ to check if other people have had similar issues for your office.
Seattle office? Do you have info on that? I am ROC and N-400 both pending. Am I royally screwed now? My ROC has been transferred to the NBC after I filed the N-400.
-
Hmmmm I received the info in the mail that it was sent to the National Benefits Center where my N-400 is also there. Do you have the info which center/office has your case now?

Despite my N400 window opening on 8/29/20 (LPR granted 11/29/17) - the system wouldn't let me submit my application before 8/31/20. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
The early filing window opens 90 days and not 3 months . So it is 2 days shorter.

Just got the message “Case Transferred and new office has jurisdiction. I filed for N-400 last week.
maybe related? -

Just got notification!
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production.
My number is LIN199071****
Submit Sep 15th. and NOA Sep 20th.
Changed from case is received status, and never been to fingerprint is received status like many people around my number having same issues.
Ok hopefully they will do the same with mine. I am sept 9. So my case got skipped. Hopefully it’s in the same batch. I will post if mine changes at all. I am happy for you. -
I filed today based on the 3 years marriage and 3 years LPR - 90 days.(Waited 2 weeks to be firmly in the early filing window)
my ROC is a cursed LIN and still on case received. But since I am legally eligible for N-400 I applied.
Let’s see which will be first be approved the N-400 or ROC?

...and my card was supposed to be delivered today and now the status is “returned to sender” as the addressee could not matched with a mailbox lol. Not that my name was on it or so.
Gonna cry. This system either makes or breaks you. Today I’m feeling closer to second. And I am still stuck at case received since September 2019. Biometrics done but never reflected in the online status. LIN must be the worst of all processing centers.

Sounds like we’re in the same boat. Wonder how many folks could weigh in still on this topic.
Best of luck with filing, happy to know we’re lucky enough to have the old filing fees.
do you plan on filing “online” vs paper filing?
I will do the online and my window opens the 6th of August. So it will be the old fees.
-
No issues, I plan the same since I filed my ROC in September 2019 as well.

It’s not just a group from September. I’m back from October 2018 and in the same boat, and there are a few others like me in the October 2018 thread.
It’s just a dumb conspiracy theory, but I feel it’s possible they hold some cases back to draw out their normal processing time windows.
Ugh, seems LIN is a very bad ROC service center. I am going to apply the N-400 as soon the window opens.
Maybe those LIN zombies will then wake up. -
And the mystery of the ROC filers of September who did the biometrics but never saw any update online then the “case was received”.
This worries me. I have never seen this never mentioning the biometrics update at all.
I think that filing for citizenship may be the way forward. The 3 year greencard Mark is November 2. Received it nov 2 2017. And I can even apply for citizenship 90 day’s before nov 2?
what I wonder is if it is actually possible to do so while ROC has not been approved yet.
-
Well, September 2019 filer here. Had biometrics done on Jan 22 2020. And all that the USCIS egov site and my.USCIS.gov show is that my application has been received. Never anything about Biometrics, never a peep about fingerprints received. So are the Lincoln peeps unable to update the progress somehow?
-
Got biometrics done January 22. Also Nebraska service center.

Hi all,
I am now working on submitting for ROC. Plan to FedEx it on friday.
-
-
Hmmm do you have to correct a wrong expiration date? Or only if the date is messing up the ROC?
-
I did send that sealed envelope with the AoS package. That is what you have to do it. I also added a photocopy of the ds3025. My status is now ready for interview.
N-400 Seattle (Part 2)
in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports

I got my I-751 and N-400 interview as a dual interview.
My wife and I entered the interview office and 2 officers were there..One for the ROC and one for the Citizenship.
The oath happened immediately after the interviews and approval in the same office.
It was a long journey but finally I am a US Citizen. The sword of Damocles above my head is now gone. I feel a heavy weight lifted finally.
The officers were very nice and one of them is a Marvel/Back to the Future fan and has movie items on his wall. License plate from Back to the Future. Nameplate of the lawyers in Daredevil. So we had a nice chat about the movies and Marvel shows. He also has a picture of Grogu.
I hope that all of you will have a smooth interview as well and if ROC has not approved yet..expect dual interview.
