  1. After exactly one year my husbands card is on its way! It was a complete surprise. Our Status never changed from we completed our review of fingerprints on 2/9/19. No alerts or changes on either website which I even checked last night. Got a tracking number from informed delivery today that I didn’t recognize. Looked it up and saw it was from the processing center. Couldn’t login today to see anything. Called the number and got a message that I-751 approved 12/6/19 card mailed on 12/16/19. Vermont service center. No interview. Such a relief.

Previously, the old USCIS web-site (when you go to uscis.gov and click on "Check Case Status") did not recognize my case number for I-751 (many people here reported the same).

However, today, on Sunday, on the 2nd day after biometrics appointment, the case status says:

    Fingerprint Review Was Completed

As of February 10, 2019, we completed our review of your fingerprints and are working on your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC199xxxxxxx, at our Vermont Service Center location. We will let you know if we make a decision or need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I have the same status.  Guess now the waiting begins....

My two letters was oddly enough 2 new extension letters. Exactly the same.

Me too! I got 4 letters from uscis today. 2 extensions. (I already received one weeks ago) This time it said fee received  instead of waived. One was an original and one a copy. Then a new bio apt to replace the one they sent last week that had already passed, and then a receipt for payment saying no biometrics needed at this time!! I think they have lost their minds over there!!

Can you share the Notice date printed on the biometrics appointment letter? Also, what service center has your case?

I would suggest talking to tier 2 to reschedule this and/or try to do a walk-in biometric tomorrow or ASAP

Notice date is 1/04/2019. Post mark on envelope is 1/11/19.  Service center is VSC. Appointment scheduled 2 counties away even though there is a service center a few blocks from my home.  Online says neither are accepting walkins.

so does that mean you letter arrived too late? when did you send your ROC application out?

Yes the appointment had passed.  We sent app out 12/16, received NOA in the mail 12/24.  Receipt number only says case received.  I didn't make any additional requests and wasn't expecting anything yet.  But the biometrics letter was in the mail when I got home from work this evening.

Oh my God, I would have never noticed this, thanks! I mean we have a lawyer who I assume would use this tear off portion >.<

I'm sure your w4 and paystubs will be fine. Everyone knows it isn't time for w2 issuance just yet, another 2 or so weeks still :)

Yes. Husband overstayed a tourist visa in 2002 for many reasons. They wasted to see the ordinal stamp and cardboard paper. I'm assuming to confirm that he did enter legally.

    Hey Guys,

some people here in this forum mentioned that we need to have our EAD card, Travel document (based on form i-131), receipt of all forms from USCIS, birth certificate etc.

but a lawyer told me you don't need to have those stuff in you interview. he said just have pictures, insurance, lease, utilities and bank statement and an ID. he said also having joint Tax paper is not necessary. when i said i am going to organize all the pictures in a n album he said do not put pictures in the album, just have them in a packet.

what is your opinion. any suggestion?

what my wife as a US citizen needs to have in interview? just a birth certificate and ID is enough for her?

We were asked for the original visa and original/subsequent passports that expired as well as current passport. Updated editions of all documents we submitted as proof of marriage like bills.

    Congrats :)

can you please share your experience of interview? what kind of questions they asked you?

She asked very few questions. We were never separated. She asked for updated copies of original proof of relationship we submitted. I gave current utilities, health insurance, car insurance, letters from both our kids school with both of us listed as the contacts. She asked for a current lease because ours expired in September. We didn't have one and I explained that we were trying not to renew the lease because we plan to buy a house once his credit is more established. She asked for proof that he is employed since receiving his ead. We showed his business certificate for Autobody company he has started. She looked through a scrapbook I had brought with us and asked about a few of the pics. Then read the questions word for word from the application for him to answer( the ones about arrests, affiliations, and such.). It was a lot less than I expected. I was quizzing him for months on family maiden names, favorite foods etc and none of that came up at all.

Make two copies of any paper evidence you have....OK so if you have electric bills and bank statements in both your names, make two copies of each paper proof you bring....one for your records and one in case the immigration officer wants to keep. Same for lease and anything else. You can bring a cheap photo album....many people do this and just tell the officer take what you want from the photos. For paper things, get a three ring binder and plastic page covers from staples store or somewhere similar so you can just open it easily and flip to what you need. Put two copies like I said in each clear plastic page.

You know you didn't send much in the way of proof so be ready for them to probably keep almost all of the things you bring. If they see you bring in things they should ask if you want to show them to be considered. Good luck!

We got the card in the mail yesterday!!  Nothing ever updated after case was approved. I have thanked god 9998,776558 times today!! And and sending prayers out for all my fellow vj's waiting for an answer.

  10. If your case is confirmed to be at a local office, I would make an infopass and explain you absolutely must have a photo copy of whatever document you need. You could end up waiting a while but I think if your file is in the building then they could at least TRY and get someone to get you a photo copy.

honestly I would try my hardest not to piss off the USCIS powers that be. If you answered truthfully you'll be fine. It would raise my suspicions if someone asked me to send me a copy of my answers.
  11. sticky- an infopass this morning for long island on January 4. I took the earliest 8 am one. Dang it's far from where are in Queens since Im closer to Manhattan. But whatever, might have to rent a car then. I hope I get me more useful information then!

Linyahui- I understand, sometimes you have to do whatever it takes to make you stay sane and feel better- im with you.

you can take LIRR to ronkonkoma and they have a car/taxi service there that will bring you back and forth. Only about ten minutes each way. $14 each way for two people. Extra if more than two people.
  12. Hi I have been following your case for a while, our PD is March 9 but from NYC. No updates too. My question is, do you get notified if your case has been moved to local office for scheduling of interview? I raised an inquiry for our case and got a response in November saying that the local office is scheduling an interview. However, when I spoke to a tier 2 last week, he said it's still in NBC and when I check the status it still says last update in May.

I no longer look at the processing times, it drives me crazy. I think I developed some sort of anxiety because of this. :(

I never got any change whatsoever from fingerprint fee accepted to appointment scheduled. The notice for the appointment came a few weeks ago. Coincidentally or not the interview schedule notice came a day after I scheduled an infopass appointment. Our missing ead card also got reproduced the day after I scheduled an infopass. So I think that it sometimes nudges the case along if there is nothing holding things up other than time.

  13. When I asked how long she explained that she could not give an answer. She pointed to three card board boxes and explained that they do not keep the files in the office once they review and complete the interview if an rfe is issued. It is sent back to storage at the end of the day for pending cases or else where for complete cases. When you send the document or whatever item was requested in the file gets pulled and reviewed by someone who determines if it is what was asked for and then reassigned to someone for review. Which is sometimes the same ISO and sometimes not. is I asked if I had to send it through mail or could I drop it off and she said probably better to send by mail because the sorting room is more organized and systematic then leaving it at a window and hoping it gets where it should because again they would not know who the case would be reassigned to later on. Well on our way back from picking up the certified letter I told husband to stop at the office so I could take a chance and see if the person at the window could ask the ISO if I could give her the document. The man took it and came back and said he gave it to the officer. So I asked if I should mail it too and he jokingly said no you don't want to confuse the system more than it already is and said she was in an interview but he put it in her hand and she said she knew what it was and would take care of it. About a half hour later I got a text that said case approved followed by card is being produced.!!!

  14. We had our interview today in Holtsville, NY. We weren't approved. Husband has never been arrested or charged but was in the car with someone when he was 20 something years old. When she was affirming the questions he said well I don't think I ever got arrested but there was this one time... I tried to explain to him he wasn't arrested just because this other person was but he wanted to try and explain the event in case he had been given a ticket or something he didn't remember. The officer was extremely kind and professional. She seemed to genuinely like her job and spoke of some of the cases she has had over the years that made an impact. The buildings staff was friendly. And everyone's offices were decorated for the holidays. She did comment on my initial submissions. She said that I sent way to much stuff in which only leads to delays because they don't care about quantity only quality. She gave us an rfe to get the original final disposition of the case. Which I thought would be impossible because he doesn't even remember what year or where it was and the officer saw no indication of it on his FBI clearance. But I was able to have a friend look up the person he was with to get the info for us. So now we have the certified letter to send in. Here's to hoping it won't be another 9 months. I'm feeling pretty disappointed. I had planned to surprise him with tickets to see family for a Christmas gift. Guess I better start thinking of something else.

  15. I also am still on fingerprint fee received. Since 3/7. I made a service request with tier 2 in August and got a reply months later pretty much saying we received your request and are happy to tell you...nothing. The next step you need to take is...wait. If you wait and here nothing for 30 days make another service request. So I scheduled an infopass appointment that is 11/21/16. Hoping it might trigger something and make things start moving. I would be happy just seeing my status change to ready for interview. At least then I know my file still exists.

My theory worked lol!!!! Just got text that appointment is scheduled for 12/20/2016!! Never updated from fingerprint fee received 3/7!
