  1. I contacted my congressman when my ead was approved but never produced in May. He did nothing. He contacted me immediately and said he would look into it. Than 5 months later he called and said he had great news that he got every thing sorted out and they would take care of the problem immediately. I had received my card in the mail 3 months before already! Now he spams me with election emails.

RIGHT?! Why do they always sound so impatient/harried/condescending? I realize they probably speak to a billion emotional/upset/frantic people each day, but there is a reason for our emotional/upset/frantic reactions, namely, that WE DON'T HAVE ANY !*(#%(@)% INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH OUR LOVED ONES' PETITIONS TO LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY WITH US.

    End rant.

I have been trying to get in touch with my congressman's office, but it seems like he has better things to do (my congressman is Keith Ellison, who is now being tapped as the possible new DNC chairman, which is awesome, but at the same time I need him to focus on his constituents in Minnesota, like us, so we can get this #@)%@#)%@# process completed).

How many of you reading this thread have contacted your congressperson for help? How long did it take to hear back? I submitted a request and privacy release form online on October 25, received a letter in the paper mail with a different privacy release form and submitted that on November 2, and have called the office twice since then just to try to speak to someone to confirm that they received one or both requests for help with the privacy release forms. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. It's not like I WANT to be harassing my congressman or calling USCIS 45,697,903 times each week! I want my husband to get his green card so we can put this behind us for (oh, wait) a mere 12 months before beginning this process all over again to remove conditions!!!!! We've been married for over nine months, we have been waiting for ANY information for eight of those months, and I just want to know what the eff is going on !!!!

    GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

  2. I also am still on fingerprint fee received. Since 3/7. I made a service request with tier 2 in August and got a reply months later pretty much saying we received your request and are happy to tell you...nothing. The next step you need to take is...wait. If you wait and here nothing for 30 days make another service request. So I scheduled an infopass appointment that is 11/21/16. Hoping it might trigger something and make things start moving. I would be happy just seeing my status change to ready for interview. At least then I know my file still exists.

  3. Well. No news to report from the updates. Still says fingerprint fee received. But I submitted an inquiry on 8/11. And got a response today. In short it said you are awaiting an interview (duuuuhhhhhh). If you don't receive something from your local office in 90 days call our 800 number. ?

  4. Any word on anything Long Island filers? We are still at fingerprint received and tier two said sorry Holtsville does not post 485 processing times. It isn't even a field office on visa journey. Feel like our case has landed in Limbo. Husbands mom is really sick and not likely to recover. But he is scared to travel on AP alone because he overstayed a visitors visa. Stressful times around here!

  5. The child's mother can come and file for custody. It is her right. And it will not cost her thousands in legal fees. You can file for custody, child support or visitation in family court with or without a lawyer regardless of immigration status. If you can not afford a lawyer one will be appointed to you again regardless of legal status. However, you are worrying about someone who may not ever immigrate, and will probably take years to immigrate if she ever does. So focus on providing a wonderful life for the little man for now and if/when she does file the judge will grant custody to the parent who represents the child's best interests. Which would be a stable loving home, where he is happy, safe and well cared for. They will not grant her custody just because she wants it.

  6. 3rd DWI in a short time frame should be a HUGE RED FLAG! This persons legal problems will be your legal problems once you marry them. The legal obligations, jail time, financial drain, probation, loss of driving privileges, ignition interlock...not to mention the impact emotionally of spending your life with someone who whether they realize it or not has an addiction. I am not judging anyone...only sending out a warning from someone who see's how much of an impact DWI convictions have on families on a daily basis. I am a probation officer who supervises repeat DWI offenders. It does not get easier...

  7. I never found any clear information on the site so i desided to just go to the place..

Online you have the info that you can drive on a foreign license for a year since entering BUT it also said that once you are a RI resident you have to get a RI license....

So i asked at the place and they said a year since entering usa eventho i got greencard now i can still drive until december (and she also said...if i leave and comeback it gets a reset tho im not rlly sure about that...lol)

Anyways since i was there anyways i was like F it ill give the test a try and passed for my learners permit (with no need of supervision yey)

Now i only have to find a car for the road test...since my husbands car is registerd in mass and not rhode island... such drama!!!

Here in ny there are driving schools who you can pay to take you to your road test. You should look into it.
  8. Me? Hasn't been touched since 3/11/16. Yes I know you got the money. It was a lot of money and cleaned out my bank. Grrrrr... Waaa and wtffff!!! Make me happy USCIS. I don't need a miracle. But throw me a bone. Even a we saw that you did yor biometrics. So it's gonna be a while. Just sit back and sit. For awhile. Someday we will get to you. Maybe. If we feel like it. But yup we got all of your stuff not doing anything much with it but that's a beautiful sunrise shot you guys got on your honeymoon.

  9. We went to SSA this morning for the card and she said his EAD is not valid and a card can not be issued. I asked if this was because it is too soon and she said "I don't know these things wait four weeks before calling to see if it can be processed" When I asked if it would be automatic sent or I had to come back she gave me a look that that said...shut up you idiot...but only said I have no information about that if you do not hear anything call in 4 weeks. No I am in a panic because I am hoping something else is not wrong. I know some people have said they had to wait but his card was approved 4/28 and its almost two months later. Anyone else have this? On a good note we were in and out in 10 minutes when I expected a full day affair.

  10. Good morning!

Yesterday early am I got this email:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

On June 7, 2016, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number MSC****. Your interview is on July 14, 2016. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by July 7, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

Anyone knows what is happening? I am AOS from previously J1 and B2. I knew we gonna have an interview but any opinions?

    Thank you

I don't know what it means but I would definitely call and ask to speak with tier 2. What local office are you?

  11. Still waiting too. USCIS had the nerve to call me and ask me to take a customer service survey after making me wait 95 plus days for EAD and still response to my case inquiry. Of course, I declined. I have nothing to say about their customer service.

They called me today as well. And when I told them it was not a good experience and I was unhappy someone else called back to ask me to explain the situation...maybe they will do something? God knows nobody else is.
