Yes my husband applied recently and it took him a little over 4 weeks, regular processing. There is a passport tracker thread going on in the “now you are a citizen” forum, there were huge delays for those applying late last year but it seems for those applying this year most timelines are around what I said above. Around 4 weeks for regular and maybe a week-10 days faster for expedited.
I don’t see the “now you are a citizen forum”. Is there a link?

Thank you very much. I appreciate your help. As, I was about to cancel my ticket to travel for Jamaica. Let me wait and see what happens before.

Regular passport service seems to be taking around 4 weeks at the moment, expedited seems currently around 3 weeks or slightly less.
Thank you. Did you apply recently or do you know anyone that applied during COVID?Because on the website it says expedited passport 4-6 weeks🙀🙀

Hi everyone!! Just giving the latest updates. My ceremony was on March 08, 2021 at 1pm. Very easy process in and out in less than 20 mins. The lady who host the ceremony went up at said a few words and then we all took a brochure from the package that we received . We stood up and said the oath after she did. ( She read and then we repeated what was said) Then she told us to check our certificates to make sure everything is correct, and if it is not we can make corrections for free today. However, if any other corrections should take place later we would pay a fee. Everything was pretty smooth and quick. I applied for passport on March 10,2021, 2 days after my ceremony. This is my question,Has anyone applied for passport since year, if so, how long does it takes? I did expedition service they said 4-6 weeks.

Oh wow! You got your oath scheduled really quick! I only did my interview just a few days afterwards on Feb 4th. Hoping mine gets scheduled just as quick, haha. Again, congrats, soon-to-be citizen!
Yes it was very quick. 11 days after. Lol. Thank you. Just waiting patiently.

Sent my application on April 23,2020. Didn’t do a biometric. Did my interview on February 01,2021. Today my oath ceremony was scheduled for March 08

Hello everyone my oath ceremony was scheduled for March 08,2021 at my local office that I did my interview. I’m so happy because I bought my ticket from December to travel at the end of March. So, hopefully I can apply for my passport same day. My journey finally coming to an end. I’ll try to expedite my passport.

You are NOT ALONE
ROC I-751 Filed 2019-03-08
Bio Aptt 2019-07-31

Bio Reused Notice 2020-12-14
They say, we are facing DELAYS due to Covid19
Sacramento, California is my local USCIS Office
I guess we don't have any other option except to sit tight and wait... It depends on multiple factors, from State to local USCIS office workloads and most importantly your luck too, I have seen people stay stuck for 2 years and some lucky peeps get citizenship within 5 months. All I do is try to ignore tracking it lolss but it doesn't help much though
My biometric was reused on that same date. 14 of December 2020. Seems like majority of people biometric was reused on that same date. December 21 my interview was scheduled for February 1 2021. Tampa, fl office

Ceremony after your interview? What do you mean?
Naturalized ceremony. To get the certificate.

How long does it takes for you to get a ceremony after the interview? Let me know if anyone have an idea. Thank you!

Ok gotcha, both are USC. She’s concerned because she’s pregnant and not working? Yes she can file and they need to see if they meet the requirements for the number in their household. But being that it’s taking longer, it may still be best to file sooner rather than later if she wants her mom to come in the next couple of years .
Yes, thank you very much. That’s what she is worried about.

Are you suggesting the Mother is the parent of both of them?
The husband is a born US citizen. She got her citizenship through her husband. So, she would be the one to file for the mother. The husband cannot. Thank you.

It all depends on how soon or later she wants her mom to come. JA embassy is open but still catching up on interviews. The IR5 category is still suspended but the I-130 can still be filed to start the process. Your friend is still looking at a long wait so they may want to look into at least starting the petition. The process was about 12 months pre-Covid. My guess now is if they file the petition now, they are looking at 18 months - 2 years or longer for her mom to come or even get the interview. They need to see if they meet requirements as far as the income. If the husband is the USC, he would be the one to apply as an LPR cannot file for a parent.
Okay. I think the husband cannot file for the wife mother. Yes, she is a US
citizen. Thank you for your response.

Yes, you can stall the process at the NVC stage by not doing the AOS and ds 260
and you would need to once a month inform NVC to keep the case open
but why ;? as the process will take over a year / some take 18 months just to get to the interview stage
1 hour ago, Pinkrlion said:She can apply for the I-130. When she gets the letter of approval, she can wait up to one year to pay fee, pick an agent, and complete DS-260.
JA Embassy is open and interviewing, so she really need to think about the timeframe of how long to interview after QD'd.
2 hours ago, Boiler said:I would not get too excited about that even pre Covid it was over a year, and now probably 2 years or so if she files now.
Thanks. Okay

🙂🙂 Thank you. You have been so informative. I appreciate it.🙏. Just asking necessary information. She will decide from there on.

It will take a year or so to even get that far for the interview to be scheduled and mom doesn't go to embassy to apply / the daughter applies here for mom using the I 130 form / mom has plenty of time to take care of her business in her country
Thank you very much. I appreciate your help. I was just reading an article on the I130 application. It said that from the approve date the application doesn’t expire. You will just have to keep checking with NVC to update them or after a year you pay a fee.

The friend needs to be a USC to file for her mom
and it is taking well over 12 months so not much help with the newborn but maybe as the baby grows up
as for a tourist visa, she can't work and this means "can't care for the baby " and that visa is short lived (only a few months)
BTW if she is USC and can sponsor her mom, the husband's income can come into play/ they need to check the poverty guidelines and the cost of the health care insurance they would have to provide for the mom
Thank you very much. Yes, the husband will help her. I didn’t mean a visiting visa, I meant, when she gets approve in the USA. She still has to go in the embassy in her country to get the visa to come here. So can she wait a bit in her country before moving with her application?

Hi, everyone not sure if I’m in the right forum. A friend of mine wants to bring her mom to the US. But she is pregnant now. Her husband is the only one working now. Would that affect the filing for her mom? (In terms of dependent) She was thinking about filing now. When it gets approve how long the mom has to wait before going to the embassy to apply for visa? Please help!!!!!

Thank you. I tried to get both done at the same time. We called and was given the run around. We applied for the I751 interview June 2019 and applied for the N400 September 2020 and I751 is still pending. Now that the N400 is complete I'm praying that pushes them to make a decision. I'm praying they just approve it like I have seen happen to many 🙏.
Did my N400 interview yesterday and I passed. They took my documents looked over them and gave them back to me. The officer said he has too many documents for me lol. As of now I’m placed in line for a oath ceremony and they will send me the notice with the time, date and location of my oath. That is what my status is showing now.
