Here's my timeline for my passport application. I applied along with my son (we're both first-time applicants).
 
June 21, 2021               Submitted our applications (Routine Service) at a local library in Houston, TX  
July 12, 2021                Checks cashed; Applications in process; locator number 34 (Charleston, SC Processing Center)
September 4, 2021      Incoming mail preview (USPS Informed Delivery) showed our passports were due to be delivered
September 7, 2021      Our passports (old style/regular size) were delivered in the mailbox (sent from Tucson)
September 11, 2021    My naturalization certificate and my son's birth certificate were returned in the mail (sent from Charleston)
 
I was aware of the processing delays, so I decided to remain patient and check the status at regular intervals -- July 30, August 30, etc. I never received any notifications throughout the process; hence, it was a pleasant surprise when I saw that the passports were ready on September 4 (after I'd checked the status on August 30).

Interview Update: I attended my interview today (04/16/2021) and got approved. The interview was scheduled for 9.35 a.m. but I arrived early and checked in at 9 a.m. The Officer called me in by 9.15 a.m. and I was done by 9.25 a.m. He checked my interview letter, confirmed my fingerprints (left and right index fingers), checked my green card, took my picture, and proceeded with the civics portion of the exam. 
 
Civics questions asked:
Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived? Why did the colonists fight the British? What are the two parts of the U.S. Congress? Who did the United States fight in World War II? What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States? We elect a President for how many years? Reading and Writing Portion:
Question: What do we pay to the government? Written Answer: We pay taxes.  
I was asked about my work, and we chatted briefly about it. He then asked me to confirm my name was spelled correctly and directed me to sign my N-400 form. I also signed to confirm my details to be shown on the naturalization certificate. 
 
After I'd signed, he told me he was approving my application, gave me a copy of the approval form, and told me to look out for my oath ceremony notice between 30 and 60 days. And that was it. 
 
It was a straightforward experience, and I'm thankful for everything.
 
My USCIS account status shows: "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled." I'll update again when I get my oath ceremony date.

Finally a notification of interview scheduled. 

My journey is finally over. Had my interview and same day oath ceremony at the San Jose, CA office today.

Wife is finally a US Citizen! She had her interview today and oath ceremony same day. Glad to finally be done with the process. VisaJourney has been a great resource the past few years.

At long last, my journey have came to an end. I've passed my interview and took the oath right upstairs.
 
I went to the interview 15 mins early as allowed on the letter. Waited about an maybe 30-40 mins, there were like 10 people waiting at the waiting room before the officer called for me. The officer started right off with the civic test, reading and writing test, which is pretty quick (I studied everything to the T). Then the next part was asking me mostly about stuff that's already on my application. The only change she made was my job title (the online form didn't really gave much choice on job title selection) then made me sign it. We did some casual chatting as well, but probably to gauge how well my English is. In the end she said she approved me, and I am to take the oath upstairs, with three others like me. Just in nick of time too, I heard the lady who administer our oath wondered "why did they send them up, it's passed 2:30pm" (it was 2:35pm). Hi everyone, I had my oath ceremony this past Friday, 3/19. I am now a US citizen (dual citizen).
 
I applied a year ago today, 3/22/2020. I applied online. I got receipt notice dated the very next day, 3/23/'20. 
 
9 months passed and nothing on bio.
On December 10th, 2020, I got bio reuse.
On Dec 14th, 2020, I got an invite for the interview.
My interview was on Jan 13, 2021 at the KCMO FO, and I was approved.
On my birthday on Feb 4, I got oath letter sent out.
and on 3/19, I took the oath in KC, KS, at the courthouse.
Today, the online account changed to 'naturalization certificate issued'.
Today as well, I applied for the US passport which meant that I had to mail in my original certificate. I hope I can get it back.
 
So that is the story. Here I am, feeling like it was a very anticlimactic ending. I gotta say the bio stage was the most frustrating stage ever. Fun note, as I got reuse the nat certificate pic was the same as the one on my greencard. So, at least I get to hold on to that as a nostalgic souvenir. I have scans of my greencard, which I had to give up of course. 

I received my interview notification today via email. It's also showing in my USCIS account. No date yet, but it'll probably be sometime next month. Will update when I know for sure. 

Update: My interview is on April 16.
