It is... Let's stay on top of those news and hope for the best! :-)

Just general, those who are filing for N-400. It is becoming very personal, but just hearing about this, it is making me sick to my stomach.

Obamacare is one of the reasons he is trying to impose these laws.

I am leaning on your good news part -- we are such a strong group of people and we also have a strong group of supporters, so any big change will for sure cause chaos. Let's all hope for the best for everyone. We need to work extra hard to make a descent living  and I am really proud of this in a way -- we don't give up and that's one of the best qualities you can own. :)

AlluringSoul reacted to NikLR in N-400 based on 5 year rule. Married to US citizen, now divorced. What should I expect at the interview?
I've been married for 6 years and can produce maybe 10 photos of us together.  I've only met my MIL once, and my FIL 3 times.  He hasn't seen any of my family besides my kid since we were married.  Does that make your relationship more genuine because you take 1500 photos with friends and family?  No it doesnt.
We have wills, own a home and cars together, have a joint bank account but no joint credit cards.

The OP will likely have to show they were in a genuine relationship but that relationship ending after 3 stressful years of immigration isnt the end all to their naturalization based on 5 years.  The USCIS eventually decided the relationship was genuine to begin with!

AlluringSoul got a reaction from Fluffy_cat in I-751 Evidence: is this enough?
    Hi,

It looks like you have a good amount! The person that was preparing my package told me that if you have sufficient evidence, photos and affidavits are like "extras" -- still an evidence but not as strong as tax transcripts or leases would be.  I pretty much had the same list for my package, and if you have medical insurance together, also include that. I included affidavits even after I was told not to, just because I rather give everything that I can at the beginning than be sorry later. Put your pictures in a ziplock bag and don't go crazy -- 20 -25 photos should be enough I feel. I think I had the same amount.

And for W2 & taxes -- I put everything! W2's, taxes, signed eFile form,  tax transcripts, actual copies of taxes.

    :-) Good luck!

When a new policy/law whatever you call it comes into play, it usually effective staring from the release day. It is the same story with DACA -- any changes to the existing procedures affected new applicants only.

& Good luck Austin! :-) When you have a picture of you screaming while holding your naturalization, just share! I bet we all want to see your face heheh

To add to medical insurance, do you have any medical bills? I get statements from our insurance stating visit details. If you can call the medical insurance and ask them to fax you a letter stating your policy is active and you are on it, that would be great as well. But don't worry if you don't have it.

Car insurance/car payments/tolls - anything with both of your names on it will work.

In regards to your joint bank accounts, show statements from the last 2 years -- I don't know what you meant by copy of but just making sure.

It looks like your package is good to go! Good luck

When it comes to bank statements, its best to include entire last two years.

And you are good to go!

True, one officer says something that totally differs from what the next officer you call tells you. Not getting discouraged is what matters here. I've gotten plenty of those worthless responses from USCIS, they lost my file at one point and couldn't locate it... I just kept moving and being patient is a key. Good luck with everything! :-)

Affidavits are usually submitted when you pretty much have nothing to show.  Prepare as much as you can now (all those joint accounts, medical insurance if you have, taxes etc.).

Whatever you submitted at the interview/with RFE doesn't need to be submitted again. Everything from the time you received your conditional green card should be enough -- that is about 2 years worth of stuff.

AlluringSoul got a reaction from Laredy26 in AOS Interview- NO decision ,IO said will request for additional documents
From my understanding, you most likely will get an RFE (like for that medical form) to be submitted.
On my interview, I had documents missing but because USCIS lost them, they had to request them. And, always always always have originals with you!!!

AlluringSoul got a reaction from wimpybrutte123 in AOS case not approved because local office missing the I-130 documents
I also have a temporary file created... Previous case that I filed before i-485 with my husband. lIO told me their will request it & should be done in few days... and Im waiting over a month now. I think things like that can get expedited but that is up to USCIS how fast they are willing to work. It is fustrating and I got no answer from anyone (infopass, over the phone,nothing...)
