    JNC09 reacted to EG&XY in W2 SAYS exemptions/allowances federal: 3
You are fine, it only means that you may have over/under paid in taxes throughout the year. So you may owe more not to make up for it, or you may get money back now because they withheld too much during the year.

The number of exemptions/allowances that you claim with your employer doesn't have to match what shows on your actual tax filing. Some people choose to tell their employer to use more or fewer deductions when deciding how much tax to withhold from their pay. If you tell your employer to use fewer (such as 0) then they will withhold more money for taxes, so at the end you may get money back because they overestimated how much money you would owe in taxes. However, if you tell your employer to use more (such as 4) then they will withhold less money because they assume that your tax burden will be less, but at the end of the year you may end up owing additional money.

In the end it is the numbers that you claim on the tax filing (i.e., 1040) that mater for determining the exact taxes owed, and the amounts of money that your employer withheld throughout the year for the taxes. Some people choose to have their employer to take extra withholding (lower exemption/allowance) so that they can expect to get money back when they file their taxes. But other people prefer to get more with each paycheck (have fewer taxes withheld, higher exemption/allowance) and then owe money to the government when they file their taxes. They key is to not owe too much at the end of the year, if you owe over a certain amount at the end of the year then they may penalize you and add on extra fees for not paying enough throughout the year.

Texas does not issue DLs for limited terms to permanent residents. The period of validity for a Texas DL for a permanent resident is the same for a US citizen regardless of the expiry date on your green card.

Thanks everyone, glad this helps others! I emailed my lender and i have a warranty deed, this is what they want to see, and mortgage payments too. I found out when i pay it all off is when we get the Title! I am in the state of Texas so it differs in other States

    Congratulations on the home purchase!
And no, you don't need a deed - and since you have a mortgage, you will not have a deed.
Depending on which state you're in and which lender you used, you either have a just your mortgage documentation, or a Deed of Trust. Your closing docs typically establish that you've taken a mortgage - and will own the property if/when its paid off. You do not own anything at this moment.
For ROC purposes, if the mortgage is in both your names, submit either the closing docs, or even a monthly mortgage statement. You want to prove cohabitation and co-mingling of assets/finances, which either of those will satisfy.
    Good luck!

I had a wedding (civil marriage), wedding celebration (party to celebrate marriage) one month after the wedding, Religious wedding 7 months later to satisfy requirements in my wife's country and finally a wedding banquet on the 1st anniversary of our civil marriage in my wife's country.
You can do pretty much anything you like as long as you satisfy the marriage in 90 days requirement. The civil marriage is our official anniversary but we celebrate the religious wedding as well.

I could never treat my husband they way she is.... we got cheap wedding rings because he told me we will get better ones when we can afford them, if she truly loved you she would appreciate all you have done (which sounds like a lot!!!) and not care about a wedding band so much. Wow, my heart dropped when i read this. You deserve someone who appreciates you and loves you (doesnt sound like she does, and to be honest sounds like she is using you in a way ). You don't need to do the AOS package, you haven't committed to that yet.

It means what date did you enter US, they don't always give out I-94 forms as it is done online now. If you can't remember your arrival you can look up your i-94 online here https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/consent.html - You can print one out for the AOS package too to prove legal entry.

Hey, we had our interview today for a AOS. I was interviewed on my own and that was all. the interviewer didn't take all of my evidence as she said she had too much. also said 'i will see you in two years' a few times. She did not take my passport or anything and i didn't receive anything.
I keep reading about people checking status on ceac? what is this and can i do it?
Does my interview sound normal :S
