I-130, your birth certificate (BC), his BC, his marriage certificate (MC), his wife’s BC, your parents’ MC, BCs of his children.

Also if your brother or his wife have been married before, the divorce decrees (DD) or death certificates (DC) of former spouses

    Thank you Mike ,

    just have a question

our parents were married in the early 70s and that time , they weren’t issued any MC, then our mom passed away in the 90s and our dad in 2020 ,

Will we need DC or MC for them because they weren’t issued any MC back in 70s ?

amd now they are both gone

    Yes it is.

What is likely going to happen is that when she gets a green card, if her sole name is say  Aisha, the green will have:

    First name: FNU

    Surname: Aisha

If she is not OK with that, then she has 20+ years to do something about it.

    Hello Mike,

can you share what documents are required to apply for my brother and his family please?

    thank you

I have no idea.   I’m saying that whatever you put as the derivative’s name on your brother’s petition needs to match any official documents issued by their country.

Do you understand that nothing at all will happen with this case for 20 years??

Yes I do understand that, I have seen some of my friends they brought their brothers within 12 years, I know it’s a long process I even told my brother it will take 25 years, thank you for your answer

The name on any form should match what is on her birth certificate, marriage license etc.

You can petition your brother and his wife.   The child will probably age out, because it will will take at least 20 years for a visa to become available.  Might want to familiarize yourself with the visa bulletin.

I hope you understand my question,

    My question was

is it okay not to have last name at all ?

I heard that you must have last name

let’s say your name is “ Josep” and you don’t have last name at all . Will this be a problem?

  5. Hello guys ,

I am a us citizen , I would like to apply for my brother and his wife and a child to come to the USA as a LPR, my first question is

do I have to apply separately for them or it will be one application for all of them , they are three people, husband, wife and a child

    second question is

my brother wife doesn’t have last name , she is born in Pakistan and people really don’t care about last name there , will this be a problem for her when I am filing I-130 for them ?

    TIA

congrats to all those who are seeing progress!

My N-400  interview was scheduled early April but got canceled due to Covid. I am still waiting on re-scheduled letter. A friend of mine whose Boston N-400 interview in March was re-scheduled for July but I have not heard anything yet from my case. I have an N-400 AND I-751 pending (currently on stamp now which expires soon...)

Any updates from anyone in MA (boston office?) on re-scheduled interviews?

my N-400 interview was cancelled when i arrived into the field office in Boston, MA on January 16th 2020 due to my pending case of I-751, then about a moth later i got my I-751 approved and received my 10 years GC , but i am still waiting for my N-400 interview, this is getting crazy and crazy

hey @Studentss did you end up updating your address? If you filed your N400 online, you can see an estimated wait time - was yours affected? I'm kind of in the same boat, wondering if it's going to cause a delay to my application even though the new office in my case, is less backlogged than the current one. Thanks!

    hello RSC13,

i filed in July 2019 N-400 and my  interview was scheduled on 16th January 2020 when i arrived to the field office in Boston, MA, they broke my heart, they cancelled my interview because my I-751 application was pending later at the end of February i got my I-751 approved and received the Greed Card some days later but i am still waiting for my N-400 rescheduling,

Have you checked the processing times in Dallas? Seems like entire State of TX is backlogged to next century! I You are not supposed to go to back of the line on case transfers and USCIS should honor the original date of filing. Depending on how far along in your case is, I'd say delay your move to TX for a few months if possible.....  All of this is just my opinion.

But you answer your original question - File an AR-11 online and then call the support center (in a few days) to confirm your new address is updated in their systems and reflecting accurately on your N400 application. While you are on the phone with them, confirm that your case WILL move to TX and all further processing will be done out of TX? It may look unnecessary but id recommend confirming. Your address is suppose to be updated automatically on your pending application BUT I'd want to make sure by getting a confirmation from a support agent.  You don't want the interview letter to be sent to your MA address by a slight oversight/mistake. However, be prepared for an hour long wait time to get to an agent.

    Thank you LightDisplay

i am thinking to move from Boston, MA to Dallas TX next month while i am waiting for my N-400 interview, my case is being handled in Boston, MA,

if there is any actions required from my side please let me know

    Thank you in advance
