Mick & Janni got a reaction from Ksenia_O in How long after NOA1 do you get RFE if any?
I can imagine it takes as long as it would take to get a NOA2, you basically have to wait until they even look at your petition and then they decide if you'll get a NOA2 or an RFE. It takes just as long, which means there's no way of knowing how long it'll take as it's very individual.

Mick & Janni got a reaction from willygp in January NOA1 recipients but no NOA2 yet !!
Our NOA1 is January 4, our estimated time for NOA2 was 14-16 February, we still haven't received anything. I think there are even people who got their NOA1 in december who still haven't got their NOA2 or an RFE, but also people who got their NOA1 after us who are already approved. It's weird that they don't handle the petitions by what date the NOA1 was sent out.

Mick & Janni got a reaction from marryingparis in No NOA2 yet
We're in the same seat, NOA1 on January 4th and we're not able to check our case status on their website, app or via costumer service. We just get "case not found with USCIS" when we try to check it. So you're not alone.

JBDA, the medical office won't do the medical without your case number and you won't get your case number until after you receive your NOA2, NVC receives your petition from USCIS and creates the case number and sends it to the embassy. Also, as the other posters mentioned, the medical is only valid for 6mo's and your Visa itself is tied to that validity date so if you do it too soon, you shorten your validity timeframe and can potentially have to re-do the medical before you get to the interview stage and the medical is not cheap and you don't want to have to pay twice for it. I know you want to jump ahead in the process but if you do things out of order, you can really mess things up. Everyone here has gone through or is going through the process and understands wanting to get things done but you have to be patient and go through the steps in the right order. A lot of patience is needed for this process.

Check out the Scandinavian thread and ask there, maybe other Norwegians can help you out: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/185-scandinavians/

Mick & Janni got a reaction from Spalderdash in Applying for K-1 visa but NOT intending to emigrate
It's not illegal to get married on a tourist visa or on the VWP. Go ahead, as long as you don't stay longer than 90 days.
Bring things that show you will leave USA within 90 days. Like a return ticket and such that you can show them if they ask.

Mick & Janni got a reaction from dylnvncnt in K3 or K1? Engaged to Bulgarian and both currently living in Europe (merged)
When your fiancé enters the US on a K-1 visa and you two get married, you file for AOS and EAD and AP. EAD is a work permit so he can work before he gets his greencard, and AP is so he can travel outside the US if he wishes to. It takes about 90 days to get those two, you don't have to wait until the AOS (green card) is approved (which can take up to a year or longer).

Mick & Janni got a reaction from Meli BZ in ELIS (USCIS) Electronic Immigration System
Like I said, your woman had a K-1, that is a non-immigrant visa (she doesn't apply for a green card until after she has already entered the country and married you). Had she already been your wife and you went for the CR-1 visa, then yes, she would've had to pay the immigrant fee as that visa is an immigrant visa.
All of us pay a fee before the interview, I will too when I get to that part. It has nothing to do with the ELIS however, as I'm applying for a non-immigrant visa (a K-1).
On USCIS page it also tells you that you don't need to pay that fee or have that number:
"The following groups do not have to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee: -Children who enter the United States under the orphan or Hague adoption programs; -Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants; -Returning lawful permanent residents (SB-1s); and -K nonimmigrants."

Yes they do. It comes with the passport when you get the visa.

Mick & Janni got a reaction from Shauneg in I-864 form: Irrelevant fields & Insufficient space for phone number
I think you can fill in as much as possible on your PC, then you print the form and fill in the rest (like the phone number).

Mick & Janni got a reaction from mehogany in Proof
We didn't list every proof, we just wrote:
"- Proof of having met in person in the past two years
- Proof of ongoing relationship"
We also didn't sign the proof we sent, we did however add a little info on the side to explain what the proof was showing, just to be extra clear.
We also sent our itinerary in the package (the one from the trip that had already happened though, not a future one). Not sure if they'd care about it or not, but we wanted to add as much as possible. -

I did bio page and all pages until no more stamps. So basically if I had stamps on pages 4, 5 and 8, I sent in copies of pages 1 to 8 but not of the blank pages after 8. Hope that makes sense.

Yeah you'll be fine. Plenty of people having the interview before the medical results has arrived at the embassy. Just means they won't be able to issue your visa until they have received it.

Put the address you send the I-129F petition to, OR put no addresses at all. They are not a requirement.

Mick & Janni got a reaction from ditdot in K-1 petition - proof of ongoing relationship question
I took screen shots of our Skype conversations, from the very beginning when we first added each other and throughout the whole time. I think I took between two and three screen shots per month (sometimes more), so there were quite a few to send after chatting/talking for almost a year.
I took screen shots of conversations we had on these topics:
-our families
-jobs
-random lovey dovey stuff
-getting engaged
-who was going to move to who
-marriage/wedding talk
-plans on having a family
..and other things I figured could be nice for them to read. I'm thinking they won't read 2000 pages of Skype conversation anyway so I want to make it easier for them by showing specific parts they might prefer.

It can take a few days for an avatar change to catch up. So if you set one and then change it, it might be 2 days or 3 before the new one is visible. Just a quirk of the site.
