    Congratulations to all of you!  I think the agencies are picking up their speed and they are doing a great job.... Let's give them credit whenever it is due!  I hope they keep up their speed and keep up the great work.

    I completely agree with you. People often forget that there’s literally millions of pending applications which require verification and careful vetting. This takes time and a huge effort, especially during a world-wide pandemic.

    Honestly, if it comes down to it, I’d rather wait a little longer than compromise quality and security. In my opinion, they’re doing an excellent job, all things considered.

  2. Hi everyone,

    I recently applied for my passport. Some of the most relevant info:

    * Passport book only.

    * Expedited processing.

    * Priority return shipping.

    * USPS appointment: July 8th.

    * DoS Receipt: July 14th.

    * Money order cashed: July 14th.

    * Approval notice: August 3rd.

    * Tentative delivery date: August 6th (as per DoS  approval email).

    * Processing Center: NH (based on first two numbers)

    Hope this info is useful for someone also waiting for their passport.

    Yeah I live out off 290 and pass the SS office and empty lot everyday wonder when they will ever open. Goodness.
    My husband is a trucker so not alot of time to do stuff. So he will probably have to wait till his next home stay in August.

    I am just happy and releaved we are done.

    Congratulations for completing this important step!

    And I am done! I had my ceremony today and it was very low key.

    You join about 50 others and line up outside waiting to go in one by one. Masks on, no visitors, have your paperwork filled out and bring all your previous cards etc.

    Once you're through security you go into a room and surrender your green card and your appointment letter. You're seated 6 feet from someone else and there are 5-6 rows of people (approx 50 people in attendance). Very short speech is given by the department head, there's a packet on your seat containing information, passport application, US flag and the pledge/oath written. You stand up and hold your hand up with the others and the Oath is read to which you say I do. After that you're called up to the desk and collect your certificate (check everything is written correctly) then you leave. I was in and out within 25 mins and actually lined up outside longer than anything else.

    I can't believe the journey is over! What a buzz to be completely finished... now just the passport!

    Good luck everyone, the finish line is nearly there!

    Congratulations on completing this process and thank you for sharing your experience. I’m  surprised they’re having ceremonies with ~50 people at a time. Hopefully this will clear the backlog relatively quickly.

    My ceremony will be next Wednesday. Looking forward to it!

    Congratulations! I just checked my status and I was also scheduled for April 1st.

    I had my interview on February 18th.

    Looks like we’ll be attending the same ceremony!

    It'll depend on when they do your card.

    Our approval notice was April 29th, we received the NOA in the mail on May 4th, and then we have the tracking number for the green card today saying the GC should be delivered May 8th.

    It should be pretty quick after you get the approval notice. I don't check the mail every single day, so I'm not sure exactly when it showed up in the mailbox, but I think it was probably Thursday of last week. The USCIS case status site updated with a Priority Mail tracking number for the green card on Thursday night/Friday morning, and it showed up on Monday.

    Thanks! Appreciate the info.

    Based on the approval letter USCIS prefers to “overestimate” and gives a general time frame of 60 days.

  7. Hi everyone,

    Our case was approved on May 1st.

    Info:

    - Service Center: California

    - Application sent: 04/27/2018

    - Received: 04/30/2018

    - NOA: 06/07/2018

    - Extension: 08/18/2018

    - Biometrics Appointment: 03/14/2019

    - Approval: 05/01/2019

    The “new” site still shows as “Case received” but the “old” site went from showing an error to “New card being produced.”

    We were planning on filing the N-400 but decided to wait until the I-751 approval as we’ve noticed that applying for naturalization while having the pending ROC can sometimes delay the latter. Needless to say, we’ll be applying for it very shortly.

    Hope everyone’s cases get approved soon :D

  8. Yayyyyyyyyyy!!!! Congratulations!!!

    I have great news too!!!

    My solo I-212 was approved 07/01/2016!!!

    So, in the next few days I hope I´ll see an "ISSUED" at the CEAC site! :)

    Have a safe trip and God bless you guys!!!!

    Amazing news!!!!!!! Just a little bit more and your case will be approved with the visa in hand.

    Thanks for all the support and help, it has been very helpful knowing that there are other people that understand. Have a safe trip as well!

  9. Hi, quick update. My husband's visa has been marked as ISSUED through the CEAC website. The embassy contacted us and said that his passport will be mailed next week with his visa, We're so thrilled :dancing:!!! It took around 20 days from the day he sent his passport to the embassy until the visa was approved. I hope this information helps someone in a similar situation.

  10. Was it a solo I-212? :)

    If yes, which POE?

    Oh, I just saw that yes!!!!

    Congratulations!!!!

    Blondedoc,

    Thank you! We're so excited and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

    It was a solo I-212, and it was filed to the USCIS Miami Field Office. Solo I-212s are very frustrating because there's limited information online. Contacting your congressmen/senator seems to be the best way to move it forward.

    I hope your case is resolved soon and keep us updated too!

  11. I want to give an update on our case. We contacted our congresswoman and she helped us move our case forward with the embassy. As it turns out, my husband didn't need the waiver after all and the embassy has acknowledged that he is now eligible for his visa.

    He will need to retake his medical exams and send the passport to the embassy.

    Contacting our congresswoman was the decisive factor that helped our case move forward.

  12. Lioness,

    Thank you for your reply. When you say you were approved, do you mean the visa? How long did it take for the USCIS to communicate with the embassy after you received the letter stating that you guys didn't need the waiver?

    Sorry for asking multiple questions at a time. It's just that we're somewhat excited about finally getting a decision and want to be together as soon as possible.

  13. Hi everyone,

    We had our interview for the CR1 immigrant visa on December 7th, 2015 at the Bogotá consulate. The visa was denied based on my husband's immigration history (deportation before the age of 18) and the consul told us that he was eligible to apply for the I-212 (lone) and that once that's approved he'll get his visa. She mentioned that the previous deportation was the only ineligibility that he has.

    Well, we sent the I-212 on February 29th, 2016 to the Miami Field Office and today we received a letter from USCIS stating that my husband doesn't need the I-212 because he was never deported or removed from the United States.

    The consulate told us that he needed the I-212 and now the USCIS is saying he doesn't need it. We want to know what happens next? Do we send this letter to the consulate telling them that the USCIS is saying that he doesn't need the waiver and therefore he is eligible to get his visa?

    We're going to contact our lawyer first thing in the morning, however we'd love to get people who has gone through something similar.

    Thank you!
