Do you think because of filed N400? I don’t file N400 yet and my I 751 never update since March 2018. Just waiting another month to file the case outside normal process time.
Just updated today!

I had my N-400 bio-metric appointment today. Now we wait I guess, along with the pending I-751.
Congratulations to those of you who got approved recently.

Looks like the immigration gods smiled on me today. Got a notification that new card is being produced! I think my case serves as an example that it isn’t always as plain sailing as some people expect. I’m glad I’m overly prepared for all eventualities and kept as much evidence as possible throughout.
Congratulations!

Hi all,
I submitted my N-400 today while I-751 is still pending. I was wondering if anyone could tell me from their experience as to what should I be looking forward to.
Thank you. You all here are great!

Also, was anyone asked to surrender their expired conditional card to the USCIS? I was asked to mail it back. Wondering if this is something new they've started doing. I didn't think this was routine earlier. Thanks.

hey guys, I have an info pass appointment next week and I was wondering, do I need any proof for needing to travel home etc? Im gonna take my passport, extension letter and my expired green card. I haven't booked a flight yet as I wanted to wait until I get the stamp. My I-751 extension expired 20 days ago.
Hi,
I had to travel internationally in the months of July and August, so I called the Uscis and spoke to level 2 officer and she made an info pass request on my behalf. I had already booked my tickets and since I wasn't going to be in the country to get my passport stamped in July, they stamped my passport in June itself. I did have to carry the tickets for proof, by the way. But I think this was becuase I was requesting a stamp in June instead of July as the norm is. So, in your since the extension has already expired, I don't think they'd require you to submit any proofs.

Hi everybody,
I am new here. Did apply in the month of Jan., 2018. Received an extension letter for eighteen months, which expired in August hence got an extension stamp on the passport which expires in March 2020.
So, due to some goof up at USCIS, they reopened our case after I pointed it out to them. They had already sent our cheque back stating that my ROC request was not valid because according to them my marriage was already two years old when I entered US, which meant that they wanted to correct their mistake by now requesting me to fill form I-90 instead! This was based on wrong info as my marriage was not two years old when I entered the US. Anyhow, to cut the long story short, in trying to correct a mistake that wasn't there in the first place, they've basically taken over 20 months to give me an answer. Sometimes, I wonder why did I even bother to correct them!
Now when I wrote to them asking why is my case out of normal proceeding time, I got a letter saying that "security check is pending". I am not sure as to what this means. If anyone could throw a light on this, please?
Thank you.

Hi all. Exactly after three months of being here in the US has my plastic green card arrived in the mail. Just as the officer at the uscis field office here told me. So word of advice to all, dont panic if yours doesnt wihtin the stipulated three weeks. But do go check for ssn status at the field office if it doesnt wihtin three weeks of your arrival here. I did.
-
I have been here over seven weeks now, no plastic green card in sight yet. Got ssn after I went to apply afresh at the local ssn office.
-
A word of advice to all... When you land in the US do visit your local ssn field office to check the status of your ssn application if you had opted for in ds 260. Don't wait for it as you wait for the plastic green card. I realised when I went to ssn office after three weeks that they didn't have any ssn application pending from me and this is when I had opted for it. I filled in a new ssn application form there. After this it takes two days to get the ssn assigned meaning now you can get your number and get going with the things you immediately need the ssn for. And within two weeks the actual card will arrive in mail.
The plastic green card comes when it comes. Will enquirer with uscis field office here if don't get it in 60 days. Apparently 60 days is what you wait before making a complaint.
-
.I've heard the green card can take a few months. (the passport stamp acts as a GC for a year).
For the SSN - Did you choose the option in your DS-260 to receive it automatically? If not, you have to apply at SSN office. If you did apply, and still haven't received it, call them at 1-800-772-1213.
Did apply for ssn in ds 260. Also I did call that number and it seems you need to have a ssn to be able to speak to a human there! I think I will just go to the local ssn admin and get this sorted. Green card can wait, this can't. I don't see any other option.
-
Just to know, did you pay the $165 ?
I did pay the fee, also today called the uscis and apparently it can take up to 60 days. Wonder why they say three weeks at all.
-
So I have been in the US a little over three weeks now, but have not received the green card or the ssn in the mail yet. What do I have to do now? Anyone?
-Thanks
-
Yes, the green card and SSN will be sent to whatever address you put on the DS-260, where it said " please provide the address in the US where you want your permanent residence card mailed".
Thank you!

Dwheels! So I have landed in the us safe and sound. I though have a question. Will uscis have the address I mentioned in the day 260 form to send the ssn and green card to? I am asking this because while we were dealing with uscis during the petition stage we had a different address. Our address changed from the NVC stage and we filled in the new address in the ds 260. I am just writing in to confirm that there won't be any confusion with the address as we are dealing with uscis now. Do we have to inform uscis of the address or will they have the update?
-
The 2 digits you don't put. WOW you got that back fast. And don't forget the A0 in front of your Alien number
Thanks! I know! Maybe because I am a resident of Mumbai. In fact except the mess that NVC is everything else has been pretty smooth.
-
Okay so i am trying to pay the green card fee online. In the case ID field when I put in the case ID, which now has two extra digits as printed on the visa, the USCIS cased ID field rejects it. Is this normal? What am I to do? Should I then proceed with filling the case ID as it was earlier without the two extra digits? Dwheels?

So I had my interview today. Approved on the spot. Only question asked was how did we two meet. Nothin else. Neither proof of relationship nor financial support docs were asked for. It was a piece of cake. Except though before the interview, at the document collection window I was told that NVC had not updated some crucial info on the ds 260 and I was told to go find a cyber cafe and fix that before the interview could happen. I did get a fright there, but managed all within the 90 minutes given to me. Back at the consulate in time for the interview.

Look who has an interview scheduled! 1st Feb it is. Phew!
They said I was scheduled today. I am not sure if they have started the scheduling for Feb. Ours could have moved due to the senator's request. We did learn last week that our case was sent to the supervisor for scheduling. But, for all those waiting for Feb, I'd suggest call and check. If not, Jan's round the corner anyway. Have a good year all.
CC at NVC: 23rd Oct.
Interview scheduled: 28th Dec.
Interview date: 1st Feb. 2016

Interview was on the 16th of Jan, they have scheduled me for oath ceremony on the 31st of this month itself! Guess this is it then. Pretty quick for New Orleans office. It took four months start to finish. Wait time at the onset was 11 months.
