  1. Hi, I'm joining the group 😊! I have just filed my N-400 application online on November 21st through 3 years of marriage though I was already eligible last year. Due to the fee increase that might take into effect on December 2nd, I had to file it right away. I got an NOA the next day, got the 2nd letter re: Biometrics yesterday where I am scheduled on December 11th. My estimated completion date as per uscis.gov website is on July 2020.

How's everyone else's case so far?

I wish everyone the best of luck!

I just came back from my biometrics appointment. It took me around 20 minutes. The estimated completion time now dropped to 7 months, I'm not sure if this is because I just completed the biometrics. The online status still shows "we scheduled your biometrics appointment."

Just completed my biometrics. Total process from check in to finger printing took about 6 minutes. On to the next process :)

Wow that sounds great! Glad you're both done with your biometrics @Valor @Bebe1. Much of luck to everyone!

I should receive another letter from USCIS re: biometrics schedule today as per usps digest. I cannot wait.

Got my NOA and now waiting on my biometrics.... est. wait time for completion is now Feb 2021! Yup Seattle is so behind

I wonder how accurate are these estimated waiting time that were given to all of us. I hope things will get a little bit faster @Yanirose.

Hey everyone. Joining the waiting train. I applied for N400 base off of 3 years married to a US citizen. I could of waited till next year March for 5 years but I didn’t feel like waiting. I applied on the 20th and and received an update online on the 23rd that they mailed my biometrics letter and hopefully it comes tomorrow. My estimated completion date is July2020

Wow, we're exactly on the same boat. I didn't apply at first on March of last year since my ROC at that time was still pending and later got an RFE. Wasn't really planning to file for n-400 six months after I got my 10-year GC but had no other choice when I was told by a friend last week about the fee increase on December.  I also applied on the 20th, just had the NOA letter but still waiting for the biometric schedule in the mail. Hope everythings goes well with everyone. I am hoping to get my biometrics done before I give birth to our second child since I am already on my 33rd weeks.

Oh I just checked with my lawyer and he said he submitted the applications by mail, I need to edit the spread sheet . Does anyone know how long does it take until uscis recoeve it, I live in Ohio , does it mean that my application was mailed to my field office which is Clevland

I see. Since it was filed by mail, there's no other way to check the status but to wait until you receive your N-400 NOA thru the mail. I believe I have seen one who filed by mail and got an NOA letter on our spreadsheet. @CelineDB filed it on Nov 7th and got an NOA 8 days after.

Right now only people who applied online will be able to see it in their uscis account. For paper filers you would need to wait till you receive the confirmation receipt with your case# then you have to manually add  the case# to your online uscis account to be able to see yours.

    Hope this helps!

If I am not mistaken, he has filed it online and he also put his entry on our spreadsheet. It says online there and not paper.

I logged in to my uscis account on USCIS app, I couldn’t find anything. I only see my old cases

I believe their response do vary since not everyone gets one real quick. I suggest to keep checking your email and go straight to uscis.gov website https://myaccount.uscis.gov click file on online which will let you log in to your uscis account (this one is only for applications filed online since I believe the one in the app is a different one, remember what I have mentioned to you the other day?).

Hi everyone! We submitted my husband's application via snail mail and it was delivered today. Has anyone else done this round through mail? How long did it take before you got confirmation of their receipt via text/email? Good luck to everyone!

Hi there! You can refer to our spreadsheet for reference. There are a few who did send theirs via mail.

I'd love to do it online but when you do fill it online how do you send the evidence then?  like how do they know it's your package.. excuse my ignorance

First, you have to make an online account (if you don't have any) with uscis.gov website. All you have to do is click on file online. You have to scan your documents that are needed for the n-400 application after answering all of the questions. It is way easier and is paper less.

Oh and one more question: I feel we need to rush this application as I don't want to pay more.

How did you organize all the supporting documents? We need to send a paper based application because I am applying from overseas and on military orders.

You can still file your application online as long as you have an internet connection. I highly suggest to do it online instead, I might be wrong but the status update for me is way faster than sending an application through mail.

I have seen others mentioning that the fees will increase in December. Is this a proposed increase or has it been set in stone already?

Same here. I became eligible since March of 2018, however, since my ROC was still pending at that time, I have opted to just wait for it and I believe it was for the best since I have received an RFE on December 2018. The fee increase on December 2nd specifically for N-400 from $640 to $1,170 (excluding the fee for Biometrics) is way too much that I had to file for it online ASAP.

I will post the link here just in case some of you guys would like to know more.

This is all I have for now. I can't tell for sure but I won't be surprised if all these will take effect. I had no plan yet on applying for N-400, but I had to send it right away because the increase is too much.

I filed 11/22 too but haven’t received anything yet . Good luck :), which office is processing your application?  I live in Ohio , does anyone know which office will process Ohio cases?

I believe your field office is determined by where you live.

This link might help you find yours - https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

Type your zip code to see what field office is applicable to you.

I came across this one several hours ago when I found this thread while reading majority of the comments.

Thank you , I will turn the notifications on. I still don’t have a case # for my N400 to add , Are they going to send me a case number?

Since you just submitted your application yesterday, you may want to wait for a status update first. As soon as you get one, your case number will be mentioned there. I suggest that you keep an eye on your email and sms alert so you'll know when there is one already.

  15. 31 minutes ago, Malak1 said:

Where to find your case updates ? Is it on the app ?

No, it's on their website www.uscis.gov and if you file yours online, log in to your account and you will see it there and on the email associated with your uscis account. Hope it helps. Likewise, you may also would want to add your receipt number on your my uscis account if you have one https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do;jsessionid=D0684480F9DDEF702520003D9E306025.
