Wow! That's fast. I was surprised to know that August & September filers were already attending interviews.

Means I have to start preparing for the test. I was kind of pushing it off to somewhere around March next year to start preparing. No longer doing that.

I have seen threads from those who have filed early this year, who just got interviewed recently. I don't know but it seems to me that everything is quite unpredictable. But yeah, we better start preparing as early as possible (I have tried to review once and it wasa few days after I have filed my application online) since we never know when will USCIS schedule us for an interview.

Much luck to all of us here! 😊

Does anyone know how accurate the estimated completion timelines are?

I chanced upon the August 2019 and September 2019 filers room and they are already having their interviews though they reported their estimated completion times as being set to mid to late 2020 etc.

If this trend continues, it's possible our interviews will be scheduled anywhere from February or March 2020.

I'm used to waiting several months (AOS took 9 months and ROC took 13 months) so I find it interesting that the N400's seem to be processed much faster.

I don't really have any idea as to how accurate it is, but my friend who filed two days ahead of me is already due for an interview next month (January 17th). She was like 😲😲😲 and so did I.

That's great. Yes they were all nice and they did not have any wait time. Also reading from your post earlier, glad you are done with your biometrics before your child is born. Congratulations soon to become mommy !! 😊

Thank you so much @Pete20155!! I am already a Mom, now soon to be a Mom of 2. I believe the perfect time if anyone will attempt to walk in is in the afternoon. I was so happy when we got there because I got to finish everything real quick 😊 .

HI All,  I did an early walk-in for my bio today 12/11 at the USCIS Alexandria, VA support center. Originally scheduled for 12/16. They did ask me why I am coming in today rather than wait till 16th. I explained I was busy that week and following week so I would not be able to make it for two weeks and then holiday time would start. The officer was nice, he just smiled and said I will let you do it today. The whole thing lasted less than 10 minutes, in and out.

Just logged in to USCIS online account to see that status was updated to "We reviewed your biometrics" and the estimated completion date changed from June 2020 to July 2020.

    Good luck !

Awesome! I was there too earlier and they were all nice. Glad they have let you walk in for your biometrics. 😊

  5. Just had my biometrics appointment today. I was originally scheduled at 1530H, but we went there immediately after my OB appointment and arrived there at 1240H. We didn't stay there that long and there were only three applicants when we got there including yours truly. We probably just stayed there for like five minutes and at 1300H, I got an SMS and an email saying that my case was just updated and that they were actively reviewing my case. Had to log in to my uscis.gov account and the estimated completion date is now a month earlier (used to be July 2020). I was handed out a reviewer but there is also the one that you can study online which can be found on their website. I am very delighted that I'm done with biometrics before giving birth.

thank you for your reply. are you under 5 or 3 years rule? do you submit also your tax transcript.because i read also that you can bring your tax transcript on the day of the interview.

You're welcome. I was under 3 years rule. Wasn't really planning on applying for N-400 6 months after I got my 10-year GC but due to fee increase, I had to do it right away though I was already eligible while my I-751 was still pending at that time. Yes, I did attach our last tax transcript from IRS for the last three years (since I have filed it online).

  8. @Pete20155 @Yanirose have you tried to click on documents on your tab next to your case history? I just saw it this morning though it prompted on my case status tab that it might take a few days before it will show up. Mine has a hyperlink on it and it landed me to a pdf copy of my biometrics appointment letter though I have received mine in the mail on the 29th. Thought of sharing this info just in case you haven't checked it yet.

Hello folks, Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving ! I received email from USCIS yesterday morning saying they have taken action on my case and to login and check the status. When I logged in, I was glad to see the status "We scheduled your biometrics appointment" View your letter on your documents tab for the appointment date, time, and location. However when I checked the documents tab , it did not have any letter. May be they take some time to upload the Biometeric appointment letter. Did anybody else experience similar situation?  Is this something I need to be worried or I should call the USCIS customer service ? So far I have not received any letters from USCIS via Paper Mail. Please suggest.

On another note, I am happy that the estimated case completion date shows June 2020 (6 months).

Hey yes I am in the same boat! My biometric got scheduled today but there's nothing in my documents yet. It does say check back another time to see the document so hopefully on Monday or Tuesday

@Pete20155 @Yanirose The last time I have checked (which was yesterday night), my uscis account doesn't show any update and it has remained the same since November 22nd that they have scheduled my biometrics appointment. I was able to receive their second letter via mail on the 29th re: my biometrics schedule, so you should both receive it too hopefully anytime this week. 😊

    The wait and worry starts.

Welcome to the group! Hope everything goes well with your application too! Bu the way, we have a spreadsheet for November 2019 filers. You might want to add yours, so we can keep track of our timelines.

    Here's the link 😊

  10. To be on the safe side, I think it would be best to print the documents on one side only. You have to present strong evidences of comingling like joint bank statements, loans, mortgage, insurance (health), proof that you both live in the same address like utility bills and cards, pictures together (I had to write the date and brief details at the back portion of each pictures). Also, if you have a child make sure to send them a copy of his/her birth certificate.

    Hope it helps.

I'm hoping someone can help clear up a bit of confusion.

I was told at a recent appointment (removal of conditional residence to unconditional) that I can file for citizenship after 3 years of marriage.

Looking at the N-400 form, it says have been a permanent resident for 3 years AND 3 years marriage.

We've been married for 3 years but my permanent resident card was issue on 06/03/17. So, does that mean I can't file until June 2020?

    Thanks for any help!

Yes, that is correct. But remember, your ROC has to be approved before you can be a citizen. You can file for N-400 once you become eligible, but if in case your ROC application is still pending, the USCIS officer won't be able to make a decision (if for example you'll get favorable result during your N-400 interview) not unless your ROC has been approved.

Hi everyone. I am planning to apply for my citizenship (N400) based on  5 years rules.  I have my  green card already. My husband passed away since 2015. Can you please help me what are the documents i need to prepare .Do i need to sent  again all the document that i submitted when i applied for my removal of condition.thank you so much and have a good day

Yes, since it is a different application from your ROC, you will need to submit all the required documents eventhough you have submitted them before. You can file it online, just have your documents scanned so you can upload it there. Just go to uscis.gov and click file online and make an account if you haven't already. Everything that they need from you to upload are all there. Good luck! I just filed mine on the 20th and due for Biometrics on the 11th.

  13. I agree with all of them. Unfortunately, the USCIS officer couldn't make a decision if one's interview is passed not unless one has successfully finished the ROC process. So let's say your husband files for N-400 while his I-751 is still pending, if in case he gets a favorable result on his N-400 interview, the decision will be put on hold while he is still waiting for his 10-year GC from his ROC application (since it has to be approved first). I have filed my ROC on October 2017, got an RFE letter on December 2018 and got my 10-year GC on May of this year and just filed my N-400 application online this month.

Ah I see. Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

Yes, I'm glad that my ROC was approved shortly after the biometrics so I didn't have to file N400 while waiting on the ROC approval. Good luck on your appointment and don't forget to bring your green card with you, they specifically ask to see GC if you are applying for naturalization.

Thank you so much! Yeah, no worries I always have my GC inside my wallet, appreciate the reminder though 😊. I am glad that I got the chance to be scheduled for Biometrics before I give 🤰birth and with that being said, I think I should be fine.

You can always try. I did it first thing in the morning and even went back in the afternoon with proof of all my flight tickets but was still asked to reschedule. Are you the applicant? If so, your husband doesn't have to be there with you.

Yes, I am the applicant. My husband was also with me when I had my previous biometrics schedule. Since I am on my third trimester and we have a toddler who will definitely ask for Mommy, they will most probably be with me again just like when I had my ROC biometrics last December of 2017.

By the way, I am so sorry to hear that. Never thought that they could be that strict if you try to walk in given a valid reason. 😥 But on the other hand, I am glad that everything went well afterwards and here you are, just waiting for your n-400 interview. Good luck again @Valor 😊. God bless.

Is your biometrics appointment in Alexandria? When I tried to do a walk in for my ROC biometrics couple months ago, I was rejected and asked to reschedule a new one. I was suppose to be traveling abroad during my original appointment but I ended up changing my return flights.

Yes, my Biometrics is again in Alexandria office this time. Oh, really? Was planning to come in prolly in the morning on that day. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully my husband can take a day off or if not, have his day off switched so he can accompany me. Was surprised that they were that strict as oppose to those who have successfully walked in for biometrics elsewhere.

Hi, I'm joining the group 😊! I have just filed my N-400 application online on November 21st through 3 years of marriage though I was already eligible last year. Due to the fee increase that might take into effect on December 2nd, I had to file it right away. I got an NOA the next day, got the 2nd letter re: Biometrics yesterday where I am scheduled on December 11th. My estimated completion date as per uscis.gov website is on July 2020.

How's everyone else's case so far?

I wish everyone the best of luck!

Sorry the edit option can no longer be found on my post.

Hey, saw you in the November group. Didn't realize that you were also in the DMV area. Glad to see some recent applicants from DC here!

Hi @Valor! Yes I am. Glad to see you here too! There's a spreadsheet in this thread too just in case you haven't seen it yet. 😊 My Biometrics is in two weeks, was thinking of doing a walk in since my OB appt is like half an hour before my schedule.
