Millz reacted to Shelly11 in N400 approved_ROC divorce waiver
I am writing this because I wish when I was going through this, someone else that had did. I hope to give hope to someone.
First, the best news of all, my oath ceremony is scheduled for 1-14-15 here in Houston. I am beyond happy and I want to thank Visa Journey for this forum. I could not have done it without your assistance.
My journey stated in 2008 when I met my future husband at a friends summer cook out. It was love at first sight....I know how cheesy that sounds. My husband is tall, handsome and really sweet (or so I thought). We got married in May 2009 and I found out his true colors shortly after. This is not a sob story so I will shorten this part - he was in an out of jail and I just couldn't handle it. We had our daughter June 2010 and now everyone, my family included judged me and said horrid things. I never set out to be a single mom but here I was...with no family here to assist. My whole world just seemed to fall apart. I started listening to 'WILL SMITH WISDOM' and other encouraging words. Looking back I don't know how I did it but between working full time and being a single mom, I completed my education and got a good job. I divorced by husband and ROC via a divorce waiver in April 2012. It took 23 months, 3 RFEs, 1 inforpass and 2 biometric appointments to approve my case but they did. That was April 2014.
I moved to Houston shortly after. I wanted to get a fresh start on life. I love America!!!! This is the only place I know that you do this! I bumped into this guy a good friend of mine tried to introduce me to several years before. At the time I met him, I was going through a tough times, including a divorce shortly after, the ROC process, I was juggling a single mom life, school and I had no place in my heart for a relationship. So I pretty much pushed him away but the poor guy pursued me for years, relentlessly. I finally decided to give him a chance and boy I should have done it sooner. He is an amazing man and he loves my daughter 100% It's almost as thought the universe repayed my patience. I am now engaged and the best part is this July 2015 I applied for N400 via a the 5 year rule. I interviewed Dec 2015, I got my oath letter 3 weeks after and now my oath ceremony is in less that 2 weeks.
I want to encourage everyone that has going through problems in your marriage and the immigration process. Hang in there. Do not give up. Stay away from trouble, pay your taxes and be a law abiding citizen. With time, your dreams will come true. Now the American dream is in my grasp. I am very excited to be completing this process but I never take for granted what it took or forget others who are still in the struggle.
Keep that head up and remember, the sun will always rise again.
Be blessed <3

We just returned from our interview and was approved. We were just ask the questions from the biographic information we filled out before. My husband who is the petitioner was asked how we met. I was there kicking him under the table and hoped he got the date right. He did.We took every shred of evidence and she didn't ask us for nothing.we were n there for approximately 30 minutes. As soon as we got out I received a bunch of emails and text messages that our cards were ordered and is in production.
Guys don't be nervous, be relaxed and try to strike up conversations with your interviewer. You'll be glad you did. I wish you all the best of luck
Thanks all for the support given me.
She told us our cards will be in the mail within 2 weeks.

Millz reacted to Jawaree in Decision cannot yet be made due to child support
They want to prove responsibility & bond to the child also that no child support is owed in
custodial parent mind or the courts, one payment really wont cut it, verifiable proof you
were a part of the childs life , a notorized statement from mom saying you owes nothing,
receipts you may have if you paid school fees, or for sport activities, pictures together
all this may help to prove nothing is owed , but a few payments way back ....

Millz reacted to kamw in Decision cannot yet be made due to child support
Bank should be able to print out something showing transactions based on how you were paying. It's it bank to bank transfer or if you were using checks it should be no issue as long as you still have the same account you had 5 years ago.
Have you asked if having the mother to write a notarized letter would be sufficient? Just something stated there was no formal child support but you have support the kids during the period in question?
Did Western Union say they would be able to send the logs to you? When I contacted them for the transaction log between hubby and I they said we had to have each MTCN number or the exact date of each transfer.
Good Luck.

Millz reacted to Eric-Pris in what can I do
He's completely insecure. He is afraid that if you are not totally dependent on him, or become more independent, you will see there's a better option out there and leave him. He's scared is what it comes down to.

Millz reacted to Honey&Bunny in How to get a supervisor on the at nvc!
Hello VJ friends, it has been a while since I've been on this site. Anyways, after 7 checklists, yes, 7 checklists, from NVC in regards the Affidavit of Support, and going 3 times to my local congressman's office (which by the way, didn't help anything) I took it upon on myself to put on the boxing gloves and deal with NVC. I spent 4 hours and finally got through, and talk to one of the many LAZY BUMS that work at NVC. I have called several times before and tried to talk to a supervisor, but there was never "one available at this time" for my luck. Anyways, this particular time I called, and I said that I was recording them for legal purposes (I WAS BLUFFING, LOL) and that I just needed them to know. I proceeded, and I explained the girl on the phone the reason why I was calling for, and since she couldn't help me, I demanded to talk to a supervisor. She put a SUPERVISOR ON!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT, BUT THERE I WAS, talking to a supervisor about my problem. That same day in the afternoon, I got a message that says, "ALL DOCUMENTATION NESSESARY TO COMPLETE THE NATIONAL VISA CENTER'S PROCESSING OF YOUR CASE HAS BEEN RECEIVED" I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS 8 MONTHS AGO! So people, now you know The national visa center, doesn't want the media to know how nasty they are to people, so the minute they know that they are being recorded, they want to help you. BTW, that was last week.... Good luck to you all..

Just got back from a Vegas trip and went right to my mailbox and totally surprise with two letter from USCIS.
They are actually my Welcome Notice and I-130 approval. I'm now Legal Permanent Resident. They are dated June 29 which was my interview day so I was approved on the spot even though the Interviewer didn't say so and USCIS website is still not updated.
Can't wait for the green card to come

Millz reacted to Jawaree in what can I do
OP pause...was he jealous B4 the marriage? ...maybe thought it was love & cute ..Nope
The child will not (*well is not suppose to get a JA PP without him) hew rules
To remove the child from the country would be a criminal act without his approval
I applaud the fact you want to keep him in the childs life.
Don't you have an older family member or Minister that can talk to him about his
jealousy and insecurities? after all you just had a baby, however ladies should
be beware of men who tries to separate them from families & friends ,and
insist on micr-management its not healthy., everyone needs some space
Can you still communicate with him on a reasonable level? Taking your docs away
is oppressive & illegal, if the day comes for interview & you are not there because he
cause you not to, I say report the matter to the police, so that record can be in your
favor, you obviously have a bonafied marriage...Pray .. Allow him to feel like the
man he should be but never allow him to abuse you any ways....wishing you the best.

Went to interview and got approved today. The officer is very nice and only asked us how long we know each other and verify our address and date of birth. Pretty painless.
Also some more questions from my form i485..Nothing too difficult. Good luck to everyone! Just be confident
