  2. Hey Guys!

Case got completed at NVC on June 30th. Got to know this today ! Jumping with happiness !!!!

However , the CEAC website throws a popup that the case is at NVC. No information on the 3 N/A s. Is this something to be concerned about ?

What could be the possible date of the interview ?

    PD:Sept 25 th 2014

    I-130 approved: Feb 4

AOS and DS-260 submitted: April 15

Checklist received from NVC: May 19

    NVC case complete: June 30

Congrats to you , those 3 N/A are normal and mean that you re done with the NVC

  3. Hi there,

I will apologise in advance if this is the wrong area to post this question. It seems like the right place, but this is literally my 1st post here.

I am a US citizen who is (I think) nearly through the process for my wife of 14 years who is Australian. We both live in Australia together and I've been trying to be the petitioner for her to immigrate to the US. We initially applied for the Preference Category: IR1 - SPOUSE OF UNITED STATES CITIZEN in July 2013, (receipt date by USCIS was 2 August 2013). We received the I-797 Notice of Action (is this the NOA-1 ?) in March 2014 with this approval notice. Naturally, we were quite excited, but then things moved to the NVC. After much difficulty and many submissions of information we finally received a letter from the NCV stating "We have finished reviewing your case. We will tell you when we set an interview date for your case. Please do not contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA about your interview until we give you the date." This was on April 1 of this year. Since then we've heard nothing from either the NVC or the Embassy.

I've tried looking through the VisaJourney information and I get the impression that our case has taken longer than the average times being recorded here. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on time frames between receiving information above and actually hearing when the interview is? I'm reluctant to contact NVC as they are, in my experience, at best not helpful but I'm not sure where to turn to see what the status of this is.

Should I reach out to NVC again or is this "normal"? Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance,

it really depends on the embassy , but the average time to schedule for the interview is between a month and two , and yes call the NVC as many times as you can and ask them about your schedule date , they might have it but not send the notification out yet.

  4. Anyone who are stuck on DS 260 to be filled....and shows at not started..received an update on Sunday but still unable to access!!

i got a check list for the same reason , and i was able to submit it on sunday , anyway call them and have them to look into the problem.

i have seen people just got their case number last month and were able to submit ds-260. keep calling them tell your issue is fixed

  5. ahaha you wont be cuz u werent stupid like me paying the fee twice just 2days before the system was fixed.. lol And I'm really hoping I'll get CC soon.. but again it's so unfair for us for getting a checklist for DS260 and POSSIBLY have to wait another 30days (even if I heard some ppl got CC in a week or so) while those who didn't get a checklist can just fly right through now that the system has been fixed.

I want to wait till I get CC atleast before I send an email asking for IV fee refund. Just to be safe lol

you were not stupid ,you were just trying to get this done and get together with your husband , i was going to do the same but i was just lucky , anyway i hope you get yours sooooon and then i would like to join you in your world :)

    good luck

  6. I got a checklist for DS260 (couldnt fill it out becasue of the website issues)

Do I have to do anything after I submitted the form?

no you dont as the ds-260 is not like other checklist ( missing doc , or making mistakes on them ) , its 30 days from the time you submitted and its already in there system . i have seen people got their CC in less than 2 weeks , hope this is the case for you

and by the way i dont want to be in your world any more :protest:

  7. Hi actually i have 11 months but let me be clear....

On august 7th 2014 my husband start the 1st petition (1-i30) which took 6 or 7 months to be approved

Then we received the letter with the steps to follow (Nvc) so my my husband paid the 1st fee (120 dollars) and filled the ds 261 (agent)and gattered all the documents required (marriage cer, police background....etc...)and he sent the docs on march 30 2015 and 2 weeks latter we received the nvc 60 days letter....then on may 8th we received a mail with gave us instrutions with the applications steps(which was not necsessry)since we already had sent the documentation however we still missing to pay the ds260 but as everybody we were unable so we waited some days to see if could pay the ds260 but since we could my hubby paid by mail i think that was the 3rd week of may and as u already known how long it took the system to update it as paid so basicly with all this delayed on august 7th i ll have 1 year but with the nvc i basicly have 5 months or 6 months on the 27 th

wow that sounds scary , im here almost a month and half and i could not wait anymore :) , im just waiting for my ds260 to be reviewed and get out of here , by the way it would be better to set up your timeline so everyone can see your process developments

  8. Thanks for ur replying thays wat i needed to know they say they take 30 days....however i have been told by people who went already through this it takes like 2 weeks to review the ds 260 and the appointment date depends on how full are the embassies im each country in my case im in colombia so i dont think is gonna take too long however if i have to wait 2 more months id really dont mind good luck for everyone

i hope it ll take only two weeks but it really depends on how many are in the queue , as you know there re alot of people who have the same case as you , so it might take more than two weeks but lets be optimistic

  9. Hi everybody !!!!!i d like to know...who of u guys had sent the documentation before? And when u sent it?.....

i just want to make sure in my personal case my hubby sent the doc in on march 30 and 2 weeks latter we received the famous nvc 60 days letter...so basicly i just want to make sure they will focus only on my ds260 taking into account all my documentation was already reviewed...thanks in advance for ur answers and commentts

i got a check list for missing a ds-260 on 27th of june and i was able to submit it yesterday , i called and was told no one will have any special treatments for his/her case , they have 30 days for reviewing the form

    good luck

  10. hey ! stop being naughty ! please to fill out that official VJ timeline, over at

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=210418

as to queues and duration in queues, sorry, it is what it is. having that checklist doesn't jump you around in the queues, the queues move irrespective of a checklist.

30 days to review? then it's still 30 days to review (minimum). Is it abysmal? Absolutely !

well i have heard people got their CC in less than a week , probably got lucky and they were not that much in the queue . Thanks for the info

by the way your profile picture is funny , it reminds me of one of my teacher'S face when i asked some weirdo question lol

  11. So desperate after hearing that mailing method takes 21days approximatey.

even it stated that but it usually takes less than two weeks , i mailed both fees and they put it into the system in less than a week

    Hello,

I'm facing a problem while paying AOS fee online. When I try signing in and enter my case number and invoice id, it gives this error. Sign In Failed

The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered do not match our records. Please try again or click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you have forgotten your Case Number or Invoice Identification Number.

I called customer care centre. They asked to mail the fees. It takes 21 days processing if I pay fees by mail.

What should I do now? Any suggestions?

  12. I hope that im wrong and misundersdanding this last update but to me it sounds that the system wont be fully operational , becasue why would they say this :

Applicants who have had difficulty accessing Form DS-261 Choice of Address and Agent and Form DS-260 Immigrant Visa Applicationonline, or paying their visa fees online should continue to monitor this website for updates and follow the instructions below. Again, we thank you for your continued patience and apologize to applicants who are experiencing delays.

NVC Database Temporarily Offline for Computer System Update

    7/2/2015

The Bureau of Consular Affairs is still resolving technical problems with some of our online immigrant visa forms. This issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category. As part of the solution to these systems issues, the National Visa Center (NVC) will temporarily take its immigrant visa database offline to allow our technical specialists to work on the system.

We will take our database offline at 3:30 pm on Thursday, July 2 through Sunday, July 5. Please note the NVC will be closed on Friday, July 3 for the Independence Day holiday.

What does this mean for immigrant visa applicants? Beginning at 3:30 pm on Thursday, July 2, NVC staff will be unable to access any case-specific information in the database. While our Public Inquiry phone line will still be operating, our Customer Service Representatives will be unable to provide callers with information specific to their case, such as whether we have received your case from USCIS, if we received mail from you, and your case status. We will be unable to make changes or updates to your case, such as a change of address.

We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause. However, the Department of State’s technical team is confident that this temporary inconvenience is a necessary step toward restoring full functionality to our systems. We expect the NVC’s immigrant visa database to again be operational on Monday, July 6 and our Customer Service Representatives will be able to fully answer public inquiries then.

  14. Hopefully it will be fixed next week. but I doubt it, its 4th of July weekend and I don't think they would be working. :(

they re most likely be working on it as they already shut down the NVC database which mean to me that they ll reconnect it to DOS database and updated with the currents data. it might not be fixed by Monday but im hoping will be by the end of the week

  15. LOL

I was able to pay online around middle of June

Good luck guys! hope this nightmare will be over soonnn!!!

you paid it twice and when did you pay it online ? once you paid it , how long it took to unlock the DS-260

    Thanks

not yet, i am trying to stay off their radar. i didn't call them the entire week. i am hoping they hold their promise of fixing things early next week and i somehow get lucky by them ignoring me few more days and not CL me. and i can do away with Supervisor review too. well if that happens i will definitely buy a lotto ticket as well.

    thanks passionfruit

lol ,promise to share with us if you win the lotto
