  1. Congrats to both of you and really happy for you guys. If you can please share your interview experience with us! Thank you.

    Thank you, don123!

I've shared my interview experience on Embassy review and February IR1/CR1 2015 topic (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/535973-february-2015-ir-1-cr-1-filers/page-135). :)

Hi vj's Visa approved at Nairobi embassy. Thanx every single member on vj for all the advise , interview was smooth no issues.

Waiting to pick up passport end of this week from DHL

Congrats Isaac#! Same day of approval :)

  2. Thank you everyone!

I arrived at USEM at 12:20 and my appointment was at 12:30. When I got in I had to give some additional documents that embassy had asked to Indonesian lady at counter no 7. I waited for 1.5 hours till I finally got called into a small room with a window as separator between me and the officer. CO was beautiful white lady and she was so nice. Did my fingerprint and oath.

The interview itself was pretty fast and went for about 12-15 mins. I couldn't tell precisely cause I was so nervous and did not even take not on what time I got called. Some questions she asked were:

    1. Who petitioned for you?

    2. Where did you meet your husband?

    3. How long have you been married?

    4. How long have you been in a relationship before the wedding?

    5. Where did you guys get married?

    6. Was it a big wedding or at a court?

    7. Where does he live now?

    8. Are you going to live at same place or move?

    9. What is your husband's job?

    10. What does the company mainly do?

    11. When did he start this new job? (He started 2 weeks ago so I had to give CO new AOS docs with the new offer letter that stating his new salary)

    12. Have you met his family? Has he met your family?

    13. Has he visited you?

Then next questions were about me since I was an international student before.

    1. Where did you go to school?

    2. Did you finish your school?

    3. Did you do any internship/job after you graduated? Where?

    4. Have you ever overstayed your tourist visa?

    5. What is your current job?

    6. Have you ever been arrested by police or immigrant officer?

    7. When will you fly back to America?

Those were the questions she asked. I have memorized mostly about my husband and his family but then she also asked a lot of questions about me haha. After that she said, "Congratulations, your visa has been approved! Welcome!" and I said thank you. Before I left she said "Have a safe travel!" I replied "Thank you and have a good day!"

So happy and so relieved. Thank you Jesus for this smooth interview.

Hope I'm able to help you through this review :content:

  4. Just a few more days and its your interview, I'm just so happy for you. We have both come a long way, being separated from our spouses has been the hardest, for me, probably the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with, tested me in so many ways, but our love has triumphed..

You and I have been there for each other through this entire process, so Tuesday is a big day for you, going to get your visa approved and get back to your love ASAP.

Let us know when you are done and share your experience.....can't wait to hear about it.

Thank you, mbalih! Big amen to visa approval!

I am super nervous and keep checking all the documents needed everyday. I can't even focus on my job nowadays haha...

I am so grateful to be part of such a lovely group of supporters. I pray everyone who has interview date already will all be approved, and those who are still at NVC will get their CC and interview date soon.

I will share my experience right away on Tuesday night. :)

  5. I was of the understanding a person can schedule their medical appointment without proof of an interview, but that they must bring their interview letter to the appointment, and if they don't. they are turned away.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it depends on the country. I didn't have to bring my interview letter when I did my medical (Jakarta, Indonesia). The hospital just wanted me to write down my case number, passport number, etc, in the form.

  6. Yes my husband sent out both packages together on September 30th. I called them on the 7th to see if they had receive our package and they said that they didn't and saw nothing in the system and that they would email my husband with updates.

Try to call them again and ask. Please don't depend on updates from email cause sometimes you won't receive any email from NVC. They were really slow with e-mail in my case. No kidding!

  7. Praise God!!!

He has been great throughout this visa journey. My wife was approved for immigrant visa today, while I waited outside the consulate in Mumbai. The consulate experience lasted less than one hour! It will be a few days for the visa to arrive at pickup location.

I hope that all of us Feb filers will be granted the mercy that God has bestowed upon us.

    Praise the Lord!

So happy for you, jayisis! Finally another February filers with visa approval. :)

Did the CO ask your wife lot of questions?

    Amen to your prayer!

  8. Hi Guys, just got off the phone with NVC and they have scheduled our interview for November 4th!!! I still havent gotten the email regarding our interview and the guy at NVC was surprised we didnt get an email yet so he said to wait til wednesday next week and if we still dont get it to call back. One question i had - they asked for my 2014 W2, does anyone know if it is OK to bring one i can get from my work's online payroll portal or maybe ask my employer for 2014 W2 or does it have to be the one they gave me specifically when i filed my taxes? If so i need to look for it again...

Wow, congratulations! Just a week after me. Better schedule medical soon. :) Best of luck!

  9. Yes you are correct. Where do I go for the correct affidavit of support form? Should it have a barcode accross the bottom?

Are you doing a joint sponsor or spouse is the only sponsor?

    This is I-864 http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864.pdf.

If your spouse is the only sponsor, using his/her own income, and he/she only sponsors you then you can just use I-864 ez http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864ez.pdf.
