  1. Tiko I would suggest asking this question over at the NVC thread....they will have more people in this same stage that can hopefully help.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/534417-nvc-filers-february-2015/

You can also call NVC and ask that once the AOS fee is invoiced do you have a certain time frame that it needs to be paid within? I have seen a lot of timelines on here where it seems people take their time because of personal circumstances (kids school year etc) so I'm sure you will be fine! Good luck.

  2. Now at 73 days. Still patient, but getting anxious. It's amazing that two words can change so much in terms of major decisions that need to be made.

I admire your patience. May it pay off today for you and you hear "CASE COMPLETE"!!!

So i called last night and i got a checklist.... Because the birth certificate & marriage certificate i sent were not the correct type & i have to resend the correct ones.... Thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard, now i have to wait 60 &$$%#% days more... :(

    Scan date 12/18

So sorry about your checklist. Another 60 days will be grueling but I hope and pray this chapter will then be closing. Keep your head up! We are here for you.

  3. Quick question: With just receiving an email from nvc for my case #, there's a checklist document that comes with it. Do we check that off and put on top of the aos bar coded cover sheet? Thanks

I included both the checklist document that came in the welcome letter e-mail AND the AOS bar coded cover sheet with my packages.

I think either works because the bar code just identifies your case # to NVC when they input and scan your package. I just wanted to be on the safe side so I included both.

  4. I hope I am not speaking prematurely, as the AOS fee still shows paid, but I spoke with Natalie from the NVC a couple of hours ago and she confirmed that our case was complete today. I am currently on hold with the NVC to confirm again, because I just cannot believe it. Original scan date 12/17. :D

So happy for you Maharosa. I hope you celebrate and enjoy each moment until the interview gets scheduled! Congrats.

PS- this only confirms to me that the NVC phone reps know NOTHING about when your case is being reviewed until it is finished being reviewed. (Since they kept telling you next week, next week, then boom, CC!)

  5. Spoke with an agent at NVC tonight. Our scan date is Dec. 10 and we haven't heard anything. I think we are 67 or 68 days out now. The agent told me that the case still has not been reviewed, but it's currently taking about 67 days. I'm OK with that - it will happen when it happens... and they won't make us wait forever! No news is better than bad news.. that's what I'm telling myself.

Hang in there! Best wishes for NO checklists. CC!!!! Hopefully today.

  6. Hi all,

this may be a stupid question but we filed our IV and AoS forms this week via electronic processing. The NVC finally allowed me to give them my email (they would not take it for weeks after receiving the file). Will they email anything to indicate the paperwork has been received. The lady on the phone today told me that we will not receive anything and she didn't know if our paperwork has been entered into the system? Is that possible? Should I call again? She said that nothing will show up in her system until our case has been reviewed in 60 days. but I see you guys having "scan dates" so… argh. I THINK I know how this works and then I talk to the NVC and I get confused again.

3-5 days is normal for those of us that mail in packages via snail mail. Then we get an e-mail stating the date NVC has received the package.

The electronic proccessing group has been reporting a lot longer wait to get any type of e-mail confirmation from NVC. A couple weeks I believe. I would wait until next week before you call again because the reps will give you the same script.

  7. Take a look at their timeline though (pasted below). The SCAN DATE is Dec 12th so don't lose hope you guys. That is the date NVC goes by, not the Dec 30th. There is hope and you are all are up!!! CC's soon!!!!!

Sept. 17, 2014: Received NOA 2. Case APPROVED with no RFEs

Oct. 17, 2014: Case # Assigned by NVC (Same day case was received, according to Julian # calculation)

Oct. 21, 2014: Received letter from NVC

Oct. 22, 2014: DS-261 completed and submitted to NVC

Oct. 31, 2014: Paid AOS invoice

Dec 08, 2014: Sent in IV & AoS packages

Dec 11, 2014: Package received by NVC

Dec 12, 2014: Recieved email from NVC acknowledging receipt. I assume this is our scan date

Dec 25, 2014: Paid IV bill

Dec 29, 2014: Funds deducted from bank account. DS-260 became available, and was completed

    Dec 30, 2014: Submitted DS-260

Feb. 12, 2015: Case Complete with NO checklist! whoot, whoot!

  8. I got an email (pasted below) from the NVC today and don't understand what it means. Has anyone else gotten this email? Does it mean I'm close to a Case Complete? We've been at the NVC since August and did a checklist in November. On the CEAC website, my AOS fields are both N/A. My husband's IV Fee field shows PAID, IV Application shows Complete, Civil Documents shows N/A. Any advice greatly appreciated. Don't want to get my hopes up if this is just a pointless email. Thanks!

    Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified. The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa. The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

    Sincerely,

    Director National Visa Center

Not that you are close but that you have a case complete. Congrats! :dancing::dance:

  9. It does. I've heard a few different versions from call centre agents now. Either way, get what you can done, and push for what isn't getting done!

I had my DS261 completed and paid my AOS the day I had my case number, but due to a "glitch", the DS261 changed to incomplete a few weeks out with my AOS still showing as paid. If the DS 261 isn't showing complete, it won't release your IV fee, which holds up your DS260 and (by their book) when you can send in your AOS and IV package(s). I lost weeks due to their "glitch". Finally, someone was helpful enough to manually release my IV fee!

    Wow I'm so sorry.

I agree that different agents will tell you different things. I was lucky enough to find a nice rep to review my DS-261 finally. I tried 3 times previously and all of them said there was nothing they could do. Hopefully I'll see my IV invoiced shortly now and will finish the DS-260 asap. I specifically asked Ann (the agent i reached today) and she said the 60 days begins when the packages are both physically scanned in at the center. But who knows! At least something is moving in the right direction for us.

  10. just got our case and iin #'s.

nvc isn't that busy today....3 tries and I got a line, and only 17 minutes on hold.

whipppeeee let's get this baby happening!!!!

humm, now I'm rethinking this....the lady would not take our email addresses..... :(

should I be calling back with hopes the next person will?

I think the first couple of days after it is assigned the reps are frozen out of editing your case. That's what I was told so I don't think calling again will help. We still received the e-mails and then the next time we called they always confirm the e-mail addresses they have on file.

After spending yesterday on the one waiting for NVC only to find out the phone system is on and no one is there, I called again this morning. I talked to a human and she stated that my case has not been touched yet, but they are currently processing Dec. 10th scan dates or the DS260 date (whichever is last). Was unable to tell me how many days from the 60 that they were behind due to the snow. I shall call again tomorrow!

On a side note, it makes me feel better to know that it might not be a checklist, it just hasn't been processed... trying not to lose hope, but my mind can quickly go crazy thinking of scenarios, none of them being good!

In one of the other threads this was posted. It's interesting that the rep said "Dec 10th scan dates or the DS260 date (whichever is last)" because that basically goes against the theory of sending your packages in before the IV is invoiced because it will make no time difference in processing/wait time. Has anyone heard of this?? Kind of discouraging as I thought I had already started the clock for my 60 days.

Hmmm...I'm going to call them again and try to get my DS-261 reviewed thus IV bill invoiced.

  13. They wouldn't be quicker because operators don't review documents. Just maybe they would be "quicker" if they wouldn't ask that checklist has to be send back to NVC.

    January 22nd scan date

True but that's why I'm confused about when people say they call in to get their IV bill invoiced and the rep on the phone reviews their DS-261 choice of agent. Do they just simply click a button and say they looked at it? If it's so easy I just don't understand why it takes up to 42 days normally. The whole system really just baffles my mind and I know I shouldn't analyze every inefficiency but I guess it helps pass the time

  14. 19. Federal income tax information.

[ ](Optional) I have attached photocopies or transcripts of my Federal tax returns for my second and third most recent tax years.

    ------

    I have a 2014 Tax Transcript and a 2013 Tax Transcript.

In 2012 I did not work. I requested a transcript anyway for 2012 and received a letter, with IRS letterhead, stating they "have no record of a filed form... can consider this letter a verification of non-filing".

Question is: Can I check the optional box and attack my 2013 Tax Transcript and 2012 Verification of non-file and attached them. Even though technically the 2012 one isn't a true transcript.

I know I am over thinking this I am sure, but I am afraid of checklists.

I think that would be fine but I'd also include a letter explaining why you did not file taxes in 2012 (below the income threshold).
