  1. Kels2487, sometimes it helps to call multiple times because some officers are actualy nice and they explain the process and the reasons. Some others do not explain anything and talk about 45 days to review the email or 60 days to review the documents.

Unfortunately I haven't had any luck with that and have called almost every day for the past 2 weeks. After I hit 60 days the speech changed from "it takes 60 days to review" to "it takes AT LEAST 60 days to review". I really don't think the reps have much information to share unless it is currently under review which pops up on their monitors.

So I don't blame them at all but I guess my concern now is that my file is lost somewhere, so I'm thinking maybe the congressman approaching them will at least force them to locate the file and bring to their attention I'm on day #67. Who knows! But calling the reps certainly isn't getting me anywhere. The lady I spoke with today even said "I don't know what date they are processing. They don't give us that info."

  2. Tried this too.

06.03.15 NVC: received my civil documents (DHL tracking)

10.03.15 NVC: confirmed the reception and scan date

11.03.15 me: completed my medical exam and mailed it to the Consulate (DHL)

11.03.15 me: called the congressman office

16.03.15 congressman office: e-mailed an expedite request to NVC

20.03.15 NVC: forwarded the expedite request to the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt, Germany

30.03.15 Consulate: confirmed the reception of my medical exam

30.03.15 Consulate: emailed me that they are wiaitng for the case from NVC

16.03.15 NVC: old me on the phone that they are waiting for the Consulate to request the case files

I didn't request an expedite, I am just asking the senator to assist me in inquiring about the status of my case. I believe they are able to speak with supervisor's and get more information than the "it takes 60 day speech" the phone reps give me. Senators can step in once outside the normal processing times.

  3. I will make you a deal...help me edit this spreadsheet and we can add the field. We need volunteers that will edit as little as once per day (1min). Once I am done with the NVC I don't know how active (or even if active) I will be with these forums.

    LONG VERSION *****

    So here are the issues:

This spreadsheet assumes that the NVC is treating all scan dates (SD) in the same manner in order to increase efficiency; so far this has been true. Unfortunately, once review times come down closer to the four (4) week mark you will quickly see a discrepancy between reviews relating from new documents, checklists, countries/regions, etc. So what's the solution? Basically the only true method is going to be the spreadsheet that saylin runs which is detailed in ALL aspects / all dates (case#, AOS generation, IV invoice paid, etc).

Also have you noticed how this spreadsheet is creating more chaos than happiness? I don't like that people are feeling skipped on;the letter does state AT LEAST 60 days.

I agree that we can't always compare our cases to one another for a number of factors.

Just wanted to point out that their website still states- "Please allow 60 days for the NVC to review your forms and documents."

    http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

My state senator told me to reach out to them if at any point my case went over the suggested time period listed on their website. So today I went ahead and sent an e-mail and will try to follow up with their office on Monday. Your spreadsheet doesn't cause me unhappiness, I just told myself I wouldn't take any kind of action until I reached over 60 days.

  4. Hello all, sorry I've been away for a day or so. I've been arranging my medical examination etc. I have a lot of planning to do!

Although I'm happy that our case is now complete, I am becoming increasingly concerned to see that some user's cases continue to be overlooked. I think as a group we need to do something in order to have this issue resolved for these users and make the process fair for everyone.

I have written a draft letter below to be sent to state reps for those still awaiting case completes with earlier scan dates. If users with later scan dates and case completes are willing to share their case numbers with those still outstanding, we will be able to prove that some applicants are not being treated in the same manner as others.

If you are interested in using the letter - PLEASE QUOTE THIS POST.

If you have a case complete and want to help - PLEASE PM THOSE THAT WANT TO USE THE LETTER WITH YOUR CASE NUMBER ONLY. By only using the case number, you share no personal or private information.

    It may or may not help you, but I figure it's worth a shot, and it might even effect some change with how they're processing applicants unfairly at the moment. Here's the letter - good luck to you all;

To the Right Honorable [insert state representative's name here],

My name is [insert name here]. I am currently assisting my spouse, [insert beneficiary's name here] in applying for an immigrant visa for the United States so that we may live together. Our case is currently under review at the National Visa Center, New Hampshire. Our case number is [insert case number here]

    We have cause for concern in relation to the review of our submitted documents as we feel we are not being treated in the same expedient manner that has been extended to other applicants. We submitted our documents for review on [insert date here], yet we are aware of numerous other cases that have been reviewed and approved despite having sent in their documents at a later date. We have reached out to these applicants via an online forum who have given their respective permission to share their case numbers with us in order to support our concerns. These are;

We have contacted the National Visa Center in relation to this issue who have confirmed that they process their workload on a first-in, first out basis. When we have asked why this principle has not been applied to our case, or suggested that our case may have been overlooked, we have either not been offered an adequate explanation, or have been told that those that have submitted documents at a later date than us are lying. We have also not been given a definite timescale as to when this will be resolved.

My spouse and I would greatly appreciate if you could inquire on the current status of our case on our behalf, and seek an explanation as to why our case has not been reviewed in an expedient, fair manner.

    Sincerely, your constituent,

    [insert name here]

    [insert address here]

    [insert contact details here]

Wow. Cannot say thank you enough for this act of kindness. I was going to start drafting this weekend because unfortunately I think it's time to get my state representatives involved. If anyone would be willing to share their case numbers with me I would be more than grateful. Thanks in advance :)

  5. Congrats to everyone who's getting cc and sorry to all those who got a check list. It is very unfair for us, January filers, that we are just sitting there and waiting while others who filed like 30 and even 40 days later are still waiting. I am not jealous or something but I feel really bad that NVC is full of c r a p

I called last night and got a pretty nice rep, can't remember his name. I asked if he could tell me what dates they are working on or when I should expect to hear back and he said next week.

I asked if they process first in first out and he said yes. I asked why there are people a month after my scan date getting reviewed and he said "it is hard to compare cases like that". While the answer didn't bring much clarity I appreciated that he didn't lie or call all the VJ-ers liars haha.

Nothing to do but continue and wait....good luck young_love_WA!

  6. My mom's case scan date 22 Jan , and still no answer

My dad with the same date 22 Jan , case compete.

Why they need so much time for my mom case?

I see that people received CC with scan date from Feb, why my mom case is so late?

Help, I am feeling so worried

    Thanks

There is no rhyme or reason how the NVC is reviewing cases. My best guess- Your parent's cases must have been separated during the "sorting" of incoming mail and your mom's case is somewhere else in the review pile.

Don't panic. There are others with that scan date that have yet to be reviewed. There is a large discrepancy in dates that they are currently reviewing so my best advice is to just call the NVC and not necessarily compare to other's scan dates. Hope it is resolved ASAP!! :-)

  7. I was just thinking to start a "left behind" thread when I saw this. It's just becoming too painful to watch more & more cases being reviewed & closed far beyond our scan dates. I'm Feb 6th so technically not beyond the 60 days but at this point I know I've been passed over and have no explanation why. I filed paper so it can't be the hold up of ep filing issues. I just don't want to be bitter to anyone in their time of joy so it's best if I avoid some of the other threads for a while. I am truly happy for them but it's just too painful to watch.

Yeah I agree. Now that interviews have started up for May I feel a bit of the panic. I try to relax and realize its completely out of my control but it does make you wonder.

We filled out form 864EZ , no joint sponsors, nothing funny in our case, straightforward as they come, husband isn't from high risk country. At this point I don't want to wait 60+ days to find out it's a checklist. It is just truly mind boggling. All I can do is hope for the best.

  8. Scan date January 5th 2015, after waiting more than 80 days, i called NVC today and the rude representative told me i will receive a checklist but whats the checklist they don't have any information on that yet!:cry::cry:

Don't have any idea how long they gonna take to just issue that checklist now! And then another 60 days wait ! OMG i cant take it :crying::crying::crying:

Took forever in my case for everything!! 40+ days to issue me a case number at NVC, 80+ days to review AOS and don't know how many days for the checklist now!

SO SORRY. Seems so unfair and my heart goes out to you.

  9. Hi Guys,

My visa type is (CR1 US Spouse) I am starting this topic because its been 62 days since NVC received my documents(Both Sponsor and IV Package).....My scan date was 22 january 2015, so whenever i ask them by calling,An agent says ur case isn't reviewed yet...i asked tell me did it even start reviewing...he said not...ur case is just in line waiting for its turn....I don't know Why NVC is delaying cases these days....if anyone is in same situation then add a reply...it will be appreciated...!!!

I'm in the same boat. Scan date is Jan 23rd. They don't give any information besides it is taking AT LEAST 60 days. I am hoping by tomorrow i'll hear something or else I may consider asking to speak with a supervisor because the phone reps really have no information on our cases.

    Trying to stay patient!

  10. Congrats to all my scan date buddies who are getting CCs today! I echo the sentiment that although I was (and still am) over the moon about my CC yesterday my heart goes out to those of you who seem to have been "skipped over" or how ever we want to explain it. However much or little it helps, we're thinking of you.

And we thank you for that :-) I am so happy for everyone moving on in the process. There is no way that I could be so bitter about the NVC's mess ups that I would not celebrate everyone's advancement!

  11. Hi guys really worried here , scan date January 5th and no news from NVC yet???

Have you called them? I'd demand to talk to a supervisor.

I just got done speaking to a representative "nvc" she was very kind and sweet!!!!! First time ever!!!!! I told her my case has been there since 1-14-2015 and I haven't received anything yet. She said yeah we apologize our system was down for quite while for electronic processing, we apologize for that. She took both information on both of my cases, and wrote a note for the supervisor to look at it since its not been reviewed yet, she also said to call back in a week or two for an update. So here we go another 2 more weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Does Jordan do electronic submission?

  12. Just as an update, we have made call to NVC yesterday, a rep. (polite lady!) informed me there is problem in AOS, but they have not had time to send email yet! So you will receive check list. No email shows up until now. Scan date was 01-20-2015.

Now We are waiting to see the item(s) in the check list.

Sorry about the bad news :( But thank you for the update. Hope you get it resolved ASAP! Good luck!
