London has approved many K1 cases without a tax return or transcript.
It is an easy document to get and use as proof. It is easier than bothering the boss for a letter. But they will NOT turn you away for not having a tax return as long as you can prove income.
Bank statements showing salary deposits are weak. That doesn't even show your gross income before taxes were withheld. Pay stubs a are a better choice of the two.
London will not approve a CR1 spouse visa without a tax transcript (or signed statement why sponsor was not required to file taxes) because that is written into the very detailed law about the I-864 Affidavit of Support documentation.

On Sunday it is exactly 6 months since we got our NOA1. I have seriously started to hate weekends just because I know I won't hear any news. Feeling very negative tonight.

I'd really like to be happy for them, but honestly, I don't feel bad about wanting to be happy for myself either.
This is an emotionally exhausting process and my only consolation is that I will not have to go through it again. :/

Thanks for this! Do you know what your senator/congressman did? We spoke to ours a few times over the past month and they say they cant really do anything despite my insistence that we have read stories on here that they can.
Late July filer too - hope the process is going faster for you now! :-)

Hang in there! Once you get past USCIS, things with the state department move very quickly! We waited 6 months for NOA2 (which sucked seeing all the CSC filers get their stuff in a fraction of the time). Get all your stuff for the visa application ready - research the medical, research your local embassy/consulate, and get everything else ready! We had everything ready and were able to get visa in hand within a few weeks of NOA2.
Although it was only last summer that we were dealing with this malarkey, once you get your honey here it all seems to not matter (seriously - POE was 2 months ago, we've been married 6 weeks, and the waiting part feels like it was AGES ago).
    Cheering for y'all!

Jay&M got a reaction from Megan & Luke in Pennsylvania Congressman/Senator
Hello - We are also a PA/UK applicant and have the same attitude. We are approaching the 4 month mark and fed up of waiting so decided to contact PA's congressman/senators to see if they could do anything to help and draw attention to the vast difference between the 2 service centres. And if it doesn't work that at least you have tried.
I read a lot about senators/congressmen in other states not being helpful but that is the complete opposite to PA's. We contacted Robert Casey Jr. and Patrick Toomey and their representatives were extremely polite and helpful and said they will do all they can to help us get a sooner approval. However the most helpful has been congressman Glenn Thompson who has been pushing the hardest for us - so I would highly recommend dropping his office an email also. They all replied within 1 day of us contacting them so they are quite efficient.
I wish you luck ... its worth a try and better than sitting idle!

A bit of a random post here but bear with me...
I came to the US on a K1 in July and i'm living blissfully happy with my wife here in California. This website helped me the whole way through the grueling process - I certainly could not have done it without all the support and advice this brilliant resource provides. US immigration can be unbearably drawn out and I remember toiling through days and weeks on my own wondering if it was ever going to end. It's a huge mountain of confusing paperwork and documentation and reference numbers and all kinds of strict administrative processes. It can also leach plenty of hard earned money out of your pocket, with no recourse to getting it back if it all falls through. Oh and on top of that I had further stress from minor historic offenses which could've cost me everything.
Its clearly long winded, hard work, and expensive. They don't make it easy.
So now I'm reflecting on this struggle, nine months after starting it all, from the privileged position of having successfully completed much of it. I'm living with my wonderful wife, I have permission to work, social security sorted and driver license on the way, and hopefully green card delivered in the not too distant future. I came from a position of disadvantage, I fought against it, I read hard and took advice, and I came through it.
This morning I updated my timeline and it felt great to be looking at all those blue boxes with green ticks. There's still plenty to do, I know, but I feel like a hill has been climbed and that feels good.
On the rare occasions I check back here at visajourney, I feel great sympathy for all the honest, well-meaning folks who are despairing at their current K1 circumstances. Its important to stay focused, keep your convictions, be honest, take advice from people who know better and be humble with Uncle Sam's way of doing things. I just want to let those people know that time falls away, things will move for you, and I wish you all the best in your struggle to get wherever you're going.
Keep the love and nothing can separate you from the person you've chosen to be with!
    Peace,
    D

We are currently in the process of drafting an email and sending it to every Pennsylvania senator, congressman, government official we can find to:
    1) Try and push our petition through
    2) Make them aware of the ridiculous situation that is occurring with TSC
It may be a long shot and it might come to nothing ... But its better than doing nothing and fills this horrible waiting time.
If lots of other people did the same for their states then you never know the outcome.
    Worth a shot right?

The USCIS processing time report is dated August 31st, so even although it was recently updated, it still does not reflect where they are with processing petitions. Add to that the transfers, throwing another curve ball at our ability to hazard any kind of educated guess, and the bottom line is that we are all in the dark. There is not a single, even vaguely up to date, schedule of times to refer to. If they don't have sufficient staff to deal with the volume of petitions, then the fees need to be increased across the board and more staff employed and trained to handle the workload. While nobody wants to have to pay more, waiting in limbo is costing many of us more than any fee increase would.
