    Hi all,
I haven't been on here in a while but this site really helped us a lot throughout the process so I wanted to share our interview experience. We had our initial interview rescheduled back in July and had been waiting for a new date. Turns out they had moved our file to another office (St Louis). I guess they didn't get the memo that we had moved before sending out the first interview notice even though we changed the address months before. Anyways, we just had our interview yesterday and we were approved right after
We got there around 11 for our 11:30am appointment. We were called in around 11:35 and done just before noon. Pretty quick! The officer told us she was going to go over the I-485 with me first and then the I-130 with my husband. I was so nervous but the officer was friendly--direct and serious but nice. I messed up immediately by stating my maiden name instead of my married one as it is on the app! (haven't changed it yet) oops.. She questioned me about it and I just explained I hadn't changed it yet but was planning to and that's why we filled out the application with that name. From there she just checked off the questions on the forms and made sure the answers matched. She also changed our address on the form.
She asked us how we met and I told her about how we met in college, my husband filled in as well with some other details. She asked something about us being away from each other but I can't remember the question exactly and I think I misinterpreted it but oh well. She asked if we had any family in this area, when I moved here etc. My husband talked a little bit about his school and future job and our move to Indiana when he's done. She asked what I want to do (career wise). She asked what our parents thought about us eloping and my husband said that they were supportive because we are still doing a wedding ceremony in Sweden next year. She asked if we had anything else we'd like to share with her and I went through my binder as I told her about our joint bank account and phone bill (we didn't have a lot of proof) but she didn't even want to look at it, just copied our marriage license. She asked about insurance (health and car) and my husband explained how my insurance plan was a lot better than his but I wasn't able to add him to mine since it's continuation coverage after terminating my employment at my previous university and how he just lost his coverage under his parents as he turned 26 in September and as a student only have temporary coverage that isn't very good. She asked if my name was on the lease but I said it wasn't. Basically, she seemed to want more proof. However, she said it is understandable that we didn't have a lot of stuff right now at the beginning and immediately went on to talk about the conditional green card and what we needed to do 90 days before the 2 years are up. She told us to hold on to everything we accumulate until then to send in as evidence for ROC. At this point it was pretty clear she was going to approve us but she just told us that was all and that she'd look over our file and send us a letter if she needed anything else. Oh, and she didn't ask for pictures and I forgot to show them so she never even looked at those.
An hour later my case status was updated to card production and later that evening the I-130 was approved
Now I can finally relax for a while!
    Happy Thanksgiving!

I would change it using the website tool AND call to make sure they get the memo.
I've read other people who changes address and the interview just gets transfered to the new state they live. Since you don't have interview date yet they will just give it to you in the closest local office.
If you know the address I personally would change it as soon as possible to make sure the EAD goes to the right place

    Thank you everyone!
I cannot believe it is over. Just need to have it in hand and then the world will feel right again. Crazy how this process totally takes over our lives.
The appointment was at 9:15 and I woke up around 6:00 and went over everything again. I had an entire binder zipped full of information/evidence/copies of everything.
We arrived at 8:55 and were seated in the waiting area by 9. I was so tense for no reason, it was actually nice having the baby there as he seemed to lighten the mood for everyone in the waiting room!
We were called in at 9:30 by one officer, and walked back and there were two officers in there, one observed. They were both very nice. My husband held the baby and I dealt with our evidence. They swore us in and then asked to see my passport, my sons original birth certificate. They went over the basic information such as where we were born and our names etc. They then asked if I had any additional information, but that it wasn't really needed as the package was complete. She took a recent paystub of my husbands and saw we were over the necessary income for a family of three and photocopied it.
She asked how long we had known eachother, how long we had been dating before we got married (6 years), and whether I intended to stay when I came into the USA last (I did not). She then told us we were approved! I said "They make this sound way scarier on the internet!" they both smiled and said we had good proof, and obviously our 3 month old was there too lol.
I am still waiting for a text or email update about I-130 and I-485 forms but maybe they do not do that! Anyways I am very happy and relieved that it is over, at least for now

Ok so, we left home at about 11:50 pm and got half way there when I realized ( or thought so ) that I didn't have my husband's recent pay stubs in the big evidence folder.. so we turn back and I go looking for it in the house and realize it's not there- turns out It was actually in the evidence folder all this time, I just missed it under a stack of papers ( Nerves were apparently making me delusional ) By this time it's about 12:10 and we should have been there by 12:15 ( LOL ) so my husband was pretty much racing there.. We got there at exactly 12:25 and rushed inside where we sat in the waiting room till about 12:50 when a short asian man with the heaviest accent came and called our names. We were sworn in once we got to his office and he started asking me my Name, DOB, Address & he also gave me a notepad and told me to write my address down.( I kept having to ask him to repeat himself cause his accent was SO thick! ) Then he started talking to my husband and asked him the same Name & DOB questions, He also asked for his passport and all ID's as well as how & when we met.. He started telling him one version of how we met & I interrupted and said " Nooo, You have to tell the FULL story!! " Lol, all three of us started laughing & he told my husband to proceed.. So he tells him the story of how we met .. Then he asks me if I have any brothers or sisters here in the US, I told him I have a brother in another state and another out of the country.. He also asked about my mother and father. Then he asked why my brother never filed for me, I told him that was just never discussed. He asked about my SSN next, wanted to know how come I had one and I told him I had an EAD previously and he asked if that was the same number i've been using since i've been living in the states to which I responded yes. I had overstayed after one of my parents petitions were denied for me, and he asked why I never left after that, I told him it wasn't an option for me. He tried to pick around a bit asking how do I know you're not just trying to get a green card ? I said you don't know that, and that's why i'm here.. He started asking me the same question several times in several different ways and asking if I knew that was illegal and against the law and blah blah, I responded " Yes, and I also understand that such transgressions are forgiven for USC spouses " .. he dropped the subject after that and went on to ask for what we brought.. I gave him pictures, joint account statements, hotel keys & booking printouts from various trips, all birthday cards from my husband I got from past birthdays and today, proof of joint ownership of a car and i had a whole stack of records showing our text messages dating back a year. Of everything I provided he only glanced at the pictures then gave them back to me, he asked how come we didnt have that many pictures of us with other people ( we did, he just didn't look ) so I pointed out the ones I sent with my application along with some more I had brought. He looked at a few this time and stopped to ask about a picture of us with my husbands newborn niece to ask who it was.. He then asked if I know his mom, dad, and sisters to which I replied yes. He looked at the Car title and asked what kinda car it was and my husband told him. He also asked if we had any affidavits from friends or family to which I replied no ( Apparently these are very important, so take heed guys! Lol ) ..He also asked for my husband's tax returns to which I told him they were in the file and he looked through and said okay.. He skimmed through everything else and gave most of it back and said I could keep everything else.. He didnt even look at my text message records .. He stamped two sheets of paper in front of him and started typing on his computer and asked who helped me with my paperwork, my husband replied and told him I did it all myself and he said it was very well put together but I would need to gather more evidence and affidavits for ROC .. He printed two sheets of paper which were approval letters and told us to read and sign and started to talk about ROC and citizenship. After I felt it was safe and I was approved, I asked him if I could get a stamp and he said NO! Buttt..I wasnt taking no for an answer lool.. I just started to kindly explain what happened to my EAD & told him that my employer has been waiting for my documents since october.. He asked who is the employer.. I told him and we started talking about the company a bit.. then he said ok fine i'll give you the stamp, but it's not gonna have the seal on it , he said to show that and my approval letter to them and if they don't take it I should come back for the stamp with the seal but that my card will be coming soon anyways ( apparently the stamp is just for people who need to travel & That's why he didn't wanna give it to me? ) .. he stamped it in my passport and wrote the date on it and it says something like temporary i-551 stamp serves as green card for 1 year and " Employment Authorized " below it ... He told us we would receive the card soon and walked us out and then me and hubby went to lunch after that, so quite an eventful day

Damn, That took me like an hour or more to type.. I hope there's not like a cajillian errors

Everyone wants equal rights, you want it for your spouse and the undocumented want it to take care of their families. You have to keep in mind , their countries are poor. So providing for their families is life or death. We should be supporting each other not making it harder for everyone. Two other presidents provided amnesty and that was not a problem then, why is it now? We just have to pray all goes well with the government.

I always count the days since they received the cases. The date our NOA letter has on it.... Also because here in visa journey when you look at timelines of other people it says EAD approved in "...." days and its since the case is received. It's true that without doing biometrics they won't give you EAD but I think they start working on it right away ,they just need to make sure you are clean to allow you.
And sorry about your husband!!, if you find a job offer you could totally expedite you guys need the job!

You can get it almost any time. According to a guy who used to work for uscis and posted a bunch of information here on vj a few years ago, they have contract workers who come in after hours and process all the paperwork the full time employees generate during the day. And part of that processing includes posting electronic notices.
Our NOA2 updated sometime around midnight on the uscis website.

First you need to appoint a lawyer.
From a practical perspective win or lose I would expect any legal action to take a lot longer than the delay you are concerned about.

I have people I can arrange stuff to do with but I miss the casualness of having a best friend

Just a reminder to everyone, as you get significant updates to your case, such as approvals or receipt of EAD/AP/GC, please update your timelines with that information. More data means more accurate estimates on processing times.

No. You are still legally married, thus not free to marry a second time and would comit the crime of bigamy if you get married again.
What you MAY be able to do is get divorced here in the US, without having to track down the Philippines spouse- check with a divorce lawyer in your state, as each state's laws are different.

If you are talking about getting her a ring and formally asking her to marry you than no, it makes no difference for the K1. Many people do this.
All USCIS requires is that you have met in the past 2 years. If the 2 of you did meet than you are good to go, engagement ring is not necessary.
