Magazine - I'm really sorry this is happening I had some trouble getting someone to review my 9 y/o daughter's DS260 as well.... I'll keep my fingers crossed it's resolved soon!!
Una - Awesome news My DS 260 became available about 36 hours after I paid the fee - sooner than I had expected! The other way to access it is to click the third 'tab' "IV Application" at the top right of the page (under the US DOS banner)...... It will remain inactive/greyed out until it is available...
Take your time going through it!! It's a long one

If I recall correctly I couldn't access the form until the IV fee showed as paid AND until NVC reviewed my DS-261 which took them nearly a month as opposed to the usual 10 days. However, isn't your situation slightly different with the whole DS-261 because you have a lawyer?
I'd be surprised if it's any less than 10 days, especially as the whole country seems to stop working for four days over this weekend period!
EDIT: To access DS-260, go into 'invoice receipts' section on the CEAC site, click on the 'select' button where it says 'IV 325$ paid', scroll to bottom of page and select 'IV processing instructions', et voila.

UnaMexicana got a reaction from Darnell in When to start looking for a job
1.- When one should start looking for a job to get more changes of getting hired?
Not a specific timeframe. The urgency with which you will be hired will depend on the area you are in and the demand for the profile you have. My husband took only 3 days to land a job for CSR, which is Customer Service.

2.- Knowing my field, do you think/know if I need validate my career in USA?
You could... but I don't see the point unless required by the company. From your post I see that you are still practicing, does that mean you are fresh out of college? If you explain a little further maybe we can give you a better opinion.
For example, I have an established career where I worked for a big US company branch in Mx. I would never pay a dime to have any school paper certified unless required by a company once there is a formal offer. Most would never require unless its a government job.
Why would your husband suggest you work at Home Depot is beyond me! Does he mean a retail entry job? That is no place for somebody with an engineering background.
You are a software engineer and as such I suppose you understand english, read, write and speak at a level that would allow you to look for job and interview without any problems. If I were you and already had my visa, I would start sending resumes and see where that goes. Kind of test the waters of US employment. Once you have your social, then you can move from email sending and interviews to actually being hired.
You mentioned you had friends working in the US on TN Visa. Is there any chance you can be employed by that company now that you are a fully able resident? I know it was not in the stars for me, which was sad... but there is plenty of opportunity in the US with your background!!!
    Good luck!

Hi, I'm fairly certain that NVC would not consider a new job in the US as a reason for an expedite, however I'd be inclined to strongly emphasize the loss of your current job as a factor creating hardship - if you have property and/or savings in Mexico though it may be hard to justify hardship.
Bearing that in mind I'd be wary about mentioning a job in the US as they may think that you've colluded with your current employer to suddenly find yourself jobless just as your visa application is at the stage it is!
    God speed. x

I have a girlfriend here I work with stuck waiting to submit the DS260 as well This really bites that they're have not fixed this yet!
I would think go ahead and pay the fees by mail because if nothing else that is just one more thing *done*
As for accepting the job - it never hurts to ask for the expedite.... you can show proof that your job is terminating on a specific date and with the stage you're at, accepting any employment in Mexico is silly since it'd be short term.... Write up a really good letter (email) and attach lots of proof and send it off as an expedite request. The worst thing possible would be if they said no which really doesn't change where you're at now anyways.....
    ((( hugs )))
    You're almost there

On our end, we had our medical Tuesday in Toronto...... what a nightmare!! Kids and I were out the door at 3:30 am, drove 4.5 hours for an 8:30 appointment. Get there to hear the witch of a receptionist say that she called Monday and didn't speak to me so cancelled our appointments! I was livid.!! She kept making it sound like it was my fault that they screwed up!! Another three hours waiting and we finally saw the doc :P UGH!!!! We finally made it back home about 6pm and, oh man, did I sleep hard last night!!!
But at least it's done and now on to the interview!!!

    Time for a new lawyer.
Apart from anything waivers take about 5 months and I have yet to see anybody in this sort of situation require one.

    You're welcome.
You should ask your lawyer to cite a few cases where what she says actually happened, bet she doesn't come up with any. You might be asked why you decided to stay, but no way would it be misrepresentation.

Must be a relief to finally get out of USCIS!
Did you bring all the relevant docs to the US with you so that you can do all the stages right up to medical and interview before having to return to Mexico?
The clearance times at NVC appear to have reduced to just under 30 days after scan date, which is good news for both of us but I have seen threads about website payment chaos over the last few weeks which may slow you down a bit - appears to me that there always seems to be at least one department in the process that doesn't work properly!!!
Does the Mexican embassy have a fairly fast turnaround? It would appear that there's about a six week wait at the UK embassy from the time that NVC instruct them to interview time meaning that I'm hoping for a mid-September interview
