    Hi Everyone.

an update on my parents AOS from a B1/B2

    Filed 11/16

    EAD Approved 03/08

    EAD received 03/14

I485 status since received was "Fingerprint Fee Received" it never changed to anything and I was hoping for the best

Today, 05/08, they're I-485 was Approved and interview waived! Couldn't be happier, I had a good feeling that it had never changed to "Ready to be scheduled for interview"

This is the end of the process, I'll send an update on here when they receive the GC

Hope all November filers are getting to the finish line as well

11/10/17 - Card was mailed to me

Congratulations to you as well!!! :D lol I'm not surprised, I'm starting to get really annoyed that my phone won't shut up from all the notificatio ns today! I might just turn them off lol

Thanks! It's been a loong wait for my parents, their anxiety is doubled as they're older so its been tough keeping them grounded lol. I was relived to get the good news today. Now all we have to do is wait for their interview but to be honest, that doesnt matter anymore, they can start getting settled in South Carolina without stressing. Good luck everyone.

  4. Ooohhhh...an insider.. :D your bros friend's friend must come in handy! ;)

Thank you a lot for sharing that with us :) That's a very thoughtful gesture for everyone waiting :)

Not really, of course she's not allowed to say anything and I wouldnt ask her even check our case, I wouldnt want to jeopardize anything. She does work at the lockbox and just happened to know that the week of Thanksgiving they were moving really slow and she suggested we dont count that week as productive or as actual wait time that was all. I shared bc I know a lot of us shipped package that week and it was received 11/14-18. Now we just have to keep waiting, I hope we get something before this week is over.

  5. Hi,

My bro is doing my parents paperwork. Again, we sent the paperworks to Chicago Lockbox on 11/15, they were received on 11/16 still nothing.

So I have some news for everyone, my brother has a friend, who has a friend lol who works at USCIS and she said they got behind on the week of Thanksgiving, so just dont count that week and you'll be back to a normal wait. For the ones who have not received the NOA1 still, thats what happened, the week of Thanksgiving.

  6. Thanks Dave

But I still don't get it

    What I have is

    Pay.gov Tracking ID

    Agency Tracking ID

I received both of them via email as soon as I paid the $165.

The other one I have is the i-130 confirmation USCIS sent me early last year at the start of the entire process

How do I know my receipt ID you're referring to ?

Is it a hard copy receipt from USCIS.

Did you pay the Immigrant Fee through ELIS? If so, inside ELIS, after you paid you should have received a message in the MY MESSAGES tab on the left, you go there and open up the message which is a PDF receipt. At the top right hand corner of that document you can find the Receipt ID which works to check the status in the Check My Status page.

    Hope this clarifies.

I did not receive the emails you mentioned, this may be because you used the older payment method, when I paid for my fee it was through ELIS using a new link provided at that time when trying to make the payment.

  7. Hi everyone, so this is just another update on my journey as a new LPR. I arrived on October 9th to Boston and was told that my green card would arrive in the mail in the next 3 to 6 months. From reading online, I figured it wouldnt take so long, however after 6 weeks still hasnt shown up and I started getting a bit anxious. So for those of you that are in the same waiting process, I wanted to share a tip that maybe you all already knew but dumb me, just figured it out yesterday. So there IS a way to track your green card after POE. For those of you who paid for the new immigrant fee of $165 before your arrival, or even after. The receipt you get from USCIS which says your payment has been received has a Receipt ID on the top right hand corner which I never thought would work as a USCIS case number. Yesterday it dawned on me that this was the case number so I went on USCIS´s Check My Status which I had not used since the tracking of my initial I-130 and used the Receipt ID that I just mentioned and VOILA!!! First, it said that on Nov 18th my new card was being produced. Today, I checked again and this is the latest update

    Card Was Mailed To Me

On November 23, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number IOE60xxxxxxxx, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by December 23, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  8. Congrats Dave... I'm not sure if there is a link to check status, but my wife got her green card less than a month after she arrived. I'm not sure if that is standard or if they operate like USCIS or the NVC where there is no method to their madness.... That was also 9-10 months ago, so the wait time may have changed...

I have an update besides. My wife just gave birth to our daughter on Saturday.... So awesome and crazy year...

Thanks for that. I actually went to the SSN office and they mentioned that as long as an application was not already being processed they could do it for me. So they filled out the info and he said that if it all verified, he could issue the number right away, so he did and voila! gave me the letter as proof of application and I should receive it in the next week.

    Thanks again

  9. Hey everyone.

So I´m still here in Spain. Still havent traveled to the US. I am flying out on Oct through Dublin, Ireland arriving in Boston the same day. I decided to go through Dublin to have a faster processing at the POE and arrive in Boston as a domestic flight. Figured it´s a much more interesting experience. Once I enter my visa will be on its last 60 days of validity, meaning I´ve been waiting 4 months since it was issued. Had plenty to do here before the big move but not long now.

Was writing to see if anyone who´s already entered the country wanted to share their POE experiences as I approach this phase of the journey.

Hope everyone´s enjoying their new lives.

    David

  10. i cant believe it, on the 1st of june 2015, i got my NOA2!! after all the waiting and stressing i cant believe it... i couldnt be happier right now... thank you god xxx

Congrats!!!! I know right now it may seem like its been forever and its ruined all your plans. But I had some delays myself and in the end I was happy because it was so worth it. I am now IR1 Category and will therefore arrive as a permanent resident with no conditions. I already have my visa but am not leaving until October.

Think of it this way, Im not sure when you got married, but if ur 2nd anniversary is before ur Interview or POE you will not have to deal with USCIS for the next 10 yrs ;)

  11. First of all congratulations..

I just have case complete at nvc.. What happen next?

    First of all congratulations..

I just have case complete at nvc.. What happen next?

Thanks! I still cant believe it.

Well, once you know your case has been completed, you should be expecting a confirmation email from the NVC within the next couple of days, and an interview date within the next two weeks. Mine took a bit less actually, once you receive the letter with the interview date, it will have a list at the bottom of the documents that have already been shipped to the embassy from the NVC and if anything is missing or incomplete it will show on there.

Make sure your passport has at least 6 month validity from the day of your interview. (Your visa will be valid for 6 months from the time it's issued and that's why your passport must be valid for this period)

If your embassy is nearby you should just focus on making sure you have all your documents ready and wait for instructions. I took all sorts of supporting documents, pictures, extra copies of each document like birth certificate, marriage cert, police certificate. They had everything there and nothing was missing. My only issue was the AOS which was showing incomplete on the list at the bottom of the interview letter. However all they wanted to see was the latest tax return (2014) as the AOS had been filed back in October when docs were initially sent to the NVC. To be honest they only looked at the form, barely took a glance over the paystubs and employer letter. Just looked at the form and 2014 taxes. Since my spouse isnt working currently because he's in the process of switching jobs, I still put his income in the updated form to $0 and took a joint sponsor form filled out. She said it was fine and smiled :)

I toook so much stuff and I know its better to be safe than sorry, but in the end, they only focus on the AOS and ur admissibility to the US. When my interview started with the consular officer, she said we're gonna take a declaration, just tell me how you two met and if I have questions I'll stop and ask. So I was talking to her for a good 30 min just telling her our story and she kept commenting...how lovely....oh wow....exciting...this and that lol. It was more of a conversation rather than an interview. In the end she had me sit back down for 10 min as she was going to check if I had some sort of inadmissibility as I had been in the US in the past. She called me back and as I previously said, with a huge smile congratulated me and It felt amazing.

Let me know if you have more questions.

  12. Hi March Filing Family!

My husband had his interview yesterday and I am happy to say we were APPROVED! All those months of waiting and worrying...it hasn't set in yet that it's over and probably won't til he's coming down the driveway to our home.

I'm so thankful that we had this group and I'm still thinking about everyone who is continuing on the journey.

Congrats!!! I know the feeling, It still hasnt completely hit me yet! But even less the day I had the interview, the consular officer gave me the biggest smile , she was so nice and was happy to say. Congratulations! everything looks good and I have approved your visa! Have a good life, work hard and enjoy the rest of your day! I had been praying so hard while at the embassy for a nice officer that God sent an angel lol.

But yeah, i know how you must feel, its all over now. if you stop and look back its unbelievable the amount of time we've waited and the how stressful and crazy this ride has been. I'm sure every single day of it is totally worth it.

    Have a happy life!

  13. Hi Guys,

So I received my visa earlier this week. All along my application has been for CR-1, however since the day of my interview was also my 2nd anniversary I was glad to see the visa was correctly issued as IR-1. Even though I already have it with me, I wont be traveling until October as I have plenty of things to sort out here before moving to the US.

Any of the March Filers 2013 that have already POEd have updates about receipt of SSN and GC? How long does that take? I've read on here that it can take up to a few months. I will be changing my name to my husband's once I'm there and dont know if I should wait to have the actual GC to then apply for the replacement with the updated name.

But for now I would appreciate any feedback from those who have recently arrived and have received their docs.

    Thanks

  14. Hey everyone!

Wanted to share the good news. I had my interview today, May 7th at the US Embassy in Madrid and was approved!

After 18 months, its finally come to an end and I can finally start my new life.

God has been so good, he walked me through this entire process and was sitting right there next to me while I was waiting for my number to be called. Had the most wonderful Consular Officer I could´ve asked for. She congratulated me and wished me the best.

So happy and grateful right now.

    Thank you Jesus!

    God bless everyone.

  15. Sorry to hear about your dead beat lawyer. My best advice to you is 1) Even if the NVC says they have everything else, take a copy just in case. Things have a habit of getting lost. 2) do a separate I-864 form for each person. And if you want to be safe, fill one for each person and a joint one. That way if they say one way is wrong, you have the other way already there and complete. Basically I had my wife take a duplicate package of everything we sent to the NVC and the USCIS just in case.

    I hope that helps

    Good luck!

Thanks, you wont believe the drama with our lawyer. It's hard to believe that people with no work ethic at all call themselves lawyers. We will sue once we are back though, we have written proof of all he has put us through and delays he has caused due to his incompetence. Imagine, I called Friday and as usual his secretary was giving me excuses as she has for the last 18 months as to why he cant take a call, she put me on hold and while I was on hold I was talking to my husband and told him "this is bullshit". I mean, I have all the reasons to be irritated, and I wasnt saying anything to her. She comes back on the line "had me on mute" and says. "thank you for the bullshit comment". That was it for me and I told her how inappropriate of her to say that, I am still a customer and never offended her in anyway. They had been disrespecting us for over a year and I had paid for the services, with real money not monopoly bills. She gave me attitude and told me they would get back to me Monday as it was 5.40 and office was already closed.........My lawyer emails me, (after ignoring our emails for 7 days) saying that his secretary left the office in tears and that I had no right to do this....as you can see this is out of a movie, not even. I cant deal with these sort of clowns, not three weeks before my interview. It all comes down to that day, he has screwed with us enough and I cant let them mess this part up. All I need is the financial evidence form and I am certain I can do that alone without his "assistance".

Thanks again, I will make sure I gather as many docs as possible.

  16. Hi Guys,

    I need your help.

Good news, I finally received my interview date, May 7th!

Not so good, financial evidence is the only item in the list showing as I (Incomplete) therefore I will have to take a new form. We have dumped our lawyer last week as he is a complete mess, has been ignoring our emails 3 weeks away from the interview and we are not risking it as he has let us down several times throughout our case.

So I will once again need to fill out the I-864 form, one for my husband, and one for the joint sponsor. My question is, do you fill out two separate forms? one for the main sponsor and same for joint sponsor (obviously mentioning it is the joint sponsor). We have requested from my husband's aunt her last three tax filings, last 6 paystubs, letter confirming she is currently employed at that company and proof of US citizenship. For my husband the same, last 2 yrs of taxes, paystubs for January (not currently working as he had a car accident and is still in recovery, thus the joint sponsor) and proof of US Domicile.

I would appreciate any advice, all other documents have been received by the embassy so I will only be taking the financial evidence form and supporting docs. I will also take originals for the documents that I originally sent to the NVC just in case.

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance!

  17. I just called the NVC as my 60 days were up on March 15th............CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!! I´m so happy, she told me that they are waiting for the interview to be scheduled, that Madrid is not usually busy so to expect an email with the interview date. OMG!!!!! hahahaha wanted to share with everyone, I know its only one more step towards the end of this but after 5 months at the NVC I couldnt be happier.

    Thank you Jesus!
