No idea. Since it's SF they probably require citizenship, are you a citizen? Contact your nearest Navy recruiting station.

    Thanks!
I am keeping myself busy with school, work and gym, i just felt down for a little bit.
So, it might be that i'll get the GC around January, if that's the case, i'll patiently wait. The reason the timing worries me is because i just turned 27 and their cut off age for enlistment is 28. We'll see what happens! I'm up and motivated again. Thank you for your encouraging words!

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I have a gut feeling that eventually I will receive an Interview Waiver Letter as well. So many people in my monthly filer thread have already gotten the "Ready to be scheduled an interview" case status update. A bunch of them already have an interview date set.
I agree that the waiting time with the Interview Waiver Letter is plain ridiculous. Being K1 adjusters we went through so much, filled out tons of paperwork, waited long months, had our realtionships scrunitized at the US Embassy interview and now some of us gotta wait a year! Whereas those who came to the US on a tourist (or whatever else) visa are required to have an interview and therefore the vast majority of them is done with AOS in 4-6 months! It is so not fair.
I also wish my husband and I would have filed for the IR-1/CR-1 (spousal) visa. That way the wait would have been roughly a year (or a little more) and I would have received a greencard on arrival.
I hope you hear from the USCIS soon. Good luck!

    Hurray for Greensboro, NC!!!! Welcome!!
To the OP, I think it would be okay to start job searching when you arrive. As others have said, if you land an interview before you get your EAD, just explain that your authorization to work is in progress and on its way. Most applications here have a "date you can start", and you can make it for a few months out. Since it is a professional job, maybe you could include something in your cover letter to explain why the date is set for so long after your application. Good luck with your job hunt!!

Take your negativity somewhere else, there's nothing wrong with jumping for joy because you never know what could happen.
Last year approvals were taking about 6 months as well and they started transfering cases to CSC, applications got approved faster, they took care (talking about the people in this site) of a bunch of guys who had been waiting for a while and at the same time of the ones that had been waiting only a couple of months. It certainly helped balance the workload until this year.

Maybe a VJ veteran can provide a summary post for us noobs about how the transfer process was handled the last time, and what effect it had on the overall processing time. I'm hearing that for some it didn't have much of an impact? Any anecdotal tidbits you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The loopholes.... Why is it that someone who came to the US (I'm not referring to the OP or his wife in any way, this is just personal experience) on a B1/B2 visa waits 3 months, gets engaged (October). I receive my K-1, fly into the US, this person gets married December 27th, I get married Jan 2nd, I file for AOS a week before this person and.... they already received a notice for interview for next month and i'm sitting here, just wondering why didn't I take that route considering i'll probably be receiving an Interview waiver and not be able to join the military for quite some time....
I knew their intentions, i advised to go the K-1 and they said no, that they were going to do it that way. AAAAaaaaand, they're probably gonna get away with it while I sit here, and read all of the threads where people go head to head on this subject.
Oh well, it is what it is.
OP, i'm sorry I needed to vent, this doesn't go towards you, it's your decision to do whatever you want to do and I just wish the best for you and your spouse.
    Good luck,
    Adrian
