Andrey & I were just married and I just got our marriage license back. Now I'm about to send off this paperwork but the I-485 instructions state "you only need to submit the vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your Form I-485."
Andrey was never given anything, no DS-3025 or anything else that wasn't in the sealed envelope. Even though I urged him to get any vaccinations he thought he was missing in Russia rather than wait until he came here, he never went to a doctor to see if he was missing any & when he went to his exam, they never flat out told him that he was missing any. He says the girl just kept saying "You don't have to get any until you get your citizenship a long time from now." when he would ask.

What do we do? Do I just send in everything else and wait for a RFE? I've read where some sent in a letter stating they never got any documentation for vaccinations because everything was in the sealed envelope and they never got a RFE. Do I need to take him somewhere and go through this stupid vaccination process again? These vaccinations are like $100 a piece and that really adds up.

[Moderator hat off]

Your County Health Department can probably give him any missing vaccines for a lot less than $100 (ours were around $10 or $20).

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Meghan,

My wife did receive a copy of her 3025 along with her x-Rays from the Moscow clinic she went to for her k1 medical. I was with her at the interview, so I brought those all back with me. However, her 3025 was not complete, therefore we went through the entire 693 process prior to sending in the 485 package. It was a bit of a pain, and cost about 150 for the CS and the vaccinations at the county health department. With all of that we received no RFEs and she was approved for a GC in a little over five months from when we submitted the 485.

Since Andrey does not have a 3025, I would suggest getting the CS and 693 process done now as opposed to waiting for an RFE which may send you scrambling when you get it.

Good Luck,

Bill

Andrey & I were just married and I just got our marriage license back.

Congrats....and you mean the marriage certificate?

Andrey was never given anything, no DS-3025

It's not automatically given, you have to ask for it at the medical.

What is supposed to happen is one obtains the 3025 form. Then you select a local Civil Surgeon who will transcribe those results onto the applicable parts of the 693 form. Then sign it and give you two copies in a sealed envelope. One copy/envelope is included in the 485 documents and all is well.

The CS can charge whatever they want for this service and some will try to scam you into repeating the entire medical, so it is suggested to shop around and call and obtain quotes.

For your case, you might need to repeat the medical or have vaccinations repeated if there is no proof of ever obtaining those.

Do I just send in everything else and wait for a RFE?

Not suggested.

I've read where some sent in a letter stating they never got any documentation for vaccinations because everything was in the sealed envelope and they never got a RFE.

It's a gamble.

Do I need to take him somewhere and go through this stupid vaccination process again? These vaccinations are like $100 a piece and that really adds up.

Which is why he should have taken care of this over there.

I thought I had done all my research before his interview but that was something I missed. Thank y'all. I guess I need to figure out some way to translate the vaccinations from his medical book to know for sure what he has (since I doubt anyone around here reads Russian) then the doc can eliminate the age exemptions & go from there. Thank y'all!

I've read that but he wasn't given the DS-3025. So it isn't a matter of it being insufficient or incomplete, it just doesn't exist.

Did he have the vaccinations before or at the K-1 medical? In that case the original DS-3025 is in with his other documents turned in at his POE. There is info at the bottom of that post about not having a copy of the DS-3025.

If he did not receive the required vaccinations before or at the K-1 for them to be marked off on the DS-3025, then he needs to see a civil surgeon.

He didn't receive any at the medical exam in Moscow. He says he asked her what he was missing, if any, and she just kept saying that he didn't have to worry about getting any until he was getting his citizenship "a long time from now." I'm guessing he's missing a few in his medical book because even he said they didn't always write them down & it's impossible to get any info from the school(s) he would have gotten them at.

He needs one in a series for MMR, Tdap/TD, varicella(unless you already had chickenpox), and flu shot(only during flu season/Oct. - Mar.). http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#tbl1

You will need to find a civil surgeon in the US that will not insist on a new medical and do the vaccinations only for you.

You might be able to find a civil surgeon in this thread > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/page-13
