  1. Nope, it only shows the date they mailed the notice to me that it was approved.

    Post Decision Activity

On September 20, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

Yes, I received an email on 8/29 that it was shipped and when i checked on the USCIS website, the status had also changed to it being shipped to NVC on 8/29.

My suggestion? Both USCIS & NVC truly suck, and you will definitely not enjoy the ride at NVC so try to take everything calmly and have plenty of patience (I know, that's hard for us).

After 8/29, i called about a week later to see if NVC had received it and they told me the same thing, to wait 5 weeks from the date on the NOA2 for them to "receive" it. Just FYI that when they say "receive" it means that they scan it into their system that day. Technically it's in the building for some time but they don't process these things right away, that's why it takes so much time for them to "receive" the file (aka scan it into their system).

I suggest you both look into the NVC thread for this month (if you haven't done so already) and familiarize yourself with the NVC process and get as much ready for the NVC as possible. This was the only way i avoided going crazy!! LOL....best of luck. Here are the two threads.

This one is to ask questions regarding the NVC process and give status updates: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/516671-nvc-filers-october-2014/

This one is to rant and complain about how much you hate/dislike NVC :) : http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/516597-the-nvc-october-moral-supportranting-thread/

  2. It's been a little over a week since I've gotten NOA2 and I'm just wondering if I should call USCIS because I haven't received any notice of my case being shipped to NVC as of yet..

Mine was approved on 8/18 and shipped out on 8/29 so it takes them some time. Nebraska seems to be the only one that send an email notification regarding the shipping ot he approved I-130 as well. Not sure about the other service centers.

  3. I am so sorry Solenta about all this situation, they do treat us like criminals, let me tell you what happened to me on Feb 25 2014 a date ill never forget. I was going there with my husband for our honeymoon, we had our ceremony here in Mexico on feb 22, I was coming back to Mexico after the honeymoon so anyways, they denied me thw entry to the U.S. because I was married to a usc and not only that they cancel my visa, for them to cancel my visa they detained me for 8 hours, like a criminal, pretty much on jail, I wasnt doi g anything illegal, ever since I had memory I own a tourist visa but thwy didnt care. It was such a nightmare the border officers offended me and my husband. I still dont know whyt they did that, while I was there in that little office, around 10 officers were "working" and they didnt really work at all, I was they only one that was out that day but they have around 56 kids from guatemala in a small space like animals, making fun of them an nobody was working on their cases to releaae them. The whole system is broken, they dont want to fix it, they dont want me or your husband to move there, but we wont give up. I am never gonna give up because of this and one day hopefully soon ill be able to spend my life with him.

I'm the petitioner and was planning to get my husband a tourist visa so he could come to the U.S. with me to travel or what not but decided not to b/c this is exactly what i fear the most. CBPs are extremely rude and offensive and I just didn't want to deal with them until my husband is a resident. So sad to hear stories like this. You'd expect so much more from a first world country.

  4. No worries, this is the right place to do that!

Try to look at the bright side: by the time you get to the next step, NVC backlog will no be so bad and things will go smoother for you! Keep the hopes up! Xoxo

Thanks, I needed that! My husband also tells me to look at the bright side. . . I think I just get annoyed that NVC has me on hold for no reason but you're right, I will look at the bright side of things. Thank you!

  5. i saw that …even without a N/A ?? ….and I've been trying to get through for the past hour but i think this is peek calling times now :oops: …i will try again soon thanks

It seems that AOS changing to N/A is not as reliable as before. Many people have had CCs and the AOS has not changed until a few days after. That's been my observation from this thread. I hope you get your CC this week so you can be done with NVC.

  6. I received a second email from the NVC saying that they updated my email addresses with the information provided (I sent them this email on 9/17, they were responding). This is still not my Welcome email, AOS is still locked. I hope this week passes quickly because my 20 business days are up on Friday 10/17 (since next Monday is a holiday for them). Ugh....I can't wait to get started with this process already.

I can't believe it will be 60 days on 10/17 and i have not been able to submit anything because they have my case on hold for no reason. Sorry, needed to vent. Good luck to everyone waiting on CC. :)

  7. Thanks now its all clear to me... btw we dont have a welcome letter yet coz my husband just called the nvc today for our case number which the operator just gave it to him... we didnt know that we also need to ask for that invoice ID.. guess ill tell my husband to call again.

    Thanks so much.

Your welcome, happy to help :) Make sure you read Saylin's WiKi on the NVC process (first post of this thread). Has great info but you need to read it a few times to capture all of the great info on there.

I received my case # and IIN on 9/17 & filled out the DS-261 on 9/18. NVC told me that I needed to wait up to 20 business days from 9/18 to receive my welcome email and for my AOS fee to be unlocked. Just fyi in case you don't get it right away. Hopefully, they speed up and we can get our AOS unlocked asap!

As far as IIN goes, you need that and case # for everything on CEAC website so make sure you get it and writ it down somewhere safe. Best of luck! :)

  8. Hi all im just confused so i want to ask whats the next step after we got our case number? Can we pay our AOS now or wait for nvc instruction before we pay? Some said we need the Invoice ID before we can proceed... Thanks in advance.. your answer will be much appreciated.

If you already have your case #, call again and ask for your Invoice Identification Number (IIN). Once you have those two, you can log into the CEAC website and if AOS and DS-261 are available, you can fill out DS-261 and pay AOS fee.

You will also receive a Welcome email from NVC.

My husband ordered his online and sent them to NVC. Our AOS was approved without checklist.

When you say he ordered his online, do you mean he printed them off the IRS online website or he placed an order for copies to be mailed to him?

  9. Whoa. That's odd (at least from my stand point) I am looking through all of my e-mails and have never received something like that. Time for the call up to the good ol' NVC in my opinion!

I love how efficient NVC is. Spoke with Gus and he basically said that although the email says they sent it out, nothing has been sent out and the AOS fee has not been processed. Said my case was still in its opening days, that he was sorry but that I needed to wait up to 20 business days for AOS.

  10. I AM SOOOO CONFUSED!! I called NVC yesterday and they said that i needed to wait 20 business days for my AOS fee to unlock since my case was just received on 9/17. I had sent NVC an email in late August and received a long email from them today. I don't think this is my welcome email because it doesn't state that anywhere. AOS is still locked. The first part is what is so weird:

    Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: CDJ********** filed by ***** on behalf of **********.

A packet containing the Affidavit of Support Processing Fee Bill Invoice was sent to the petitioner for this case. The fee must be received before the petition can be processed further.

To make a payment go to ceac.state.gov and follow the instructions to submit the fee using the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center. To make a payment you will need the following information, which is included on the fee bill invoice:

    * The NVC case number

    * The invoice identification number

If you are unable to pay online, you must submit your fee using the alternative payment option by submitting a cashier's check or money order. For alternative payment instructions please visit the following website:

    http://nvc.state.gov (See Step 2 - Pay fees)

Once the payment is received and processed, you will be given instructions on how to download the instruction packets and the appropriate forms online. You will need to mail the appropriate forms to the NVC in order to complete your immigrant visa processing.

  11. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. :( I hope it is resolved soon. I can't believe it though, from what you're posting it seems like this supervisor hasn't been at her desk for the past week!!!:( I hope she comes back with good news for you.

I just received my welcome email, and got both my fees invoiced!!! I know I'm still very new to this NVC stage but YAY progress! Your good thoughts must have helped. :)

Congrats!! That's wonderful news . . . your received date is the same as mine. . . I still have not received a welcome email and my AOS remains locked. I'm inclined to call but then I just don't want to be disappointed again. I'll decide later whether to call or not. . . so happy for you though, start on your stuff as quickly as you can.

SUGGESTION: check all of the docs that your attorney is submitting for you. I-864 form, what it says on the form, docs, IV docs, etc....You don't want to get a checklist b/c he/she was not thorough. Good luck!

  12. I am so irritated with NVC. They still have not unlocked my AOS fee and although I know they said 20 business days, I'm sick of waiting and want to pay it already! Seriously, how hard is it for them to just press the button to unlock so I can give them money?

Ugh....anyway, back to waiting I guess . . . also, they keep saying that they don't see my DS-261 on file b/c the case is too new....whatever.

I hope this week is better although it's been slow since yesterday.

  13. Oh, thanks, that's good to know. Hey, another question. Were you able to fill out the DS-261 right away after logging in to the CEAC site for the first time? Where did you have to click? My CEAC site has three "tabs" on top but I can't click on any of them, then on the "summary information" page I have two boxes, one for AOS and one for IV. The first line says "Please contact the National Visa Center , if you want to change the Agent/Attorney Name or Address Information on your case."

I'm trying to confirm if I get to skip the DS-261 because I have a lawyer (that's what I heard)... when NVC gave me my case number over the phone, they already had my lawyer's info on file so I assume maybe yes. I suppose I'll find out eventually but oh well. :) Thank you!

Yes, i was able to fill out the DS-261 same day. From what i know, since you have an attorney you don't need to fill out the DS-261. Also, your AOS & IV fees should unlock at the same time b/c you have an attorney. Good luck with the process and i really hope we can submit our AOS gees very very soon, like this week!! :)

  14. Got my case number just now, it was assigned today. Thanks for inspiring me to call, haha. :) I can't do anything with it (except log in to the CEAC page) yet but oh well, it's something! They told me I could be waiting "up to 20 days" (I thought that was a weird number) for my email. Hope it's not that long.

Thank you harsimar0925 for the info too!

That's awesome!! They told me the same thing...but they said 20 business days, not calendar. Fyi :)
