  1. Hi,

My wife does not have her 1040's available and we'll be using tax-transcripts from the IRS for the I-864EZ form, and we are wondering which number from the IRS tax-transcript we need to use. Is it the line that says "Total Income" that needs to be entered as the income for the previous years ?

Here's a picture of the tax-transcript in question:

    UmtCVVZz.jpeg

Its only the first line and the two last lines that has numbers in them, and they are all the same number, matching up with the W-2 for last year (Except IRS rounds up to nearest dollar)

We will also send the most recent W-2, 6 months of paystubs and employment letter. Been trying to get in touch with the NVC today, but its just busy... wonder what they could be busy with

Ps. I posted this as a separate topic (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/520401-i-864ez-total-income-and-irs-transcript/ ), so this might be considered double posting, however, if mods want they can delete the other thread as this is a more appriopriate place to post this  . Thanks!

    TJ

Yes, use the income that appears as "TOTAL INCOME" . . . that is what I used for my I-864EZ (by the way, just to reassure you, I do have my tax returns as well and i compared the total income on the IRS transcript to the line that says Total Income on the return and they matched).

Also, NVC prefers IRS transcripts so you are definitely on the right track.

One more thing: I assume that you filed form 1040 or 1040A to use total income. If you filed 1040EZ, then you have to use Adjusted Income. Just a reminder to use the # according to the IRS form you submitted.

  2. plz i need a lil help..

I paid the AOS fees, and I have the Document cover sheet.

    the requested documents include:

    1. cover sheet.

    2. Financial Documents.

    3. Supporting Documents.

    4. Other Documents.

plz i need to know the following:

    1. Does the supporting documents is the IV package??

    2. Should i wait for the IV fees to send these documents??

I've read the wiki but i'm missed up with all the info i read here and there..

if plz can someone who walked the road tell me what should i do from this point?

    For AOS, you will need:

    • AOS bar-coded cover sheet (with NVC address, Attn: CMR AOS)
    • Document Cover Sheet (where you check off what is included in the package)
    • Cover Letter (optional)
    • I-864 form (signed & completed)
    • IRS Transcripts for last 3 years OR a full copy of the tax returns for the past 3 years
    • Employment letter (not required but good to have to prove current income)
    • Pay stubs (not required but good to have to prove current income)

    For IV Package:

    • Original or certified copy of applicant's birth certificate (with translation if needed)
    • Original or certified copy of marriage certificate (with translation if needed)
    • Photocopy of applicant's biographical data page from current passport
    • 2 U.S. passport sized photographs of applicant
    • Police Certificate (if applicable)
    • CHECK TO SEE IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER DOCS FOR EGYPT - I'M NOT SURE

I will answer based on my experience and a friend's experience on VJ:

ME: I collected all of my docs and while I collected my docs (took a few days), my IV fee was unlocked and I was able to pay it and fill out DS-260. The IV fee (per NVC operator) was going to be unlocked for me 20 business days (the same as 30 calendar days) from when i submitted the DS-261. [submitted DS-261 on 9/18/2014, IV fee available to pay on 10/16/2014). Once I had all of my docs and paid both fees and submitted DS-260, i sent in all of my documents together BUT separated my IV docs from AOS docs in two separate envelopes marked AOS, IV and then placed both envelopes in another

larger envelope that was used for mailing.

MY FRIEND: His case moved a little faster than mine and he had all of his docs ready to go. So he decided to send in AOS and IV package together BEFORE his IV fee was available to pay. They accepted

both and 7 days after his documents were accepted his IV fee unlocked. He has had no issues as of now.

My POINT IS THIS: It's up to you. Some people like to wait until everything is paid and submitted, others risk it and send both packages before IV fee is paid. YOU have to make that choice. The one thing i will say is that both packages MUST be sent together per NVC's new process. DO NOT SEND THEM SEPARATELY, AS THIS MAY CAUSE DELAYS.

  4. I'm going to bite the bullet and call in the morning tomorrow. Might as well get the information (right or wrong) from the horses mouth ;)

And just to let you know, I got 2 e-mails - One on Saturday and the other today. This is only to state that they have received my package (same e-mail). Let's see what the magic 8 ball (aka NVC) tells me tomorrow. :jest:

And I didn't do the math calculation - it seems too good to be true to be in November - with the rate that it's going it doesn't look like they'll cover September in that time span. Sorry...I guess I'm Debby Downer of the group

You are not a Debby Downer, you are being cautious which is good! I believe November is too good to be true as well but you never know....I'm sticking with a December CC to keep sane. ha-ha :)

  5. Hey all,

I got a checklist for the second time last week wednesday. Our lawyer looked it over and say the AOS is correct. I called NVC and rep Tessa told me what the mistake was, but im looking at what we submitted and the mistake NVC claimed we made is incorrect. The AOS is correct!!!

What do i do!??? Im tryna get theu to NVC now again... Always busy no luck!

If you and your attorney know the AOS is correct, all you can do (or your attorney) is call NVC and ask for a supervisor's review because only a supervisor can really do anything about it at this point. A rep won't be able to fix anything.

  6. I am screwed. My scan date was aug 14 foe aos and iv sep 26 but got checklist for aos and sent back on oct 21

This is not 100%, but what i have noticed on this thread is that if you have a checklisted document that needs to be reviewed and you have another regular document pending as well, they'll review both of them together with the first scan date. In your case, hopefully, this is true and they can review your checklisted AOS with your IV package scan date of Sept. 26. Let's hope that is the case! Like I said, not 100% accurate but definitely a trend on this thread.

  7. We can be the 10/2X scan crowd I guess . You only got one email though? Why did I get two? One on Saturday (dated Saturday) and one today (dated today), but the content is exactly the same. I guess I am just special like that. My scan date could be the 23, 24, 25 or 27. I'm going with what they told my wife when she called about that whole checklist business, which is the 24. I had called the 23rd around 9pm and they didn't have anything in their system. Now if time could pass a little faster :clock:

I received two IV fee emails, exactly the same, with different dates LOL...NVC tends to do that (send more than one email of the same thing). If they are the same, feel free to disregard.

  8. Hello my fellow and experienced NVCers!!!

I hope everyone is well and surviving the wait!

There may or may not be an issue with my case. I thought that i could pay the AOS and IV fees one at a time. But after I paid the AOS, the IV fee says 'PAY NOW' but when I click it doesn't let me 'SELECT' to pay.

Now that NVC has changed their process, does anyone know if we still have to wait 30 days for the IV fee to be available?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    ~ Sofi

Mine did the same thing and I couldn't "select" it to pay IV fee. If you look at my signature, my IV fee was available a few days after I paid AOS. What happens is that you pay AOS and then they still have to review and approve your DS-261. After they approve DS-261, they unlock the IV fee and you are able to pay right away. I was told that my IV fee would open 20 business days after I submitted the DS-261. It actually opened a little before that. You no longer have to wait the 30 days. Look at my signature for more specific dates.

Hang in there, it will open shortly.

  9. Ah, good to know. :) Yeah, same reason I'm keeping the 24th. My docs were delivered on the 22nd around 10am so the 23rd doesn't make a lot of sense. Thanks!

Yup, that's why I am sticking with the 23rd as well LOL

We got ours as well stating that they received it on the 23rd of Oct. The e-mail was sent on the 27th of October so I'm sort of assuming that my scan date is the 27th. Wondering if I should just call them tomorrow and check and see. I'm not waiting on the line tonight.

I would call...because the email can sometimes be wrong.

Have either of you seen a post regarding a math calculation to determine the date of your CC? I saw it on this thread and did it just for fun. If it's true, it would be awesome. My date range fell in between November 18-25 for a CC (based on math calculation). That would mean a January interview which would be great! BUT as the cautious person I am, in my head I'll stick with December CC and secretly hope for November instead ha-ha :)

  10. Hey jcruz! Did you receive a 60-day wait letter? I received two, both at 7am, one on Saturday (yeah) and one on Monday (today). The letters are identical except for the date (I'm assuming one for each package, even though we sent them both together). If you got it, what day did they say they received your docs? Because by calling we found out the scan date was the 24th, but the letter states

I don't think this matters at all, but I was curious. :)

Yes, I received the 60 day letter on 10/24/14 and it stated that my documents were received on 10/21/14 (that was the day they were delivered). When I called NVC, they said the docs were placed in their system on 10/23/14. I am going with 10/23/14 instead since it makes more sense to me that they would take a bit longer to put the docs in the system lol

  11. Hi everyone !

I have started filling out form I-130 and since my husband is from Mexico and here they are accostumed to using 2 last names, the fathers last name and the mother`s last name. His two last names are RAMIREZ and CASTELLANOS.. in the form should I include both last names and separate them with a comma or just write them out as they are?

My husband has two last names as well and i put both with a space in between them, no comma. we didn't have any issues with USCIS, approved in August with no problems.

Also, please remember that his legal name is needed which is his entire name. it doesn't matter if in the states it's different, they want his entire information at hand. Best of luck!

  12. Thank you but now i need the website to fill out the ds 260 and I have no access to it since the NVC no longer has my case I have no idea what website it is the one listed on my entrance letter to the consulate takes me to the http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate.html instead of immigrantvisas.state.gov I need a direct link to the ds260 from juarez :(

Hmm....not sure if this will help:

    http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Supplemental/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf

    OR this one?

    https://usvisa-info.com/es-mx/selfservice/ss_country_welcome

  13. I'm so confused our case was expedited and I only paid the AOS packet online and never sent in the packet. Now I get a letter to make an appointment yet the IV bill isn't available and so the the DS-260 isn't either? I called the consulate they said I have to pay 325 for the bill I'm not sure if it's the IV bill or the bill you get after your visa is approved? and pay for it there?

$325 is the cost of IV (Immigrant Visa). If your case was expedited & shipped out already, more than likely you will have to pay this fee at the consulate. This is my understanding though, hopefully someone else also gives their understanding of this.

After your interview is approved and before your POE, you should pay the $165 ELIS fee with USCIS so your green card is issued. It's usually preferred by USCIS that you pay before you enter the USA. Here is their website: http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis

  14. Congrats!!! That made me wonder if with all this Iv packages and checklist getting review with scan dates in Sept in August scan dates... the process will actually speed up and Sept will move along quicker than August. crossing my fingers. I still got all Sept ahead of me for my checklist to get review :(

You make a good point. If they are approving all of these August AOS along with the IV packages scanned in September and October, then next month should be faster since they will be looking at September scan dates for AOS only along with checklists for Sept. as well. I really hope this works out in our favor

  15. oh god, don't tell me that!! that is so mess up.. I got a checklist for aos on 9/30 got it fixed and resend new scan date is 10/3... I won't be in peace till I actually see a cc.... this is so nerve wrecking

This is not something that happens all the time though so don't over-stress about it! I simple responded because I saw a case here on VJ that they received a checklist, re-did the AOS and caught something else that was wrong and NVC had not even mentioned it on their checklist. The way i see it, the agent reviewing the document probably didn't notice the second mistake until they received the checklisted document...but again, this is not always the case. This is not the rule but more the exception.....it happens sometimes not all the time....so lets just calm down and pray that we do not receive a checklist! :)

I checked my stuff literally 10 times before sending but you never know with NVC...so all I can do is pray to my God that he helps me with evil NVC lol

  16. I just recieved an email for a checklist for AOS but we corrected everything on the first checklist. Now, this checklist says a different part is incorrect. If it were incorrect wouldn't it have been checklisted the first time? My lawyer and I are confused. Can it be a false checklist?

no, i would call to be sure but sometimes NVC will do this....not say everything that is wrong the first time.

  17. its actually 60 days, not business days. So holidays wont affect the 60 days countdown.

Really?! That is awesome, thanks for the info! I knew it was calendar days but thought that any holiday they celebrate would affect my 60 days and push it further out. Then i expect a CC by 12/22! Woohooo....I hope my meticulous nature helped me fill out everything correctly and that I sent in everything so I can get a February interview date for my husband :)
