I would suggest your lease/mortgage with both your names on it, bank statements showing co-mingling of finances, phone bill with both names on it, car insurance with both names, wills/poa if you have them and life insurance with each other as beneficiaries. Really as many things that have both your names on it as possible and showing your joint finances.

I had the exact same scenario and my card was mailed to my old address. I had to convince the apartment manager to forward it to me even though that was not their policy.

@motherofdragons Just wondering if you indicated a name change on your N-400.
No name change. Who knows what they’re doing... I’ll just keep waiting!

@voltsWere you rescheduled? When was your original ceremony? Trying to figure out what order they are doing it in.

I received the notice on myUSCIS on 6/2, so about 15 days notice. Be prepared for a no-frills ceremony!
At this point I would appreciate a ceremony where they hit me over the head with my certificate lol. I just want to vote!

I had my oath ceremony at the New Orleans field office last week, on June 17th. There were a total of 10 people in my group. Hope you get your ceremony notice soon!
That gives me hope! How many days notice did you get?
-
Waiting on oath ceremony. Was March 20, no news about a reschedule yet.

Also, correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t it always say that but underneath where it says “the offices listed below are closed”, they listed the actual offices that were closed. I mean, a few weeks ago it listed so many and as time went on, the list got shorter. Up until yesterday when it was only 2 NY field offices that remained closed. Maybe all are open now and they just haven’t changed the wording of the first statement?

It’s not furlough. I talked to a friend at USCIS and they said the email is coming out tomorrow about the furlough. They have to give the employees 30 days notice so it won’t start until August. I’ll check back with them tomorrow about the email.

Let’s just hope it’s a glitch!

Thank you! I’m glad that I got my job a month before my stamp expires, that was pure luck since I thought I would be rescheduled by now.
I’ve been following all the oath ceremonies that have been held with social distancing or in parking lots. I’m hoping New Orleans follows suit but sadly, we are a hot spot for the virus.
I really really want to vote and time is running down to register!

Waiting (patiently) for my oath ceremony that was cancelled due to COVID in New Orleans. Crickets out here. I sent an email because my I551 stamp is expiring and I will have no proof of status for my employer but all I got was the canned response about "COVID, increased wait times, wait 90 days, etc". Any other Big Easy-ers waiting with me? Heard anything?

Guys, we really need to contact Senators! It’s absolutely crazy situation with USCIS.
i did it already.
What did you put in your email? I am going to contact my senator today and struggling with what to write.

You can get a photo taken from a photo shop or professional photographer. You can even do it yourself as long as it meets the requirements. I had my son's Canadian passport photo taken at a photo shop (I brought in the paper that had the specifications but they said they do it all the time and knew what to do). I mailed a friend the guarantor paperwork, they filled it out and mailed it back to me.
Keep in mind that if you are changing your name, it won't be a renewal. It will be a new application.

yup agree that's why a drive through oath ceremony in USCIS parking lot might be the only option lol
Then the people without cars would cry discrimination and file a lawsuit through the ACLU lol

The article interestingly didn't mention all the new citizens being able to vote. I wonder why they left that out since immigrants are generally believed to vote Democratic and its being led by the Democrats. Hmmm...
I, however, am all for virtual ceremonies. In fact, I am for no ceremonies at all as I feel they are a waste of money. Yes, I skipped my high school grad, my college grad and I was married by a Justice of the Peace in his living room.I remember the time I spent in school instead of the couple hour formal ceremony of graduation. I do not regret saving my money on grad dresses, etc.
There really is no reason we "need" the ceremony. It is a formality.
I am one of those who's ceremony was cancelled 2 days before it was scheduled to be held. I want to vote. USCIS has already deemed me qualified to become a citizen so why do I need to proclaim it to the world in a formal ceremony? You could answer "no" to the oath questions and still get your citizenship.

I did it. I had my ROC interview at the same time as my N400. Downside is that you'll probably have to get a stamp extending your conditional residency since it may take forever to get a citizenship interview (took me 13 months so my one year extension expired). But I am scheduled for oath ceremony once they reopen.
-
National Guard isn't active duty though... do you still qualify? Just wondering.
-
I think I sent two to three. I also circled it and wrote "child support as per attached custody agreement" so they could see that the amount was what was in the divorce papers if they wanted to check.
-
For mine, I sent a copy of my husband's paystub that had child support labelled as "miscellaneous deductions". I had no problem with that. YMMV.

Update: My spouse ended up talking his employer into letting him have the morning off but had to go back in the afternoon, which was all we wanted in the first place. I don't know what changed his mind, maybe some conscience kicked in, but thank goodness because it was a combined ROC/N400 interview! I was approved and am just waiting on my oath ceremony.
Changing GC status to Citizen status before Registering to Vote?
in Passports, etc. - What to do now that you are a US citizen

You can look it up online and see what is required for your state. For me, I mailed in my form and they did not require any further documentation or cross check with other agencies (Louisiana).
